Glorious Saints Era.
All other Era's left their mark on this planet, Kepler.
Especially the Advanced technology era, and the least being the modern era.
But unquestionably, hands down, the glorious saints era wears the crown of Era's.
The Great Catastrophe era ended the Advanced technology Era. The humans lost many inventions as well as innovators, but they didn't lose the knowledge and history.
Most of the creations can be recreated given the resources, tools and engineers.
The Glorious saints era began when humans finally reached the peak of the power system they created with its foundation being natural energy.
During the Era of Resurgence humans finally learned to absorb natural energy thanks to the efforts of the powerhouses known as the talented and the blessed.
They didn't learn to do it naturally of course like the beast, instead they used their knowledge.
Using advanced knowledge of the human body and ancient methods related to breathing, physical exercises, and medicine they were able to create techniques used to absorb the natural energy.
Back to the Original Glorious Saints, one being the founder of Horo's family.
There was eleven of them.
The glorious isn't an empty word in the title.
It's a tier of power unreachable in the current era.
Currently in the Era of Abundance the power system of Kepler is completely established.
Everything is ranked and graded.
Blessings and God-Given Talents, also known as talented, have five graded.
The grading system was created before the rank system and it only changed a little after the ranking system came into existence.
Grades are in this order Lesser, Higher, Superior, Grand, Fairy-Tale.
So one would be called a Lesser blessed, or lesser talented and so on.
Those who absorbed natural energy successfully birthed gifts.
Gifts come in many forms, and affinities.
One's gift could be a flaming sun shooting bow, or a vicious beast made of darkness.
Gift's rarely appear identical to another.
Gifts are ranks from one being the lowest to seven being the highest.
However Glorious Saints have battle power acceding rank seven and Superior Fairy-Tale Blessing holders.
Two special ranks of blessings were created because some Fairytale blessings matched the power of rank six and seven gifts while others reached the glorious level.
Glorious level are still rank seven, but are far stronger than even peak rank sevens nearing the realm beyond, the rank rumored as the "Stellar" rank. A rank granting the ability to travel the void beyond their world.
It's well known that demon beast a normally stronger than humans of the same ranks but there's the exception of prodigies.
All glorious saints were able to kill demon beast emperors, something other rank seven's can't do, and cleared the majority of the lands to re-establish human civilization.
Demon beast still run the oceans mostly and regions of the sky, but the humans have taken back eleven of the twelve continents, as well immeasurable archipelago.
Bloodlines matter because any rank five or above
The last continent wasn't conquered because it is actually rumored to be a stellar ranked beast that mostly slumbers and doesn't interfere with worldly affairs.
The glorious saints of course did what they did for humanity, but they certainly monopolized land and resources for their descendants.
Bloodline mattered with gifts. Once one reached a certain rank their bloodline will began absorbing traits of their gifts and affinities right along with the soul creating a heritage like Horo's.
Horo's family may have declined a lot compared to the other glorious families, but they were still highly valued due to their heritage and specialty.
His family's gifts are known to be related to gems, and everything similar. What makes them special is they have a history of gifted to have second awakenings granting them a complimentary gift.
Even then, they are mostly valued for their talents in arrays and talismans, professions created during the advanced technology era by combining technology and ancient methods.
In actual fighting power their family currently sits around rank six, but in influence and foundation they probably have the most reach and deepest pockets.
Which isn't a good things when you can't protect it, luckily the relationships and alliances still provided layers protect for decades during decline.
His family is situated in the Immeasurable Archipelago where there is a ridiculous amount of competition, including a glorious family they never got along with.
They have one of the most giant and resourceful islands in the archipelago and making powers around the world have been coveting everything belonging to them during their decline.
His family doesn't have a rank seven holding the fort like other Glorious families, but they have the most rank six powerhouses and alliances.
Horo's father Ignis Gemma is a peak rank six, as well as his mother.
Yet none of their current alliances, or even two dozen peak rank six powerhouses could stop a middle rank seven let alone peak rank seven that truly, had reason to annihilate them.
Luckily they prevented all schemes to obtain reason from ever succeeding.
Many things began to change for the better when Horo was born though.
