Chapter 479 - Chapter 479

"Yes, a blood sacrifice is necessary," the demon general said coldly. "We're tired of this endless war. If we can erase your kind from existence, then we win—no matter the cost."

Ying Huanhuan laughed. "Since when did demons become so noble?"

The Heavenly King Palace narrowed his eyes. "Ice Lord, do you remember? When Fu Zu sealed our emperor, he severed one of the emperor's arms. The moment Fu Zu burned his own reincarnation to do it… you had already lost. Your Fu Zu couldn't defeat our emperor. He never could."

"If Fu Zu couldn't do it…" Ye Feng stepped forward, his voice calm, "What about me?"

"You?" the Heavenly King Palace scoffed, his expression darkening.

Ye Feng didn't argue.

He raised his hand.

Behind him, ten golden halos erupted into existence. A gray rune resembling the World Tree glowed between his brows. With a wave of his hand, the Xuanyuan Sword Spirit, forged from chaos, appeared in his grasp. Ten golden halos surged beneath his feet.

Boom!

Ye Feng slashed forward. A gash tore open in the sky.

From the crack poured an endless tide of demonic energy—roaring, surging like a great sea breaking through a dam. Darkness covered the heavens, swallowing all light. Only a few chosen cultivators still shone faintly on the battlefield.

And from that crack… a colossal figure slowly emerged.

He stood like a pillar between heaven and earth. One of his arms was severed. As his eyes slowly opened, the entire land quaked violently.

"My… Emperor…" the Heavenly King Palace murmured, his voice trembling. He dropped to one knee, overwhelmed.

Then came a voice, ancient and thunderous.

"…The aura of chaos… ten halos… the divine rune of the World Tree… You are…"

The Demon Emperor trembled.

"You are the God of Chaos!"

"Demon Emperor," Ye Feng said, his tone devoid of arrogance, "come fight me."

The Demon Emperor's expression twisted. "Haha… God of Chaos, you jest."

Even the Heavenly King Palace was stunned.

Their almighty emperor—feared by all—was backing down?

"I've heard," Ye Feng continued, "that you're a fierce warrior. Come. It's been too long since I've had a worthy opponent. I'm invincible, but bored."

"Chaos God," the Demon Emperor said, smiling awkwardly, "I… I am but a minor emperor among the demon clans. How could I possibly match you?"

"Huang… is he really that strong?" the Heavenly King Palace whispered.

"He is the God of Chaos, the Creator," the Demon Emperor said gravely. "His power is on par with the ancestor of our extraterritorial evil race. What do you think?"

"What?!" The Heavenly King Palace turned to look at Ye Feng, his eyes wide in disbelief.

In truth, the alien demons were merely one of many races within the outer evil clans. At most, they were a third-rate power in the vast multiverse. In the Chaos Plane, they wouldn't even qualify as that.

"So," Ye Feng said, raising a brow, "you don't wish to fight?"

"Absolutely not," the Demon Emperor replied quickly. "Had I known this world was under your protection, I wouldn't have dared set foot here—no matter the price. Don't worry, I'll take my people and leave immediately."

"Leaving?" Ye Feng said flatly. "But your subordinate mocked my woman."

The Demon Emperor's smile froze. "…Who was it?"

He turned toward his ranks.

"Step forward."

The Heavenly King Palace hesitated, then slowly stepped out.

"…Fool."

With a casual swipe of his massive palm, the Demon Emperor crushed the Heavenly King Palace into dust. Turning back to Ye Feng, he smiled nervously.

"Chaos God, may I leave now?"

Ying Huanhuan stared in disbelief.

The Lord of Darkness blinked.

The Lord of Life and Death was speechless.

Even Lord Yan, who had once offended Ye Feng, stood frozen in place.

This… this was the Demon Emperor, the one even Fu Zu had feared. Yet in front of Ye Feng, he behaved like a servant begging his master for mercy.

"How did you recognize me at first glance?" Ye Feng asked.

"When I was young, I once followed my father to meet the ancestor of our outer clan," the Demon Emperor said respectfully. "He too had ten halos and the World Tree rune. To be honest, our entire operation here followed his prophecy."

He paused, then continued.

"Everything has its time. Humans rose from the ashes of countless lost civilizations. Our ancestor believes that worlds must evolve—and for that, life must first be devoured. When we invade a planet, we drain its vitality, allowing it to reset and foster new life. In theory, it accelerates the universe's development."

Ye Feng frowned. "That's the noble version. What's the real reason?"

"…You're sharp," the Demon Emperor chuckled. "The truth is, our ancestor's power is in a state of delicate balance. He refuses to absorb energy directly. Instead, we gather energy for him through conquest."

Ye Feng narrowed his eyes. "And how many beings like your ancestor exist across the universe?"

"I wouldn't know," the Demon Emperor said. "I'm just a minor figure. But I've heard that in the Chaos Plane, powerful gods often devour one another. That world follows only one rule—survival by consumption."

"Consumption?" Ye Feng muttered. "Gods… devouring gods?"

He recalled the words of the system.

Everything originated from chaos. To devour others was to strengthen one's own chaotic power. Perhaps this was the law of the Chaos Plane.

He suddenly realized—flowers, plants, even divine relics… none of it could satisfy his current cultivation demands anymore.

"…System," Ye Feng said mentally, "what kind of place is the Chaos Plane?"

Ding.

> "The host's cultivation has not yet reached the threshold to unlock your previous life's memories. The system cannot answer your question."

Ye Feng's eyes narrowed. "Wait… previous life?"

"You just said I need to unlock my past memories to learn about the Chaos Plane. Does that mean… I originated from there?"

> "Affirmative. The host's current level is insufficient to unlock the memories of your past life. Further inquiries cannot be processed."

No matter how he asked, the system gave the same reply.

Still, one thing was now certain:

Ye Feng had once been a being from the Chaos Plane. In his previous life, he may have been a true god of terrifying strength.

The thought made his heart race.

"…Can I leave now?" the Demon Emperor asked again, meekly. "Don't worry, Chaos God. I won't set foot on this planet again. Nor will any other member of our outer clan. I'll spread the word—this entire starfield belongs to you."

Ye Feng nodded. "Go."

"Thank you, thank you!" The Demon Emperor bowed, wiped the sweat from his brow, and quickly retreated through the space crack, vanishing from sight.

Ding!

> "Congratulations! You have subverted the Martial Universe storyline. The Demon Emperor has voluntarily withdrawn from the Profound Sky Continent. All planets in this starfield are now protected from future invasion by extraterritorial evil races.

Reward: 66,666 attribute points."
