Chapter 4421: The Last Dying Counterattack
Chaos Child was visibly excited not just for the drama but because he coveted the Chaotic Spirit Pearl.
Lin Moyu waited for the reveal, sensing he'd have answers soon.
The Chaotic Spirit Pearl began its attack: the power of ten million controlled artifacts surged, transforming into colored rays that wrapped and dragged back the undead minions who'd broken out.
To the Pearl, these undead were delectable fuel for its recovery.
But it overlooked one thing: why didn't the undead fall prey to its charm?
Even the cautious will slip up, and here, the Pearl faced the special circumstance of boundless undead minions simply too many to ignore.
As the pearl struck, Little Tree instantly responded.
The Chaotic Spirit Pearl targeted undead, while Little Tree targeted the Pearl.
Hundreds of thousands of roots blasted into the void, intertwining into a colossal net that enveloped a million miles of space.
The force of space time crashed like waves, rattling the void like a giant invisible hand, shaking loose any hidden layers.
No matter which space or time the Pearl hid in, Little Tree's net wrenched it out.
This was the first time Lin Moyu witnessed Little Tree unleashing true space time power and realized how shallow his own attempts with the Chaos Array seemed by comparison.
Space alone, or time alone, are nothing before their union.
Lin Moyu had dabbled before, but only at low cultivation.
Such tactics were useful in a single world, but not across the vastness of a domain or, even more so, chaos itself.
He could affect space or time individually, but not merge them at least, not yet.
With Little Tree's example, Lin Moyu saw the path: to one day combine space time force in his own arrays.
Under layered space time, the Pearl's illusions shattered and twisted, revealing its true body at last.
Little Tree shouted, "He's adapting he'll make new illusions. I can't hold out long act quick!"
He'd already locked onto the Pearl's real body; Lin Moyu, tuning to Little Tree's spirit, did the same.
"Corpse Bomb!"
Lin Moyu detonated the remains of two Full Completion level corpses one mixed, one from the Blackclaw Clan.
He had six such corpses remaining, five with multiple uses, one (Blackclaw) slightly weaker but still powerful.
This was an all out gambit one shot to annihilate the Pearl's spirit.
As for its main body, it was far too tough for mere explosions to harm.
Boom!
A muffled bang echoed from within the Pearl; its agonized screams followed.
The screams became soul attacks, but the Calamity Boat shielded Lin Moyu's crew.
The mixed corpse detonated multiple times, and Lin Moyu kept firing until it stopped each blast met by another scream, weaker each time.
The aura vanished; all ten million controlled treasures hung eerily in place in the void.
The Pearl endured five internal blasts by the fourth, all sound inside was gone.
"Is it dead?" Lin Moyu gazed at the Pearl, uncertain.
Even using the Necromancer's Eye, there was no trace of soul flame within but absolute certainty eluded him.
The Eye can be fooled; he knew that well.
Neither Little Tree nor Chaos Child could be sure either an ancient survivor like the Pearl could have hidden escapes.
With uncertainty lingering, Lin Moyu exited the Calamity Boat and cast out the World Destroying Fire.
Even if the Pearl survived, it was barely hanging on so cleansing it in fire was a wise final step.
Precautions upon precautions the Pearl was wary, but Lin Moyu was warier.
The World Destroying Fire enveloped the Pearl, digging inside.
There came the faintest whimper its last gasp.
Lin Moyu muttered, "So it was alive after all…"
He didn't finish; suddenly, the Pearl flared, hurtling toward the Calamity Boat.
Little Tree's space time net tried to block the escape, but his senses blinked one instant's hesitation, and the Pearl slipped through.
At that moment, the ten plus strongest of those ten million treasures attacked together, with the Pearl, hammering the Calamity Boat.
"A last gasp a dying counterattack!"
Lin Moyu's face was cold; he understood this was the Pearl's final strike, erupting with force even Little Tree felt.
But it was useless; protected by the Calamity Boat, no harm came except an ear splitting boom.
After that one furious attack, the Pearl went silent, letting the flames consume it, finally yielding.
Lin Moyu whispered, "This time it should be dead."
Little Tree had recovered. "Yes, it should be."
Chaos Child insisted, "To be sure, I'll try it with purified water."
Little Tree scoffed, "You just want to eat, right?"
Chaos Child swore, "I'm greedy, sure, but I wouldn't steal the master's treat!"
He flew outside, opened his own inner world, and washed the Pearl in purified water.
Simultaneously, Lin Moyu swapped fire for purified water the Pearl soaked, but did nothing.
Chaos Child declared, "Truly dead."
Little Tree was wistful, "Such a long life, yet in the end, still died."
Chaos Child grumbled, "It's his own fault had he not messed with the master, he'd still be alive."
With the Pearl dead, all those treasures lost their spark; Lin Moyu simply ordered his undead to collect them.
He'd melt them all down to feed his domain later.
Holding the Pearl, Lin Moyu eyed it, then looked curiously at Chaos Pearl, "They do seem a bit alike."
Little Tree said, "They're both pearls so, of course."
Chaos Child cried, "Don't compare that thing to me! He's not in my league!"
Some things are best left unsaid, so the topic ended there.
They may look similar, but their origins are worlds apart; Chaos Child considered himself far nobler than the Chaotic Spirit Pearl.
Little Tree noted, "Master, though that Pearl is dead, it contains immense energy absorbing it could raise your strength and empower your domain."
