After a night of wild celebration, there were still tasks that needed attention.
Arthur didn't waste time on other matters; early the next morning, he sought out Natasha and borrowed Brock from her.
He planned to take Brock on a trip to the Asgardian realm.
Brock was practically on a pilgrimage as he followed Arthur out of Camp Lehigh. When a beam of rainbow light appeared in the sky, Brock's eyes widened in amazement.
They stepped onto the rainbow light, and moments later, the two arrived at the Bifrost Hall.
Heimdall glanced at Arthur, then at Brock beside him. His extraordinary eyes narrowed slightly, and his brow furrowed: "I hope what you've brought this time isn't a disaster."
Arthur's heart skipped a beat.
He wasn't worried about Venom himself, but Heimdall's expression made him wonder if the Asgardians had no defenses against Venom.
If that were the case, then the hope of placing that comet in Asgard might be dashed.
…
Leaving the Bifrost Hall, Arthur spread his wings, grabbed Brock's shoulders, and flew straight toward the Golden Palace.
Along the way, Brock's excitement was palpable. Whether it was the Bifrost, the Golden Palace, or the entire landscape of Asgard, everything left him speechless.
"You know? If I were still a broadcaster, just this one news story would have fed me for life!"
After landing, Brock was still thrilled, though his legs felt weak and his hair was a bit tousled…
"If you were still that broadcaster, hmm, I wouldn't have brought you here," Arthur said, glancing at him. "Wait for me here a moment."
At the palace entrance, two Asgardian Valkyrie guards immediately bowed in salute to their God of War.
Arthur nodded and walked directly into the hall.
Inside, only Loki was seated on the throne, one leg dangling off the armrest, his pale and hollow face staring blankly at the ceiling.
When Arthur entered, Loki was startled but relaxed upon recognizing him: "In all of Asgard, no one but you would dare to barge into my palace like this."
"Less nonsense," Arthur said, eyeing him before asking, "Any news on what I asked about last time?"
"The big events happening in the universe?" Loki replied. "Indeed, a lot has happened. For example, a war broke out between two planets. After the big battle, hardly anyone on either side died, but their livestock were completely wiped out. I suspect the reason for this war might be that during some unfriendly exchanges, their animals had hostile encounters, which escalated into conflict…"
Arthur twitched at the corner of his mouth. What kind of chaotic nonsense was this?
"And more?"
"More?" Loki continued, "There was a princess from one civilization who fell for a beggar from another. Things happened between them that children shouldn't know about. As a result, the princess issued a decree to hold a ball with three questions. If any young man could answer all three, he could marry her! The beggar found out and managed to sneak into the palace to attend the ball. So, guess what happened?"
"…They got married?"
"No. The beggar eloped with the princess's mother, while the princess fell in love with a prince from another nation. This story clearly tells us that so-called lovers aren't always truly in love; feelings are often just momentary impulses."
Damn!
What kind of chaos is this?
Arthur felt as if his soul had been violently shaken in the last three minutes.
"Anything else?" Arthur asked.
"Anything else…" Loki looked at Arthur. "Someone launched a suicidal attack, sacrificing a top-tier warship, trying to kill a notorious villain known throughout a certain universe. But the result wasn't ideal. The warship exploded, and the villain only sustained a minor injury. The entire universe is now investigating the cause of this incident."
"That might be a sad story… Anything more?" Arthur pressed.
"What exactly do you want to know?" Loki frowned.
Arthur said, "Actually, I'm planning to start a media company soon, so…"
"Alright then." Loki rolled his eyes. "I have no interest in your business! None at all! What you asked me to do, I've done, and I don't intend to stretch this into any other issues. So, if there's nothing else, you can leave."
"I'm afraid not," Arthur replied. "There's one more thing I hope you can help me with. You can think of it as… a request!"
"A request?" Loki pressed his twitching eyebrows together: "You said you wouldn't force me to do anything!"
"Not forcing you, so it's a request," Arthur clarified. "I hope you can assist me."
"What if I say no?"
"Then I'll have to ask Thor to help me. Just tell me where he is, and I'll find him. I definitely won't trouble you."
Arthur's words hung in the air.
Loki's face darkened. This was clearly a threat, a blatant threat, absurd and vicious!
Finally, he exploded in anger: "What is it?"
…
…
Brock stood idly at the edge of the Golden Palace, admiring the view of Asgard. Just as he was enjoying himself, Arthur's voice came from behind: "Stop looking and come with me."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Brock felt a hand on his shoulder, lifting him off the ground.
"Did I ever tell you I'm a bit afraid of heights?" Brock growled. "So, if you want to fly me around, that's fine, but can you at least warn me beforehand?"
"I promise I'll warn you next time." Arthur checked their direction, flapped his wings, and the rush of wind whistled past. Moments later, they were far away.
After flying for about ten minutes, Arthur landed in a deserted area, a secluded spot surrounded by dense forest, filled with many unknown beasts and wild animals.
"What is this place?" Brock asked. "The primordial forest of the gods?"
"That's a fairly accurate way to put it." Arthur looked up at the sky, then suddenly glanced behind him: "Where did you come from?"
"I wasn't flying here with you…" Brock started to say, but Venom's voice cut in: "He's not talking to you. Look behind you!"
Turning around, Brock saw a man cloaked in a green robe, slowly walking out from the woods.
