Honestly, I love the scrolls here on Rement. Full-color screens, the freedom to use both hands, the wider selection of games that I don't have to hunt down a tape to play, and it's so compact!"
"Yeah, it's nice and all, except the fact that there is no offline storage. And if the network ever goes down, it's nothing more than overpriced glass and dust. That's why I love my phone, laptop, and to a lesser degree, your Pipboy. They work even without a network connection. Sure, the scrolls might be thinner, but give it ten years back home, and we might have a phone that is as thin or thinner than a scroll. Assuming nothing dumb like a global pandemic brings all industries to a grinding halt. And we're here." Futaba
Getting out of the elevator, they were once again greeted by the massive scale of the vault. Only lit by green dust crystals and decorated by pillars.
"If this place doesn't scream big boss fight. I don't know what dose." Futaba
"If nothing else, this place has some nice acoustics. So, what exactly is the plan here?"
"I'm going to use my Persona Prometheus to connect to Amber on her heart's level to absorb the Fall Maiden's powers. Once I have hold of them, I will reel back the rest from Cinder. She is unlikely to be okay with that. And she will feel her powers getting tugged away from her. So she will most likely come down here to stop me. Unfortunately, I will be a stationary target, and you will have to defend me. The worst-case scenario is that we both die and get sent back to our home worlds and can't access the group chat for a good bit of time." Futaba
"Well then, it's time for me to do a bit of setup."
I quickly set up a level 3 Sentry, a Dipencer, and a Mini Senty. Futaba set a virus off in the elevator system to stop anyone from using it to get down to the vault. It was at least one less way of getting down here. I took out my frontier justice and hunkered down. I had 32 crits stored up and a bad bitch to use them on. Well, 64 crits if I swapped to the diamondback. Well, then I also had 30 seconds of nonstop crits if I used my canteen… God it's only taken me what 160 or so days to get this busted and sacrifice my caps to the shop. Nope, I'm not even going to try to figure out how much I spent. I would have already been max level if I got EXP from killing stuff. I could of done that in a month… Well, assuming the maximum level is 50.
"Alright, we're all set. No need for delay… Just point and pull the trigger." Futaba pointed what looked like a silver gun under her chin. "PER-SON-A" {click}
With a bright green light flashing, Futaba was gone, and in her place was a black orb covered in strands of neon lights.
"Starting Fall Maiden torrent.exe estimated completion time to be fifteen minutes," Futaba said. Her voice was coming from my Pipboy radio. A golden light started flowing out of Amber. The scent of watermelons and ash began to fill up the chamber like… Like … a fart or gas leak. Five minutes after the start of the torrent process, a small gold light came from the ceiling. The light began getting thicker and think. Four minutes later the part of the ceiling collapsed as Cinder Fall made a dramatic entrance.
"Well well well, what have we here? The interlopers and Amber. I was originally pissed when I found someone was sucking at my tit trying to get my Fall Maiden powers. But now you have led me to the source. I will now happily claim it along with your lives." Cinder Fall
"Well hody, me and my guns just want to say hi."
I ran and double-jumped to close the distance while my level 3 Sentry launched salvos of rockets. Cinder batted away the rockets while I managed to shoot her twice with my crits-enhanced shotgun. [1510 DMG] Cinder's Aura took all the damage. Cinder shot three fire dust arrows. Out of the three bolts, I was only hit by 1 [130 DMG], [AL 1760/1890]. (AN: AL stands for Aura Level and acts as both an mp bar and a shield for rement if not the rest of the fic. AL is HPx3). I decided to pop one of my 10 uses of GRX to slow the world down around me. I aimed and let loose 10 shots in a row… [7548 DMG] I might not have the bloody mess perk, but I think I just bore witness to what would happen if I did get that perk. blood mist.
(AN: Cinder had 3000 AL and 1000 HP vs 9058 DMG… God, I need to do a full perk list breakdown one of these days just so I have the math right. So a single shot from a fully upgraded Fronteer Justice is 444 DMG. Big shot acts as 50% more DMG. Cherchez La Femme and Lady Killer give +10% DMG each, bringing the current mult to 70% more or x1.7. Just be glad that she didn't do a sneek attack that's flat x8 DMG. I'm not even using of her current perks to fully scale her damage. X-42 giant robo-scorpion has 3500 HP, so yeah, take that for what you will.)

The world went back to it's normal speed as I threw up my lunch. Sure, I have killed people before but they usually don't end up as little more than bloody mist. This is why I never want to pick up the bloody mess perk. I just don't have the stomach for extreme gore. After 8 minutes of waiting around for Futaba to finish taking the Fall Maiden powers, something weird started to happen to Futaba's Persona. It was changing like a cracking egg to reveal what looked to be a silver triangular spaceship.
"Fall Maiden powers have been fully acquired. Ding!" Futaba

Well, that pushed me over the point of leveling up a good bit. "So Futaba, what happened with your Persona? Why did it change?"
"Well, when I was taking the Fall Maiden powers from Amber, we got to have a little talk. She decided to give me her everything. What was left of her damaged heart? She wanted me to be able to push forward. To be able to live for myself beyond the confines of my room. My Persona evolved with that push from Amber. The evolution will allow me to be the best support I can be. Also, look at this!" Futaba showed what looked to be a mess of elements at the tips of her fingers. "I'm magic now! Lighting seems to be my strongest element, and I can fly now. Woo!" Futaba did a barrel roll.
"Well, as cool as that is, we should bounce before Oz sees the wreck this place has become."
"Sure, give me a sec I'll just reset the level." Futaba
I watched as all the structural damage was undone with the power of Futaba's Persona. I even found Cinder's scroll intact. It had a program running that gave Cinder control of the Amity Arena and a way to take over the CCT Network. It also had a mission timer until the Grimm and White Fang would arrive.
"Were all set. I'll take the place of Cinder."
"While I'll just go watch the rest of the tournament." Futaba
I placed down a tellaporter and we were back in our dorm room in Beacon. Once we were back in the Amity Arena, I used a cloak and my diguskit to take the place of the once-alive Cinder fall. I slipped into a control room and took the chance to level up and see what the current events of the tournmate.

I watched as Hajime KO'd Ciel. Just karate-chopped her on the back of neck and she was knocked the fuck out. Well, it is to be expected when you have the abilities of all the ultimates, including the ultimate martial artist. Penny took some more effort. She was an android that didn't have the "easily" disrupted bundle of nerves to prey upon. In the end, Aqua used Zero Gravity and used her long lost fruit ball skills to ring out Penny. Luckily, we didn't have to fight Vol 7 Penny. She could have restablized herself with her rocket boots. Even though we stopped Penny from going to the final rounds, it didn't give us a mission complete.

It turned out to be Cinder's scroll. Mercury black was wondering what the plan was now that Penny could no longer be used on the chopping block. We would just restructure the plan a bit. I texted them that Watts gave me a back up plan. A little device that would make it look like you died from a dust explosion, leaving behind robotic corpse parts. We would fake Mercury's death as an accident perpetrated by Yang. We use said death for the rest of our needs. Grimm invades the Kindom of Vale, and Cinder takes the full Fall Maiden's power in the chaos. Texted them that I would have the device delivered to them by a member of the White Fang. I just used the disguise kit to deliver a copy of the dead wringer in person during the break.
Aqua beat Pyrrha by using the stopga spell and throwing her out of the ring, winning the final round, and due to the fact that Yang would be disqualified for "killing" Mercury. Aqua had just won us the whole Vytal Festival Tournament.

I decided to level up after I made Cider's long, dumb speech. Got to love she stored the speech on her scroll. I just had to make a tweak or two.

Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know that the existence of peace is fragile and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their bizz with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistrel, the stituation there is equally underivable. Our Kingdoms are at the brink of war. Yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark. So I ask you when the first shots are fired. Who do you think you can trust?"

I took the first rank of Demolition Expert. Broad Daylight is a dumb perk. You can just turn the PipBoy light off and not have to waste a perk point to do the same thing.
