Startled by the sudden hand on her back, Xu Jiaxin jumped. Fortunately, the hand gently but firmly steadied her.
"You're here so early today?"
The man behind her was Long Santai, owner of the Fangye Bar and deputy leader of the Kawai Group. He casually draped an arm over Xu Jiaxin's shoulder. It looked like an embrace, but he was actually supporting her, steadily guiding her toward the entrance of the Fangye Bar.
"Don't be nervous. Relax. That way, they won't get suspicious."
A natural smile on his face, Long Santai shielded Xu Jiaxin from view.
Only then did Xu Jiaxin notice her own body was trembling. She hadn't realized that even though she was used to seeing power struggles, she couldn't control her own nervousness and fear when it was her turn to be involved.
As she regained her composure, the various gazes fixed on her finally shifted away, her presence no longer drawing any special attention.
