Chapter 4423: Fat Tree, What Are You Thinking?
That endless war between chaos and ancient desolation, which lasted for countless years, finally ended with the victory of "Dao."
"Dao" obtained the flower, and by relying on it advanced even further, becoming the strongest entity in chaos.
In theory, after mastering chaos, "Dao" should have unified and ruled over ancient desolation as well but the reality was otherwise.
Previously Lin Moyu hadn't understood why, but now he did: in that war, "Dao" was also gravely wounded, suffering wounds so severe they never fully healed.
Though "Dao" seized the flower and grew stronger, the injuries did not recover.
The greater the being, the harder it is to heal from such wounds.
Because of this, for endless years after, chaos entered a prolonged peace.
Eras came and went. Waves of new life were born, tribes formed, domains emerged, cultivators thrived and grew into Supremes.
Through those ages, "Dao" faded into the background, almost invisible.
That past war was so fierce that even time itself was shattered, making it impossible for anyone to use the Dao of time to look back, so none even knew "Dao" existed instead, they believed the Heavenly Sovereign was the ultimate pinnacle.
Only later did someone chance upon evidence of "Dao", and then Catastrophe Supreme began to plot, devising a way to challenge "Dao."
As Lin Moyu continued absorbing and refining the Chaotic Spirit Pearl's essence, his mind kept circling one question: what exactly was that flower?
"Why do I get the sense that the wars in chaos and ancient desolation were all a setup, purposefully incited by someone?"
It was just a suspicion Lin Moyu had no proof.
If he had to offer evidence, perhaps the Catastrophe Scepter itself would count.
After all, the Catastrophe Scepter was so far as is known the only treasure in chaos and ancient desolation to reach the fifth tier.
Even "Dao" is only at tier four.
If the Catastrophe Scepter can seriously wound "Dao," where did it come from? Was it also born from heaven and earth?
Or was it crafted by someone? Did it once have an owner?
If so, perhaps the master of the Catastrophe Scepter was behind the wars the one who produced the flower.
Such a war decimated nearly all the top powers in chaos and ancient desolation, and their deaths nourished, perfected, and strengthened those worlds.
The biggest beneficiary was not "Dao," but chaos and ancient desolation themselves.
Just as Chaos Child tried to perfect his inner world could someone have done the same? If not, how could the Catastrophe Scepter exist so unreasonably?
At this moment, Lin Moyu felt he might be on the cusp of a terrifying secret.
"Perhaps what I'm thinking is the truth."
"But there are still so many puzzles I can't solve."
"And with my current strength, this isn't a secret I'm meant to touch yet."
It was only a possibility, and confirming it would be almost impossible; he could only take things step by step.
This harvest was huge for him not just ancient secrets, but the root of "Dao's" existence; to Lin Moyu, this was critical.
Now he was sure: "Dao" is not invincible. Catastrophe Supreme's plans could really work.
Long ago, "Dao" swept chaos and ancient desolation; now, Catastrophe Supreme dared to overthrow it how bold that must be.
Now that Lin Moyu was riding on Catastrophe Supreme's ship, there was no turning back.
As he finished absorbing the last of the pearl's essence, Lin Moyu felt he was just a step away from Chaos Great Completion.
His domains Five World Domain, Grand Thousand World, Kedaosphere, Spiritual Mystery Domain had all grown.
Because he had so many domains, the essence was split between them, so he hadn't quite reached Chaos Great Completion.
Still, having many domains would lay a rich foundation for the future something others could only dream of, and Lin Moyu valued it.
By standard timelines, he'd reached the Chaos Realm not long ago; to get so close to Great Completion so quickly was miraculous. Most cultivators spent millions or even tens of millions of years for the same.
Now he was only one step away. If his domains improved just a bit more, he would step securely into Chaos Great Completion.
Lin Moyu wasn't disappointed; gazing at the now refined Chaotic Spirit Pearl, he said, "Split it between yourselves."
Both Chaos Child and Little Tree wanted it not for power, but its main body.
Lin Moyu had seen from the pearl's memories that, in ancient times, when powerhouses died, their remains were carved up by others especially "Dao," who devoured countless bodies to become what it is.
"Dao" only came out openly late in the war before that it hid, secretly consuming countless powerful corpses.
By the time it revealed itself, it had become unstoppable.
Not everyone had the ability to do this, but Chaos Child and Little Tree certainly did.
Chaos Child didn't hesitate at all, telling Little Tree, "Let's split it."
Little Tree shook his head, "I don't want it you take it."
Chaos Child was surprised: "Such a treasure and you refuse? Fat Tree, what's on your mind?"
Little Tree replied, "Its essence isn't like mine. I don't want to consume it."
Little Tree is the Chaos Ancestral Tree, master of time, space, and life itself his power is pure and naturally far removed from the spirit pearl.
Chaos Child, meanwhile, is Chaos Pearl, born of the primal domain seed, whose inner world can devour and contain anything.
"Then I'll help myself!" said Chaos Child, and immediately absorbed the Pearl.
Little Tree said, "You saw the past, didn't you?"
Lin Moyu replied, "I saw you you really fought in the war."
Little Tree nodded, "I guessed as much, or I'd never have split myself apart. He probably did the same."
Lin Moyu said, "That villain is incredibly powerful defeating him will be hard."
Little Tree said, "I trust you, Master. You will succeed."
Lin Moyu smiled, "Then let's all work hard who wants a blade always hanging overhead, ready to fall?"
Little Tree said, "Honestly, I hadn't thought much about it; even now I don't understand why I fought back then. Odd, really why was everyone so insane?"
Even if his memory weren't sealed, Little Tree doubted he'd ever fully grasp it.
From the pearl's perspective, all beings in ancient chaos and desolation were driven mad.
Could it really have been just for a flower?
Lin Moyu doubted it surely a few were above such greed.
And yet no one escaped; even the cautious Pearl went mad at the sight of the flower.
So was it the flower itself, or something deeper at work? No one could say.
Lin Moyu said, "No use dwelling; maybe someday the answer will reveal itself. For now, find another space time rift. We head to the West Pole."
