Chapter 50 - ch 050 Fantasy Starry Sky Watch

"Yu Xin, you need to eat more," Meng Qingyan urged, noticing that Meng Yu Xin hadn't eaten or slept well after her detention at the police station the previous day. She encouraged her to have another helping.

"Okay, Auntie, but if I eat any more, I'll get fat!" Meng Yu Xin replied playfully, offering a weak yet resilient smile as she tried to lighten the mood at the dinner table.

"That's nonsense! You're so thin; you're not going to get fat. Even if you gained ten pounds, you'd still look slim," Meng Qingyan said, teasing her.

Chu Han chimed in, "Exactly, Sister Yu Xin! You're too thin. Please eat more! Don't try to lose weight like those female celebrities and jeopardise your health!"

With just a few words, the atmosphere at the dinner table became much more lively.

Chu Yuheng smiled kindly at the two children and then took out two gift boxes for them. "These are gifts I brought back from Beijing for you," he said.

Chu Han eagerly opened his gift box and found a limited edition Danfei watch called "Fantasy Starry Sky." Meng Yu Xin had the same watch, just in a women's model.

These watches were limited to only 200 pieces worldwide, with 100 designed for men and 100 for women, each featuring a unique serial number. They were extremely difficult to obtain, and Tonghai City had never stocked them. Chu Yuheng and Meng Qingyan had only managed to acquire these watches by travelling to Beijing.

What should have been a joyous occasion was overshadowed by the presence of Chu Ci at the dinner table.

When they bought the watches, they were unaware that their grandfather was bringing Chu Ci back with him.

After learning this, Meng Qingyan became preoccupied with the situation and completely forgot about the watches.

Chu Muping watched with amusement.

The more trouble his second brother caused, the happier he felt; he secretly hoped their family would descend into chaos.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Meng Yuxin thoughtfully placed her gift box in front of Chu Ci.

"Cousin, this is for you."

Chu Ci had focused most of her attention on the meal, giving only a little thought to the others around her.

She was aware that Chu Yuheng had given Chu Han and Meng Yuxin two watches, but it didn't seem to bother her.

Having only been in this family for a short time, she understood that they had been together for eighteen years. Naturally, they were closer to Meng Yuxin than to her; there was simply no comparison.

"It's okay; I don't need it. You don't have to give it to me," Chu Ci said calmly, her expression devoid of jealousy or resentment.

But some still didn't believe that she wasn't truly angry.

It would be difficult for anyone to feel good when their own parents treated another child better than them, especially after all the hardships she had endured over the years, while another girl enjoyed wealth and luxury in the Chu family, receiving the love and care that rightfully belonged to her parents.

"Ah Ci," Old Master Chu suddenly said, "just accept it. You and Xiao-Han are siblings; one for him and one for you—it's perfect."

Then, Old Master Chu turned to Chu Yu-Heng and stated, "Some things in this world can be changed, but blood ties are predetermined at birth and cannot be altered."

Old Master Chu didn't say it outright, but those who understood, understood.

Chu Yuheng grasped his father's words. "Dad, I understand. I was confused this time. The watch should be for Ah Ci."

Upon hearing this, Meng Yu-Xin's expression and movements froze.

"I have one," Chu Ci said.

She has one?

How could she possibly have one?

Did she know how much a Danfei Fantasy Starry Sky watch costs?

Chu Yu-Heng spent 5.8 million yuan in Beijing to buy these two watches. How could someone whose entire outfit costs less than 100 yuan own such an expensive watch?

Chu Ci's attire was as follows:

- Clothes: Cheap, 20 yuan

- Pants: Cheap, 30 yuan

- Shoes: Cheap, 30 yuan

- Watch: Danfei limited edition, 2.9 million yuan

Why is Sister Ci so extravagant?

Chu Ci: Guess?
