Chapter 4432: Supreme's Calculations, Reviving a Quasi Supreme
Leaving the desolate region behind and truly entering the inner zone, Lin Moyu put away the Calamity Boat, suppressed his aura, and rode on Xiao Peng towards the center of the West Pole Pure Land.
There was still some distance to the core he needed to fly a while longer.
However, Lin Moyu did not intend to go straight in; he was almost done refining purified water, estimating two more years would yield enough for his plan.
At that point, he could attempt to revive a quasi Supreme, which would greatly boost his overall strength.
Strictly speaking, quasi Supremes cannot leave chaos to act freely, but Lin Moyu had methods this plan would serve two purposes at once.
At this inner distance, he could sense the Chaos Divine Water Beast no longer; the outcome of the Rainbow Bridge chaos was unknown to him.
He had seen the bridge shatter with his own eyes and guessed that not a few must have died, but whatever the result, it had nothing to do with him; it was the Chaos Divine Water Beast who killed, not himself.
Such is the way of cultivators they defy the heavens and risk perishing at any time.
If one cannot accept that, it's better not to set foot on this path at all.
...
Months after the Divine Water Beast's massacre, scenes of the event accompanied by Supreme Xingquan's voice were circulated across the West Pole.
All the locals saw the indiscriminate killing and were enraged, many wishing to seek vengeance against the beast in the Pure Land.
Yet some hesitated because the beast was the West Pole's origin, their spiritual totem, and their hopes for it still lingered.
Then the Supreme's own voice shattered their hope.
As the true leader of the West Pole, the Supreme's words carried immense authority; at this, the Divine Water Beast's legend as a totem collapsed. While not everyone turned away, at least half lost their faith.
The Divine Water Beast's supply of belief power instantly dwindled.
Its hope to resurrect by faith was severed.
Revival, already difficult, was all but doomed even though the beast's unique nature and the support of the Pure Land had carried it this far, Supreme's plot ultimately ended it.
As belief power faded, the beast grew restless. It was not truly intelligent, but instinct sensed disaster.
Over the next year, Lin Moyu met many West Pole cultivators.
Everyone in the inner zone, at minimum, was at the Chaos Realm, and the closer to the center, the stronger the cultivation.
Several times, Lin Moyu conversed with locals, inquiring about the Rainbow Bridge disaster.
The West Polers seemed aloof and unwilling to chat, but remained polite when Lin Moyu asked respectfully, they would respond earnestly.
He learned that over a hundred thousand perished no small number.
The Divine Water Beast went mad that day; even if Lin Moyu didn't deal the killing blow, some bit of karma would still stick to him.
Too much karmic burden is always troublesome, but it couldn't be helped the day was not yet his best moment to act.
Afterwards, the West Pole Pure Land grew unsettled. Many powerful cultivators arrived nearly all of them mighty Full Completion cultivators, their auras brimming with murderous intent.
Lin Moyu guessed, correctly, that many of those killed were their kin or descendants.
What he didn't guess: some were also subordinates of Supreme Xingquan.
Nor did he know that once these experts entered the Pure Land, none approached the true core.
They were there not to kill the beast, but to drive it into the center.
During their efforts, they clashed with the beast multiple times, shaking the void their auras reached Lin Moyu more than once.
Several times, he even heard the beast's furious roars.
The final time, the beast seemed to be almost back at the central zone.
This indicated the beast was no match for the combined might of the Full Completion experts.
In his eighth year in the Pure Land, Lin Moyu reached the boundary between the center and the inner zone.
Here, there was no desolate region just a glowing water light membrane.
Within this barrier was the force of Chaos Divine Water, barring entry to the weak.
Even here, Lin Moyu felt immense pressure.
Based on his cultivation, only Great Completion Chaos experts could stand there minor completion like Lin Moyu wouldn't make it.
To enter the true center, only Full Completion could manage it, and not even all of them would succeed.
Within the core, the Chaos Divine Water's force surrounded everything; as soon as one entered, immense pressure fell at every moment building and building, eventually breaking almost any cultivator.
[Requesting flowers…]
Lin Moyu had prepared for this and already had a countermeasure.
With his soul in Chaos Child's inner world, he held a sphere of purified water: "Almost ready now."
The water wasn't much if separated, perhaps a hundred drops. But it should be just enough to envelop and control the self will of a quasi Supreme.
Chaos Child brought forth a corpse wrapped in purified water: "I'll withdraw the water the rest is up to you."
Lin Moyu nodded, "Watch closely; no accidents allowed."
Chaos Child flattered, "Master is so powerful, there's no way anything could go wrong."
As the purified water was removed, a strong aura burst from the quasi Supreme's corpse.
With that level of power, unless suppressed immediately, the corpse would quickly develop instinctual will
like the titanic beast felled in the past; its flesh was so strong, new will would arise swiftly.
This time, Lin Moyu was prepared he was ninety percent confident he could transform this quasi Supreme into a reborn servant.
A wave of his hand sent the purified water into a thin film covering the corpse.
"Infinite Summon!"
The undying fire enveloped the body the water and fire both belonging to Lin Moyu, their forces did not conflict.
He sensed the change progress was slow, since a quasi Supreme is so powerful.
The water suppressed the corpse, preventing the rebirth of its old mind but with only so much, the suppression was thin.
Chaos Child couldn't help; his water would interfere with the summoning, likely causing it to fail.
Lin Moyu focused all his power into the undying fire, trying to accelerate the revival.
This quasi Supreme had been dead who knows how long, and soul condensation was slow but, since it was from Chaos Child's inner world, its soul remained inside instead of being devoured outside.
After nearly half a day, a wisp of soul flame finally sparked.
Seeing that flicker, Lin Moyu couldn't help but smile it was working!
Chaos Child murmured, "Master, let me suppress the original will."
Lin Moyu nodded, "Careful now the soul is still very fragile."
