Chapter 4429: Riot in the Desolation Zone
There was only one answer: the West Pole Supreme.
Catastrophe Supremes formed a group their exact number unknown but definitely not few.
Now, it seemed, the West Pole Supreme was one of them.
Lin Moyu had figured it out. He muttered, "I just wonder if 'Xingquan' is the Supreme's real name, or a name borrowed from someone else."
But that wasn't important; using this method, the Supreme had told him what to watch out for in the West Pole Pure Land and indirectly disclosed the location of the Catastrophe Supreme's array.
The array was in the deepest core, where not only it, but also other dangers awaited.
The first was the danger of the West Pole Pure Land itself; the second, the obsession left behind by the Chaos Divine Water Beast.
From the Supreme's description, the Divine Water Beast was the source of the West Pole without it, nothing could have saved the battered region. West Pole Pure Land was the ancestral homeland of its people.
As an outsider, Lin Moyu didn't see it that way.
He doubted, in an era that harsh and cruel, the beast would be so benevolent as to die to repair the West Pole.
When he asked Little Tree and Chaos Child, they confirmed his suspicions:
The Divine Water Beast was no saint it was powerful, brutal, with a fierce territorial sense not to be provoked.
If it did such a thing, there must have been far deeper motives.
Lin Moyu also reasoned out why Catastrophe Supreme set the array in the core: to harness the West Pole Pure Land's power.
The Pure Land held great power unified, its outburst would be unimaginable.
The array had likely absorbed energy secretly for eons; perhaps even the Supreme didn't know, as it was not a place easily entered.
Apart from Catastrophe Supreme, Lin Moyu himself might be the only one able to step in.
In the outer zones of the Pure Land, Lin Moyu encountered no obstacles, and within days reached the Rainbow Bridge.
The Rainbow glowed, spanning the void like a prismatic arch, joining inner and outer layers.
By the time he arrived, there were many people all waiting to enter via the Rainbow Bridge.
No one moved upon reaching the bridge; instead, they waited to be taken by it to the inner realm.
More and more strong cultivators gathered most in Chaos Minor Completion, some in Great Completion, and a few Full Completion experts.
You could easily tell who was from the West Pole by their quiet, reserved demeanor.
No one talked; everyone kept their distance.
After ten plus days, the rainbow shrank toward the inner zone, carrying its passengers calmly inside.
The bridge's pace gradually increased, the transition placid, without the slightest ripple.
Passing through the boundary, Lin Moyu saw the so called Desolation Zone: a pitch black area, blanketed in fog, like a scar slashed across the land.
From afar, it looked as if some ring shaped treasure had smashed into the West Pole Pure Land, almost breaking it apart.
He imagined an ancient scene a huge artifact falling from the heavens and striking here, thus forming the scar.
"That scar…"
At the edge, he spotted patterns. If you shrank them down, they looked eerily like those on the Cause Seeking Ring.
A notion surfaced, "Could this be the Cause Seeking Ring's doing?"
As soon as that thought arose, he felt certain it was true.
The Cause Seeking Ring's patterns were unique if it struck the Pure Land in the past, it would have left such a scar.
"Little Tree, you think the Desolation Zone was struck by the Cause Seeking Ring?"
Little Tree answered, "Very possible. I've never clashed with it, but I know it was mighty, an unrivaled master of fate. But alas, it died.
Now only the ring remains, its spirit snuffed out, its powers nearly intact, still supreme.
At its peak, it must have been incredible fate was a force both weird and strong, beyond even my space time power.
Yet even then, it couldn't defeat 'Dao' nor claim the prize flower."
Little Tree was always careful when referencing the past, at once cautious and awestruck.
At that moment, the Cause Seeking Ring appeared on Lin Moyu's wrist, gently vibrating, sending a sound only he could hear.
He felt the ring resonating with the Desolation Zone below. Then he heard a muffled, thunderous roar.
The Rainbow Bridge trembled as a vast aura surged from the Desolation Zone, forming a giant fist that crashed into the bridge.
Many Chaos cultivators were shocked, their power suppressed they couldn't fight back.
Lin Moyu felt it too, his soul under intense pressure.
But as his Immortal Dao alternated, death and life exchanged, the pressure was erased in a heartbeat.
Little Tree let loose his space time power, dispersing the soul crushing force.
All of this happened in an instant. Lin Moyu quickly recovered, but the others weren't so lucky.
Minor Completion cultivators collapsed; those at Great Completion barely stayed upright, moving sluggishly.
Only Full Completion experts could move freely, though even they weren't operating at full power.
A trace of panic passed over the crowd no one knew what was happening.
Rainbow Bridges had existed for countless years and never failed like this.
Other Rainbow Bridges seemed to suffer the same; from all the inner outer boundary, strength burst from the fog, transforming into giant fists to batter the bridges, nearly breaking them.
If the rainbow bridges broke, most would fall right into the Desolation Zone.
From the Pure Land's depths, a furious howl echoed, and a titanic beast appeared, galloping on silvery water, unleashing a silver rain.
As if the rain had eyes, it all poured down upon the Desolation Zone, raining away the fog and releasing endless steam.
The shrouded region was revealed every inch etched with the same strange patterns as the Cause Seeking Ring.
He was now certain the Desolation Zone was hammered out by the Cause Seeking Ring.
"What is that!?"
Someone pointed and shouted at the Desolation Zone.
Lin Moyu looked and there, in that scarred region, a black shape appeared!
