The Scorpion heart was far too large to fit above Sylas' palm in any ordinary sense, its enormous mass suspended several meters over him while telekinesis held it in place. Each beat sent a dull pressure through the room, vessels thicker than Sylas' body contracting around blood that should have stopped flowing long ago, yet the more important movement came from within him as his Greed Seed stirred in response.
Sylas allowed only the faintest thread of the Seed's influence to reach upward, and crimson light spread through the heart almost at once. The resonance was powerful enough that anyone else might have mistaken the two Wills for the same thing, but once Sylas began comparing them directly, the differences became more useful than the similarities.
