Prince Zhi, having visited Mingzhu, proceeded to the garden to report to the Fourth Master.
The Fourth Master listened to his words, his brow furrowed.
Prince Zhi said, "The Imperial Physician's opinion is that it is now just a matter of enduring day by day. Sustained by herbal decoctions daily, eating has become difficult. If fortunate, he may endure another year; if not, he may not make it through."
"How does Minister Ming feel?" asked the Fourth Master.
"In response to His Majesty, Minister Ming is in good spirits. He held my hand and expressed his gratitude to Your Majesty. He said that over the years, he has accomplished many things and his life has not been in vain." This is true.
The conversation today ended with Mingzhu in such a state.
He even spoke of Taiwan Island and the fleet, a light kindling in his eyes.
"Alas," the Fourth Master sighed, "Mingzhu, despite his flaws, was indeed a talented minister! What a pity."
