Angelo woke up groggy and hungry, he barely registered Nikolai's presence in the chair across from the bed, stumbling to the bathroom to clean up.
By the time he came out, there was already breakfast on the table, Nikolai fully dressed with a laptop on the table.
Angelo stood a short distance away, wearing a bathrobe, his hair still wet. "Did you sleep?" He asked with a frown.
Nikolai had his attention on the assassin even before he woke up, dark blue eyes uncharacteristically bright. "I did. Come eat with me." He invited languidly, not mentioning that it was already late in the morning, and it wasn't that he didn't sleep but that the assassin had slept in.
Angelo was too hungry to chase that line of conversation, he obediently closed the distance, joining Nikolai at the center table. His thoughts were still buffering from sleep, so it wasn't until he was halfway through breakfast that he realized that he had cooked dinner the night before.
