Chapter 4464: I Want to Become a Supreme
In chaos, the number of Supremes was strictly limited; of nine possible seats, only one now remains vacant.
That last spot is forbidden to ordinary contenders many tried for it before and always perished, so now no one will dare pursue it.
If Supreme is unreachable, quasi Supreme became the goal for top Perfection cultivators.
Though not perfect like Supreme, quasi Supreme offers strength in specific areas, and even has its own Dao seat.
Tianlang Ancestor desired to become quasi Supreme.
But now a true quasi Supreme stood before him, the unique, crushing pressure like an invisible wall blocking his way.
He never expected that in the affair about the Silverlight Rabbits, a quasi Supreme would get involved.
Earlier, the moment he sensed his bloodline curse tampered with and someone aiming to take his rabbits he tracked the culprit through the curse.
It was Lin, the same man he'd fought in the West Pole Pure Land.
Despite Supreme Xingquan's prior warning not to entangle with Lin Moyu lest karma cause ruin in the coming chaos Tianlang Ancestor couldn't let Lin dig into his home and steal his rabbits.
He planned to settle old and new debts at once.
He didn't believe Lin Moyu could be so strong; surely, if he fought with all his power, he could defeat this mere Minor Completion cultivator.
"He only needs to die and all karma will be washed away," Tianlang thought. As he understood it, kill the man, and all bonds were severed.
What he hadn't foreseen was the arrival of a quasi Supreme a true obstacle, insurmountable by force.
If he tried to fight, he'd die no way around it.
He coughed and tried to maintain dignity. "Senior, why must you block my way?"
Though he knew he couldn't best Ye Yangyan, he maintained his bravado.
Ye Yangyan responded coldly, "My master orders no one is to approach."
Master?
Tianlang Ancestor stared at Lin Moyu, who smiled and nodded behind the wall of undead.
He blurted, "That kid is your master?"
"Silence!" Ye Yangyan snapped, pressing his advantage, making clear he'd fight if needed.
Tianlang Ancestor reeled in shock Ye Yangyan wasn't joking. Lin Moyu truly was his master.
How could a Minor Completion youth command a quasi Supreme? It was against all reason.
But thinking back to the West Pole Pure Land fight, it suddenly seemed logical; Lin Moyu there had battered him like a training dummy.
"Could he be the reincarnation of that Supreme?"
Tianlang Ancestor's thoughts leaped to the empty Supreme seat, once held by the strongest; now gone. If Lin Moyu was that person's reincarnation everything fit.
Supreme Xingquan's warning seemed to confirm his suspicion.
Tianlang's view of Lin Moyu subtly shifted; at the very least, he could not treat him as an ordinary cultivator.
Then Lin Moyu's voice rang out, "I have no desire to kill you. I need the Silverlight Rabbits. When I'm done, let's talk."
Lin Moyu's tone was equal, but firm; to Tianlang Ancestor, it felt precisely right.
He relented, "Fine!"
He had no choice; even Ye Yangyan alone was enough to stop him.
He still had trump cards, but now was not the time.
He would wait and see what Lin Moyu had in store.
As for the bloodline curse it was of little concern to Tianlang, who could remove or lay it as he wished.
The undead shielded the grassland, ignoring the other tribes outside.
After half a day, the cleansing finished.
With a wave of his hand, Lin Moyu warped the void, and, like a pocket opening, the Azure Silver Grassland vanished before everyone's eyes.
The grassland was gone, the Silverlight Rabbits disappeared.
Tianlang Ancestor twitched, his mouth pulled tight Lin Moyu hadn't waited to negotiate at all. It was more cut and run than a friendly talk.
He felt humiliated yet dared not act.
Lin Moyu approached, setting up a small table. "Would Senior prefer tea or wine?"
Tianlang Ancestor said quietly, "Wine."
Lin Moyu nodded, offering two bottles. "Not the finest, but good enough. Let's drink and talk."
With a gesture, simple dishes appeared on the table; Lin Moyu sat down casually.
Tianlang Ancestor followed suit, unsure of what Lin Moyu intended.
Lin Moyu raised his glass, "I'll be direct I'm taking the Silverlight Rabbit clan. I apologize for the disrespect, but I have a compelling reason, and I'm willing to offer compensation.
If Senior needs anything within my power, I'll see it done."
He drank a cup, poured another, and continued, "Although we've had our differences, as the saying goes, fighting makes friends.
I hope, after today, we can let old resentments go maybe even become friends.
I believe in karma; I want to create good karma, not evil."
Three cups and a few words Lin Moyu tried to be courteous.
Yet a close analysis of his words revealed the underlying message: "The Silverlight Rabbits are mine nothing can change that.
If you cooperate, compensation is possible.
If not, there's nothing more to say; future karma will settle the matter.
Or we can settle it now I don't fear confrontation, I might even come out on top."
Tianlang Ancestor couldn't miss the message. His face soured, but he reined in his temper, "Daoist Lin, your words go far. Even with a quasi Supreme at your side, don't underestimate me.
I have cards left; for one, the Quasi Supreme Xingyue owes me a favor…"
He left the implication hanging he was not defenseless.
Whether the Xingyue Quasi Supreme truly owed him was beside the point; it was a question of Lin Moyu's belief.
Lin Moyu smiled, "Senior misjudges me.
Name your price. I'll see if I can meet it."
Tianlang Ancestor snorted, "Price? I want to be a Supreme can you do that?"
Lin Moyu shook his head. "No. The Supreme seat is already claimed; no one else can take it.
But why not aim for quasi Supreme? That could still be within reach I might be able to help."
Tianlang Ancestor's eyes lit up. "You can help me become quasi Supreme?"
