Trigger warning : (mild) Violence.
Screams filled the dimly lit room, the walls re-echoing the groans that spilled from the man that laid beaten and battered on the cold floor. He tried curling himself into a ball to stop the pain that dug into his flesh, the posture doing nothing to soothe his growing anguish. He turned his eyes to the man that had been torturing him for almost two hours or God knows what and he gritted his teeth.
Fucking bastard.
Xavier Castillo was an elusive young billionaire businessman in the eyes of the whole world but people who had dealings in the underworld knew the man was a fucking danger to society. How else would he have gotten the name, 'the young Mafia lord.'
People respected him. Maybe respect wouldn't be the right word to use. They feared him, revered him because he was a person you couldn't afford to offend. Even the older people who had been in the underworld for long never strayed into his territories without permission.
He was ruthless in his ways and everybody knew to stay out of his business. "You'll fucking rot in hell!" The man on the floor shrieked so loudly, his voice almost shook the the walls. "What a nice confession you have there. I see you finally found your voice," Xavier said, his figure shrouded in the shadows and he leaned forward to have a good look at the man laying before him.
The little light in the room reflected on his face, and his darkened eyes made a whimper escape from the beaten man's lips. He wanted to go home.
"It seems we have treated this one a little too well. He still has the strength to spew nonsense," he looked at the men that had been the ones torturing the man all this while and the two people looked at each other.
Xavier got up from his seat and he slowly circled the man, taunting him and his heart sank in fear. He came to stand in front of him and crouched to his level but by doing so he intentionally stepped on his already wounded hand, putting all his weight on the man's hand as he bent.
This elicited a painful groan from him and he tried to muffle his voice. "Do you think I'm here to play games with you?" He tilted his head to the side, studying the injured man's scrunched up face.
"You can kill me if you dare. I will never tell you anything!" He spat the words at Xavier, his blood stained teeth coming into view. Xavier chuckled as he got up, pushing back the hair that had come to settle on his face.
"I don't think you really understand what's going on here—his expression hardened—You're not any of my concern if that is what you're counting on." Xavier's lips curled with mirth,"I hear you have a wonderful family. A wife and two kids is it?" When the man's eyes widened, he knew he had him exactly where he wanted.
"I'll fucking kill you!" He doubled over as he tried to raise himself off the floor. He seethed with unrestrained anger at the mention of his family and all he wanted to do was claw the face of the arrogant man who towered over him. "Now we both know you don't want your family involved in your shitty life. I'm giving you ten minutes to decide your fate and theirs," Xavier said as he walked back to his seat.
"You're a fucking monster." He heard the man on the floor whisper so lightly, he might not have caught it if it wasn't for his sharp ears. He grinned. That's what they all said.
Xavier didn't care what people thought of him, well except for the little miss with light green eyes. After dropping her off, he had been informed that the man they had been searching for all this while had been found and he found himself here. He looked at her kerchief that was tightly wound around his palm and he rubbed it.
"I can't believe you started the fun without me dear favourite cousin," Kaian walked in with his hands tucked in his pockets, his pout making Xavier almost want to roll his eyes. The two guys that were already in the room bowed at the young master that had entered. Xavier was known as the Mafia lord but Kaian was the literal prince of darkness.
Unlike his cousin who rarely enjoyed torturing people, except when absolutely necessary, Kaian was quite the opposite; he delighted in it. He liked to do the dirty work himself, believing that no one could do the work exactly how he wanted.
The man on the ground whose code name was Fisher, in the underworld stiffened at the voice that just spoke in the room. If he thought Xavier was a demon, then the one that had entered was the actual devil.
"Is this our dear friend?" And his eyes fell on the man that had started backing away from the brothers, praying to all the gods who could hear him to come to his rescue but even he knew it was futile against the two powerful people in the room with him.
"You're late," Xavier reprimanded.
"Apologies, dear cousin, a fiery thing delayed me," he turned to his cousin, his eyes glistening with mischief and he didn't bother to elaborate further on the matter.
Xavier didn't want to know the details.
Whatever it was, he knew Kaian had it under control.
"Let me make it up to you by taking it from here," he said, and without waiting for his cousin's response he turned again to the man that was now so far away.
"I would have said you reminded me of my fiery thing but it's just naivety not stupidity," a sardonic chuckle escaped after his statement and he made his way to Fisher, stopping the two guys that wanted to drag him back to his initial position.
"Where are the tools?" He asked and one of the men pointed to his right. He walked towards it and rummaged through the things in the box. Getting a hold of what he had in mind he took it out and looked gleefully at the little thing in his hand.
"I hear you have been a very naughty man."
