Chapter 20 - Bonus

Dimitri bowed fearfully before the man who he stood behind. Even he was not spared from the wrath of his master, especially in times like this, when he was burning in extreme fury. It had been three days, but the Phoenix's daughter was yet to be found.

Lord Supreme's anger had been ignited by one of the many gangsters who he had sent in search of the girl, he had broken the news that she hadn't still been found. The dark-haired male had angrily used his powers to suck the poor man's blood dry, while his fellow gangsters fearfully watched a once well-built man reduced to a bag of bones.

"My Lord" Dimitri said carefully "I think that man has fooled us. We should torture him more; he would reveal the girl's location"

There was a long pause. Dimitri patiently waited for his master to speak.

"No" the dark-haired male interrupted coldly "I had looked at his eyes and read his mind, he spoke only the truth"

Dmitri nodded.

"There is only one place she can hide" Lord Supreme smirked. He raised the sleeve of his long black coat to reveal ten arranged black dots on his lower arm. He clenched his fist and as if in response, the dots began to glow.

"She can only be home"

...….....

Ava had eaten dinner in her chambers. She was gradually getting used to eating there, it only meant little or no awkward pairs of eyes watching her- and that was a lot better.

She was angry some moments ago, because Neville didn't even give any attention to the coin after all she had went through to get it.

But he was a jerk and wasn't to be taken seriously. She promised herself that next time, she wasn't going to put in so much effort, she realized that he wasn't really willing to let her leave anyways. If he was, he would have sent her away a long time ago. That annoying spoilt brat!

She thought about Princess Aurora and the engagement preparations. She was really surprised to learn that she was getting engaged. But felt a little bad because it meant the only nice person in the palace was going to leave soon and Ava was going to tolerate this horrible place on her own.

She was going to summon courage the next day and ask Neville about her flute, Sweet. It had been days since he took it from her, she wanted to take it back. Ava planned all of these in her mind as she slowly drifted to sleep.

...…..

It was the terribly heavy wind that surprised her. Grains of sand fiercely blowing to her direction piercing her legs, her hair flew in the wind as she squinted her eyes. The dust was blurring her vision and it was becoming harder to see. She had no idea where she was, it was probably in the middle of nowhere.

Ava saw his blurry façade slowly becoming clear as he approached her. He was dressed in a heavy brown coat, a patterned shawl covered his blonde hair and nose, leaving only his eyes.

Aaron.

"I have arranged this meeting with great difficulty. We have to be quick" he said and reached for a small bag he carried, bringing out a small glass bottle a blue liquid in it"

"Why are you appearing in my dreams? Who exactly are you?" Ava asked boldly. She wanted to know his mission, what was he trying to achieve by doing this?

"We have no time to answer questions. This liquid…" he held up the jar "…It's important that you drink it liquid now" Aaron ordered. Ava looked at him, perplexed.

"I don't know what's in there, why should I take it?" she stared at the blue liquid.

"It's something like a bonus. You'll understand when you wake up"

"Bonus?" Ava frowned "Anyways, Im not drinking this" she said, stubbornly as she covered her eyes from the dust.

"I can't believe Im doing this" He simply said and, in an instant, Ava felt her head go blank. A strong force suddenly controlled her body and she opened her mouth. She watched Aaron pour a drop of the liquid in her mouth, even if she was doing the opposite of what she wanted. He was hypnotizing her.

But then the force left her and she was able to control herself again. She felt the liquid on her tongue, she was surprised at how awfully salty it tasted. But that wasn't the only thing that surprised her.

As soon as she swallowed the liquid her body instantly felt strong, it felt like all her senses suddenly felt enhanced.

"W…what was that" Ava stammered turning to Aaron.

"I don't have time to explain, you'll find out. As I said earlier, the liquid was a bonus"

"So tell me why you're doing this" Ava demanded.

"I can't say it now. Just remember to keep your eyes and ears open at all times, things aren't as they seem "

"You didnt answer my_" Ava wanted to say but he disappeared, leaving her in this sand storm as the wind began to increase.

That was the only thing she remembered…

...…

"Lady Ava?!" a familiar voice called out as Ava yawned awaking from her sleep remembering the dream.

She glanced at Annabelle who held the golden bell looking at her in surprise. Why was she looking like that? Ava thought.

She tried to sit up but found it difficult to. Confused, she peered down at the bed and her eyes instantly widened at what she saw.

She was literally levitating above the bed with no strings attached to her body!

"What the!" Ava yelled and wham! She fell back on her bed with force.

Annabelle raised a brow in complete shock.

"Lady Ava, did you just use magic?" the maid asked maintaining the surprised look.

"I…I don't…" Ava said panting hard in fear.

She checked her whole body for any sign of an explanation and her eyes glanced at her lower arm.

She was supposed to have only one black dot there.

But now there were two.

Annabelle saw the two black dots and smiled in relief. Ava couldn't believe what she was about to hear.

"I guess it's welcome to level two, Lady Ava!"
