Chapter 7 - Jin The Black Smith

After spending days traveling through fields, harsh roads and even graveyards, the caravan had finally arrived upon the town of "Mumbai". What would seem like a hectic journey for most, was almost close to a joy ride for those that were present in that caravan.

I always make sure to join the band of groups that ride in this particular caravan. You probably don't know but, this one right here is known as the "journey to your dreams". {Jin the blacksmith stated! referring to the caravan they just alighted from}

It is always a blast with these people. Anyway I believe it is here that we must part ways, surely I'm not the only one who enjoyed our ride together. What a shame though, I would have loved to get to know you much better. {addressing Raphael who was distracted by the huge gate that stood right in front of his eyes}

Compared to other towns and cities in the empire, the town of "Brogue" was quite a small one seeing as it was neglected by the empire, food shortage was common and poverty run wild through the town. One might say it was on the path of ruin.

Star struck by the impressiveness of the huge gate he stood, with no movement whatsoever as if frozen by cold ice. Calling out to him was the blacksmith who was desperately trying to get his attention. **Raph**Raphael**

{finally turning to look his way}

So I'm going to be leaving now, do you perhaps need someone to guide you through town or will you be fine on your own?

*********

{Without getting a response, the blacksmith said his good bye's and headed off first into the town}

Not too long after they separated had he noticed Raphael who has been following

him ever since he made off.

Raphael who had been following the blacksmith for quite sometime now, seemed to have no intentions of hiding his presence and was tailing him blatantly. However, Jin made no attempts to halt his approach or to confront him about his intentions, as he headed straight to his shop.

Not being able to understand the concept of the structure and cheerfulness of the crowd, was *Raphael* as he continued to follow *Jin*. Although his gaze was admiring the things around him, he was still fixated on tailing the blacksmith.

Seems to me that there is yet a lot more things for me to see, the world beyond me really is amazing. Had I still been wandering the wastelands, who knows when I was going to see such buildings. {Raphael! Thinking to himself}

After a long walk from the gates of the town, *Jin* had finally made it back to his smithing shop. And so did *Raphael* who followed him all the way. Both parties stood side by side as they gazed at the old shop, which was built out of wood and structured in such a way that depict a house.

Welcome! To my humble abode, where swords are brought to life from hard work and the pure sweat of dedication. {Said Jin as he opened the door which brought out a wave of dust}

Feel free to look around and scope out the place. Don't break anything, if you do, you might spend your entire life working for me.

{Addressing Raphael who was already checking out the place}

As someone who had no connection to the world days ago, surprised as he might have been, he was no stranger to weapons. *Raphael* was able to notice that, the things that lay round and those that were hung on the walls were all meant for hunting prey.

After a short while of silence between the two acquaintances, *Jin* would make his attempt to ask questions about why he was followed to his shop. But before he could utter a word, was when *Raphael* asked if he could stay with him.

Up until now, I've had to live alone for all my life. Trying to survive by hunting was the only way I know to feed, and knowing nothing had me kill some people who looked just like you and I to survive. I will do anything you ask me to if I can, and I have no other place to go. So even if you make me leave, I'll probably sleep outside your door.

{Raphael started opening up to Jin and telling him about what he's been through. Although, he wasn't able to speak fluently the human tongue, so his words were not much but understandable to some extent}

*Jin the blacksmith had been teaching bit by bit during their time on the caravan*

Outstanded by the current situation, the blacksmith was dumbfounded and had no idea what to do or how to act. He could only stay quiet and listen attentively to his story.

The caravan had a rule about not digging into people's life's, however, that rule was only in effect if both parties were present on the caravan. That not being the case now, *Jin* decided to ask about the reason why he had no name to begin with.

For as long as I can remember, the wastelands were where I was until ending up here. I was not given a name and there was no need for one, that is, untill we crossed paths and you gave me a name.

Soon after *Raphael* made that statement, *Jin* had a flashback about a story he had heard once about a child who was thrown away from birth. However it did not serve to prove much, considering the fact that there are many children at orphanages.

That thought aside, the blacksmith cared nothing about the reasons behind his abandonment as a child. After *Raphael's* tragic story about his past, all he said to him was *do what you want to do*.

It seemed as though *Jin* was willing to give shelter to the hand that was in need. Upon hearing that response , *Raphael* felt in him a sign of relief.
