Chapter 39 - The Suit

Zuri and Kenzo finally picked up their clothes and pair them up at Zuri's place.

"I'll wear the gown and my heels." She dropped the dressing bag on her bed.

"That's the only high heel shoes that you own." Kenzo shook his head.

"And this is the first time I'm going to wear it." She climbed her shelf and brought down a big white box. "In this box are the shoes and some jewelry that I was given by mom and her friends. This will be the first and hopefully, the last time I'll wear these."

She opened the box, revealing a pair of knee-high black and red boots. There were a set of necklaces and bracelets which made her nod in satisfaction.

"I can barely wait to wipe the floor with that f.u.c.k.e.d up sister of mine."

Kenzo took out a measuring tape. "The heel is only two inches long."

"How long were you expecting it to be?"

"Five." She threw her flip-flops at him and he dodged it. "You're a woman."

"A young woman who won't be galavanting in heels that look like they were made for prostitutes." She snapped. "Unless you want me to turn into a b.i.t.c.h like my sister."

"Certainly not."

"Good." She closed the box and kept it away. "She won't mess with me any longer.

"Calm down. The event is tomorrow evening, right? All you have to do is watch your plan unfold."

"Yes, and I can have the satisfaction of watching her crumble like biscuits that have gone flat." She laughed. "I hate flat biscuits."

"Like, who doesn't?" Kenzo laid on the bed. "But what if you see Young Master Damari?"

Her mind went back to when they kissed that morning and she blushed.

"What are you blushing about?" He asked and she narrated the entirety of the day with Lucius.

"I swear if I had the chance, I won't hesitate to bite him." She said.

"Are you telling me that the president of a world famous company, the rich fourth young master of the Damari family, the most charming and charismatic man the internet ever knew, the hottest and sexiest guy to have ever been seen said, 'I like you.' and kissed you?"

"What? Are you jealous?" She grinned.

"No, I'm not and you are saying you liked it?"

"Obviously." She groaned, her heart aching. 'What is this feeling?' She wondered.

"Well, you will probably regret this feeling once you are married to an annoying person like him." Kenzo glared at her, as if reading her mind.

"Whatever." She blew raspberries at him and ran downstairs.

When he caught up to her, they both met Kenji in the living room, looking at a dressing bag that was opposite him."Hey bro." Zuri sat beside him and put an arm around his neck. "What's up?"

"My clothes have arrived." Kenji said. "I've seen them. They're nice and flashy."

"But...?" Kenzo had a 'what is it?' look.

"But it is really business like and too flashy. Plus, it's super tight and highlights my narrow waist." He banged his hand on the chair and buried him face in the couch cushion.

"I'm sure it's fine." She picked up the dressing bag and went upstairs. "I can fit into it."

"Yeah but it wasn't made for you and you might have to wrap bandages around your chest like you normally do." Kenzo yelled after her.

She soon returned, wearing the blue suit. "I swear, it feels like my intestines are going to ooze out of my nose and mouth."

"It fits you well but the bust was way too tight, making it uncomfortable for you." Kenzo smirked. "It shows that you are growing."

She wobbled upstairs and changed into her house clothes, bringing the bag down with her.

"You can wear it, Kenji." She tossed the bag to him. "It's alright. I wish I could wear a suit instead of that gown."

"But it's beautiful." Kenji took the bag. "And it's late. Kenzo and I better get home."

Zuri bid her friends goodbye and took a slice of apple pie outside to stargaze.

"I wonder what awaits me in the coming days." She smiled to herself.
