Chapter 4495: Using Chaos as a Gameboard
When Lin Moyu held the ice crystal in his hand, it wasn't cold instead, it felt somewhat warm and gentle.
He sensed that if he placed his soul inside, it would be protected with formidable defense.
But, if he did so, his soul would also be trapped and unable to escape.
The ice crystal was like a solid cage: while its protection was tremendous, it also sealed the soul within.
Very likely, that was the fate of the Ancient Ice Behemoth once its soul entered the ice crystal, it could never leave.
Moreover, that protection wasn't absolute. Some powers could bypass it and strike the soul directly. For example, World Burning Flame Lin Moyu knew nothing could stop its destruction, not even the ice crystal.
If the ice crystal didn't house a soul, even when fully refined, Lin Moyu could only draw out seventy percent of its power.
"Seventy percent is enough."
Lin Moyu had no intention of risking his soul imprisonment.
For him, the ice crystal was simply a mighty artifact his soul power enabled him to freeze any chaos Great Completion expert, and even impact Perfection levels.
All sorts of divine arts could be instantly frozen, and even major arrays could be sealed.
In front of this ice crystal, nearly nothing in chaos could resist.
This gain was massive the green robed elder had prepared an ocean of materials for Moyu, enough to last for ages.
With these, Lin Moyu revised his plans.
He'd originally intended to go to the North Pole next, but now decided to first retrieve his Fifth World Domain, placing it in his storage space.
He'd also extract the spiritual Miao Domain from the Fifth, cultivating it separately.
Domains Four, Three, Two, and One had all reverted to seeds after the Great Cataclysm now, with enough materials and the Silverlight Rabbit clan, they could all be cultivated together.
Not to mention, the Sky Void was itself a domain and could be integrated as well.
With that, all nine domains would be in his grasp the last step was to find or create a Tenth Domain.
He had already made up his mind about where the tenth would come from.
Under old conditions, raising so many domains would have taken ten million years and a sea of materials he was ready for endless labor in ancient chaos.
But now, with the green robe's materials and the Silverlight Rabbits, everything was simplified.
He projected his consciousness into his storage space and asked the four elders, "How about these materials are they enough?"
All four nodded; the chief elder replied, "Absolutely they're more than enough to perfect several domains."
"How long would it take for ten domains?" Lin Moyu asked.
After a silent exchange, the chief elder said, "Each domain would take about a thousand years, so ten would mean ten thousand."
"It also depends on how good the starting point is."
Lin Moyu: "Assume they start as seeds."
"Then it will take two to three times longer."
"If there are more people involved?"
"It could be faster, but likely still close to ten thousand years."
Lin Moyu let them work and went to see Yinda.
Yinda was already awakening; his power and cultivation were about to firmly settle.
After checking that everything was fine, Lin Moyu said, "Yinda, follow my instructions find eleven top tier chaos Great Completions."
"I'll be back in a few days; I hope you'll be ready."
Yinda, filled with adoration for Lin Moyu, replied, "Don't worry, Sir Lin, I'll see it done."
He was full of respect Lin Moyu had miraculously helped him reach Perfection level without a domain, breaking the laws of heaven and earth.
Though his realm hadn't outwardly changed, Yinda knew his strength had reached Perfection a state only possible here, but that was fine with the Silverlight Rabbits, who never wanted to leave.
They simply wished to live, prosper, and pass down generations.
Having issued his orders, Lin Moyu exited the storage space and left the room.
Without the mountains of materials, the place was just an ordinary warehouse.
Under a tree outside, Mu Tianze had set up a chessboard, playing against himself.
When Lin Moyu stepped out, Mu waved; his opponent vanished in smoke.
He smiled, "Daoist Lin, want a game?"
Lin Moyu shook his head, "I only know how to fight I'd let you down, senior."
Mu didn't mind; he only laughed, "You just haven't lived long enough. Someday, when you tire of fighting, you'll pick up new amusements like playing chess with a chess soul."
As they spoke, Lin Moyu saw the immense chessboard a chaos treasure, with 999 lines each way, covered in joined pieces.
Its complexity was staggering; even a glance would kill a mortal with confusion.
Lin Moyu realized this was not just chess, but a mental trial Mu was playing against himself, refining his will.
Mu asked, "How does my chessboard seem to you, Daoist Lin?"
Lin Moyu replied, "It's a chaos level treasure, but your way of heart is even greater. Senior, are you preparing for quasi Supreme?"
Mu laughed, "Brilliant though you don't play, you grasp the subtleties at a glance. I do wish to prove the Dao by chess, but the final step is too difficult I feel something's missing."
Lin Moyu's eyes lit up, "If I may, I have a thought."
"Do go on," said Mu.
Lin Moyu explained, "Proving the Dao by chess is right, but there's one mistake: chess needs an opponent. Senior, having long found no one to play, made a chess spirit.
But a chess spirit lacks true life the very spark you need."
Mu listened attentively.
"Chess is the art of contest. With an opponent there is victory and defeat thus, life and death. The battle is not only on the board, but across the whole of chaos.
Just look: South Pole is at war, North threatens, West arms, the East is secretive isn't this a chess match?"
"Why not use this as your board?"
Mu's eyes lit up; the chessboard shifted, reorganizing into east, south, west, north, and center, with upper and lower layers.
It became chaos itself the conditions of each pole now within.
Mu moved the pieces as if maneuvering chaos itself.
"Using chaos as the board, all beings as pieces what a game!"
He sighed, "Daoist Lin, your vision surpasses the ordinary; I am enlightened by your words. If I prove the Dao, this favor will not be forgotten!"
