When Fourth Master returned to Yuxiu Palace, it was already August.
They had returned to the capital in June and hadn't seen each other for a month.
Upon meeting again, Ye Zao first gave Fourth Master a big eye roll. She didn't speak, just stood there.
"What's wrong? Do you have an eye twitch?" Fourth Master smiled at her.
"Has His Majesty looked in the mirror? So ugly." Ye Zao snorted, pulling Fourth Master's hand.
Fourth Master obediently let himself be pulled in, then was handed a cup.
Before even opening it, he could smell the aroma of longan, red date, and ginger tea.
Indeed, upon opening, it was—with red sugar. Fourth Master laughed helplessly: "I don't drink this."
Ye Zao immediately stood up: "Send His Majesty back to the palace!"
"Alright, alright, I'll drink!" Fourth Master felt put on the spot: "You've become increasingly unruly."
Fourth Master took a sip, finding it sweet; drinking this in the hot summer was indeed too warm.
Yet he still drank it.
