Chapter 378 - 378. The Beast of Metal

Hello there, I'm being nice, so have this.

Praise me.

————————————————————

"Folks, would you look at that—Tyson's fifth Pokémon is the powerful Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon Metagross!"

In fact, even after seeing sending out his Metagross, the outcome of this battle had long been obvious to even him, but Tyson chose to not give up.

Even if he loses in the end, he must fight until the end—because this is what he promised Ash, this is what he promised himself, and this is what he promised to his beloved Pokémon.

In some corner of the stadium, Tobias held a Poke Ball and smiled, "This is exactly what I've been looking for. Every single one of his Pokémon is worth looking forward to battle with!"

On the rock field, the battle between Metagross and Lairon was just about to begin.

"Metagross, use Psybeam!" Sure enough, different

Trainers will have different focuses when training up the same species of Pokémon, making their displayed strengths also very different.

Metagross is one of the few Pokémon with the powerful type combination of the Steel-type and Psychic-type.

Morrison's Metang has just evolved from Beldum some time ago. Additionally, unlike Tyson, Morrison's training direction for it looks to be more focused on the very Physical Attack side of the Steel-type.

With his style and level, Morrison still wasn't ready to unleash or even properly train the true power of Metagross' innate Psychic powers.

Tyson, on the other hand, was different, his Metagross has been trained very comprehensively in both directions, making its possible skill structure also be much stronger and complete. Afterall, this was one of the two Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon's of the Hoenn Region. Ash was looking forward to fighting it, there was absolutely no doubt about it.

"Rock Slide!"

Large chunks of rock were summoned from some random dimension, hurling it on the rock ground made it shatter into countless pieces, blocking Metagross's Psybeam.

This is their way of acknowledging each other.

"Yes, this is it! This is what I want!" Tyson gritted his teeth, but his fighting spirit was burning like the flames of the Blaziken that had just bested him and his team. Even though he knows that he will still lose in the end, he was going to use his full strength.

However, no matter what the results, he was still very anxious about every little thing, "Metagross, let's do it! Hyper Beam!"

This is Tyson being Desperate.

This is Tyson being Passionate.

This is Tyson being Fired.

This is Tyson being Him.

To put it simply, for things like a powerful special move like Hyper Beam, one must pay attention to the timing of launching them, or everything will be for not.

"Rock Tomb, layers!" Thick layers upon layers of stone stood between Metagross and Lairon, managing to block the incoming Hyper Beam.

"Damn it!" Tyson himself realized his mistake. For such a master, if he makes one wrong move, he will lose the whole game.

And he did.

He used a move that took too long to launch. And Ash used it perfectly to boost up his defenses to effortlessly cancel out one of Metagross' strongest attacks.

"Rock Slide!" The countless pieces of stones summoned by the attack shattered violently and rushed toward to crash into Metagross head-on.

But Tyson breathed a sigh of relief, "Ash, you should know that one thing my Metagross excels at is its astonishingly high defense! Metagross, charge forward!"

Metagross's Pseudo-Legendary power came into the play of Tyson's skilled hands. Under him, his beast of steel ignored any and all attacks coming towards him, and rushed towards Lairon like a heat seeking missile.

This is a battle between Steel-type Pokémon. The dignity of their respective Steel-type species is on the line. They have to face off; no matter what. Ash's fighting spirit is also burning in this increasingly heated battle, "Tyson, I once again thank you for this wonderful battle! Heavy Slam!"

Even with its Hidden Ability Heavy Metal, this move of Lairon was not that effective against Metagross. The weight difference between the two sides was not big enough for the power to rise exponentially, so with that in mind, with a brilliant shine of metallic light, they collided violently!

The harsh sounds of metal clashing generated by the collision of these two beasts of hard metal spread throughout everywhere, all the spectators in the Stadium involuntarily covered their ears, even some watching it LIVE from television did it instinctively.

"Wow, that looked so cool but sounded so bad!" Morrison exclaimed, covering his ears to the point that he couldn't hear his own voice at all.

However, the ladies were not feeling this like the rest of the people, as Togetic immediately set up a Safeguard to protect them the moment they ran towards each other.

[Poor dudes.]

Ciel said cheerfully.

Ash looked up to the sky and spread out his hands, not seeming to be affected by the harsh sound of all, "Lairon, DO IT!"

The pressure from the Pseudo-Legendary finally stimulated Lairon's last potential, and with that, the gift from a Champion-level powerhouse like Steven, the Lairon with its powerful Hidden Ability Heavy Metal finally reached the moment of evolution!

The dazzling white light was almost too blinding, and in that light, the form of the beast inside was constantly changing and strengthening.

Lairon, who was originally standing on four thick, metallic legs, stood upright on its hind legs, even more powerful now to hold up that weight, and at the same time, its figure continued to climb, growing to nearly 3 meters tall.

This new form of his was simply terrifying. It hasn't even completed its evolution state and yet its power was so hard to look at. The two long sharp horns on its forehead poke out from the two holes in the armor.

The sound of the strongest solid iron clashing against each other was endlessly heard by everyone.

Aggrons are known to use this pair of sharp steel horns to charge into battle and ripping their prey apart, showing huge destructive power without needing to even use its moves. With just one blow, it can turn even the strongest of tanks into nothing more than scrap metals.

There are two categories of who would go against this Pokémon head-to-head: the strong, and the dumb.

"AGGG! ROOONNN!"

The light exploded out and revealed the new Aggron standing proudly in front of its beloved Trainer, Ash. It roared continuously, showcasing its terrifying power that had only skyrocketed even more after finishing this evolution.

The new things not only include the difference in its new physique, but also the Bond Value between it and Ash also changed. It increased with the improvement of both the degree of compatibility and the literal bond after evolution, and directly reached the pinnacle of the meter.

Aggron: 255/255

Although, currently, Aggron was not as powerful as the giant couple in Tyranitar and Rhyperior, it was already comparable to them in terms of size. This was not surprising, Aggron was trained by Ash from the moment he was little Aron. The other two, especially Rhyperior, then just a unique Rhydon, were only caught later when they already reached what Ash considered to be adulthood, so progress was slower for them than it was for the still very young Aggron.

Not to mention how much effort was put into building up that armor of his; building that solid foundation alone was far more expensive and harder to deal with than those two.

Tyranitar, while, yes, was caught by Ash when it was already fully evolved and grown, and it was also stronger than most of its species at that growth period, something happened to it that made her more than worthwhile to train up. The fact that she was first caught by the disgusting Dark Ball was a shame, but after being defeated, her body was repaired in the mysterious lake that did wonders. It was a blessing in disguise that it gained astonishing powers and something even more remarkable, new high potential.

Only then did she gradually become one of the strongest Pokémon under Ash now, through continuous training and luck.

In fact, the same is true for his good friend Charizard. It was the new version of Ash who came into this reality that had he really started to really train Charizard into what he was today.

However, Aggron was also quite different in another aspect. Every step of its evolution and training has been firmly under the control of Ash and his powerful judgment. Now that he believed it was the time to complete its final evolution, he already made sure that it won't be too long before the new Aggron can grow into the height of the real team.

The strongest team full of monsters in their own right!

Aggron, Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert… everyone was striving to join that top team and help their Trainer achieve his biggest wish.

"Oh my lord. Ash's Lairon has evolved into Aggron mid match to match Tyson's Metagross to have a proper match! What a match to watch this is!" The commentator finally recovered from the shock, well kinda, maybe.

The momentum, the aura, Aggron was unconsciously releasing was more than simply called powerful.

"Tyson, fight me!"

The battle at this moment is between Hoenn's Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon and one that can be now considered the iron god!

"As you wish, Metagross, use Meteor Mash!" Somehow, Tyson's fighting spirit was still burning like crazy. Like he said before, what he truly wants to do is to finish this battle with Ash completely without leaving any regrets for himself.

That's all a Trainer of his caliber wishes to accomplish.

"The REAL Heavy Slam!"

Aggron roared loudly, and now somehow an even more impressive metallic light swept through his body. The rocky field under his feet shattered under it by just him moving, forming huge spider webs that went everywhere.

As expected, Aggron using Heavy Metal now is completely different than when he was Lairon, it's huge body and heavy armor made his weight easily exceed 900 kilograms!

This huge weight brought a terrifying impact. Even the Steel-type Pseudo-Legendary Metagross known to have one of the strongest defenses out there would be severely damaged in this head-on battle.

And Aggron didn't disappoint.

After some more moves going through them, especially a fatal Supereffective blow from a Bulldoze, the battle reached its conclusion.

"Metagross loses the ability to fight, meaning Aggron wins this battle!"

"AGGHRONN!" Defeating the enemy just after evolving, Aggron looked up to the sky and roared, but Ash still took him back to get his body rested after evolving into a far different kind of body, "You did perfect, Aggron. Nex! I chose you, Pikachu!"

Tyson is down to his last Pokémon standing, and of course it was none other than his Meowth in Boots.

In order to show respect for Tyson, Ash also decided to take out his real Ace to battle Tyson and Meowth!

"Pikachu?" Tyson suddenly realized something.

Could it be that Ash's strongest Pokémon is the Pikachu that is inseparable from him?!

This is the fateful battle between Pikachu and Meowth, though not the Meowth that is more well known.

"Meowth, let's fight with all our strength! Ash sent out his best; that means we also had to do our best not to disappoint him!" The battle has come down to its conclusion period, but Tyson's fighting spirit only now became the strongest.

In the audience, Gary looked at Tyson and nodded repeatedly. He is a real Trainer worthy of respect and a true Rival to Ash!

"Meowth, use Slash!"

Meowth, who always wore his cowboy boots after a certain incident, had some amazing claws and has been trained by Tyson with great effort to master them to their absolute limit.

But such skills were not enough in front of Ash and Pikachu, they were never enough, and they would never be enough. Pikachu's speed was far too amazing to be caught in something like this. The moment it came closer, a metallic light shone on its tail, and an Iron Tail knocked it away.

It was simply far too easy. It looked like Pikachu didn't even put any force behind that at all, which couldn't be a false statement.

"Thunderbolt!" Ash gave the order, and Pikachu controlled the electric current to not directly attack but instead chased Meowth, and hit him immediately in the moment the pussy let his vision cloud.

Tyson responded quickly, "Use Thunderbolt as well!"

Meowth made a smooth spin and landed on a rock. He also used Thunderbolt to block Pikachu's galloping current, or that's what he wanted to do.

However, this move was simply a trick. Otherwise, Pikachu could have ended the battle the moment it began.

Pikachu erupted in an instant, and terrifyingly loud and bright thunder appeared like it was the Spear of Heaven. Everything was shredded, it penetrated Meowth's electricity, and the pussy was now swallowed whole by the golden current.

All the audience—usual people, commentators, tv audiences, Trainers, Professors—were swallowing their saliva, even though their throats were now drier than the JFK biscuit.

Is this really a Pikachu?

Not Raikou or Zapdos?

Yes, it's a Pikachu.

A Pikachu that beat both Raikou and Zapdos into submission for his Trainer.

"Meowth loses its ability to fight, meaning Pikachu wins this battle! So the winner of this battle is Trainer Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!"
