Chapter 4154 - 4154

Chapter 4154: Where Are They?

In the eyes of those Eternals, taking the final step and breaking out of the realm into chaos would grant them true freedom. But Lin Moyu knew more than they did: becoming a Transcendent and entering chaos did not mean true freedom. Above the Transcendents, there were still the Grand Sovereigns of Heaven and Earth. To truly gain freedom, one must at least become a Grand Sovereign like the old man in the green robe. Only then could one travel freely between realms, doing as one pleased that was true freedom.

Otherwise, even the patriarch of the Spirit Demon Clan ultimately had to obey the Grand Sovereigns' orders, doing this and that.

The final step was extremely difficult; taking it was no easy feat, and failure could mean death and the destruction of one's Dao. Even if one barely managed to take the step, it might not be complete, resulting in a half step Transcendent. A half step Transcendent still could not remain in the realm, but was much weaker than a true Transcendent, making entry into chaos extremely dangerous.

Lin Moyu thought that the Kunlun Emperor's reluctance to leave was probably due to this. After all, outside the realm there were still Soul Devourers, and the first challenge a new Transcendent would face would be from them.

After pondering for a while, Lin Moyu made his choice: he would take both paths at once. He would master the Five World Realms, become the master of this Heaven and Earth, using the realms as a springboard, and at the same time push the Immortality Dao to its limit, achieving proof of the Dao through strength.

Adults don't make choices they take it all.

A plan was born in his heart and began to take shape, but there was still much to prepare. Lin Moyu still fell a bit short in his understanding of the Immortality Dao; to push it to the peak, he still lacked strength. And the method to become the master of Heaven and Earth was not yet fully determined he only had a rough outline.

He finally returned to the Hengduan Mountains, and before he even entered, several Eternals came out to greet him.

"Congratulations to the Immortality Dao Lord on returning to the Dao!"

"Congratulations, Daoist Lin, on achieving Eternity!"

"Congratulations, Daoist Lin."

One congratulation after another, and Lin Moyu could sense the change in these Eternals. They now showed him more respect. Though they still addressed him as Daoist, they had lowered themselves a little.

Cultivators respect strength. Now that he had displayed enough power, he naturally received the respect he deserved.

The Lord of Power asked boisterously, "Daoist Lin, did you wipe out all the wild beasts?"

Lin Moyu nodded. "I wiped them out. For now, they won't be making any waves. Let the Soulless Beast handle them we just need to watch the show from the Hengduan Mountains."

Everyone believed Lin Moyu's words without question. Especially since all they had to do was watch it was something anyone would enjoy.

Old Yin head laughed, "Daoist Lin, what you've done is a great merit indeed."

The Human Emperor agreed, "Daoist Lin's return is a great blessing for all cultivators. But I have a question: why did you ultimately spare the Beast Emperor? And what happened among the Spirit Demon Clan? Where did they go?"

It was a question everyone wanted to know.

Lin Moyu replied, "There was a reason I didn't kill the Beast Emperor. I can't say more just think of it as the time not being right."

"As for the Spirit Demon Clan, they were never natives of this realm. Facing a life and death crisis, they chose to withdraw. As for the specific reasons, it's not convenient for me to say. But if you really want to know, I have a way."

The Human Emperor's eyes lit up. "What way?"

Lin Moyu replied, "Take the final step and become a Transcendent."

Everyone present was smart enough to catch his meaning. By saying the Spirit Demon Clan was not native and that only a Transcendent could know the answer, he implied they came from chaos. The reason Lin Moyu could not say more was likely due to the rules of Heaven and Earth, or perhaps something the Candle Dragon had said.

In any case, the Spirit Demon Clan had left, the Dao Wild Beasts had been dealt with, and Lin Moyu had accomplished alone what they had failed to do for countless years. What more could they say?

An Yuyan, who had been silent, finally spoke after the others finished their questions. "Daoist Lin, there's something I want to discuss with you."

Lin Moyu nodded. "Alright, let's talk as we walk."

The two of them headed deeper into the Hengduan Mountains. The other Eternals exchanged smiles, as if they understood something.

After walking for a while, An Yuyan pointed to a palace atop a peak. "That's my palace. Now that you've become Eternal, you're also qualified to establish a palace here and leave a wisp of your soul inside."

This was something every Eternal did. That way, if anything happened in the Hengduan Mountains, they could easily contact each other. Except in special cases, this method would always work.

Achieving Eternity brought more ways to communicate besides the palace, one could also use the Origin Land, and as long as one's Dao reached somewhere in the outside world, one could arrive quickly.

Lin Moyu said, "Actually, it's not necessary. If things go smoothly, it won't be long before there's no need to guard the Hengduan Mountains."

Now that the Dao Wild Beasts were no longer a threat, they would soon be eliminated. Tun Yuan was gone, the Soulless Beast remained, and forty filth pools had already been purified, with more to come. The Soulless Beast was growing stronger, and the Dao Wild Beasts wouldn't last much longer.

An Yuyan understood and didn't press the issue. She continued, "Daoist Lin, are you about to take your final step?"

Lin Moyu admitted openly, "Yes, I'm about to work toward my final step."

An Yuyan showed some concern. "The final step is very dangerous." Her bright eyes gazed intently at Lin Moyu, filled with emotion anyone could see it.

Lin Moyu said, "I know it's dangerous, but I have a reason I must go."

"I know." An Yuyan sighed softly. "Actually, I secretly used the Dao of Cause and Effect to divine your future. When I was divining the future, I often touched upon you as well."

"Please don't misunderstand, Daoist Lin I wasn't trying to pry into your privacy. You surely know your own situation; cause and effect can only be a reference. I was just curious why you are so determined."

Divining the future with cause and effect is never precise; it requires repeated attempts to find a relatively correct result among thousands, but even then, it's not guaranteed. For someone like Lin Moyu, who is outside of fate, it's even harder to divine with the Dao of Cause and Effect.

An Yuyan had only obtained some vague possibilities and roughly understood that Lin Moyu had a compelling reason to take the final step. She was curious to know why.

Lin Moyu sighed, "Since you've divined the future, you should have divined the past as well. I come from a humble world, and in that world, I had a wife."

"But something happened, and I must take the final step if I ever want to see my wife again."

As Lin Moyu spoke, a flower of cause and effect blossomed in An Yuyan's palm, its seven petals unfolding.

An Yuyan's beautiful eyes gazed at the flower. "You actually have seven wives."

She used the Dao of Cause and Effect to deduce Lin Moyu's wives from his words.

Lin Moyu replied, "Yes."

An Yuyan asked, "Where are they?"

Suddenly, killing intent surged in Lin Moyu's eyes, his murderous aura piercing the clouds like a sword.
