These words sent another shock through the crowd.
This guy sure has some nerve, speaking to the police with that tone. Does he have a death wish?
The two policemen's faces darkened. "What, you want to stop us from leaving?" one of them said grimly.
Mother Lin was extremely anxious. "Xiao Mu, it's better to let things go. Since the investigation is clear, let's just forget about it," she urged, pulling Lin Mu back in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.
But Lin Mu said, "Mom, haven't you realized? These people are all in it together."
"What? They're in it together?" Mother Lin was just an ordinary woman; she had no idea about the complex scheme at play.
With a cold sneer, Lin Mu continued, "Not only are they in cahoots, these two aren't even real cops."
What? Impersonating officers? The crowd was shocked. Who would dare to impersonate police officers? Did they have no regard for their lives?
