Chapter 384 - 383: How To Pick Up Girls

BOOMMMMM!

The thick and dense yellow-red beam enveloped Yun Wuji, swallowing his figure entirely. After consuming him, it continued along its path for thousands upon thousands of kilometers, streaking across the sky and leaving behind a blazing trail that could be seen from incredibly far away. When it finally faded, only a long black line stretched across the air, distorting the surrounding space with ripples that lingered in its wake.

The Qilin God stared at the scene before it with its enormous eyes, but before it could react, an unimaginably heavy force struck its body and sent it flying like a comet. The shockwaves from the impact tore through the surroundings, unleashing apocalyptic spatial storms in every direction.

The beam from earlier had only struck his afterimage. Yun Wuji appeared at the Qilin God's left and slashed with his sword, sending the divine beast flying.

"This beast actually has such an attack. That was a close call. If I were hit, I would have lost some of my hair!" Yun Wuji rested his sword on his shoulder and patted his chest with a frightened expression.

Having dealt with the Qilin God, Yun Wuji once again turned his attention to the Sword Immortal, Hua Qingying.

She was exactly as the rumors described, an extremely beautiful woman. It was as if every radiant wave of beauty in the world had been gathered into her eyes, making her resemble a stunning goddess painted by the hands of a world-class artist. Her skin was flawless like polished jade, and her lips and nose seemed personally sculpted by the gods themselves.

It felt as though the heavens had poured all of their resources and effort into shaping this single face.

Looking at Hua Qingying, Yun Wuji felt that her beauty was in no way inferior to Chi Wuyao's. While Chi Wuyao was seductive, Hua Qingying's charm was rooted in elegance and purity. Chi Wuyao was a Demonic Succubus, whereas Hua Qingying was a cold Goddess.

Even so, if he truly had to choose between the two, Yun Wuji would still pick Chi Wuyao. The Devil Queen always knew exactly how to make him happy whenever he was with her.

Still, Hua Qingying was worthy of her reputation. She was the woman who had driven countless high and prestigious men to obsession, leaving them simping for her for thousands of years.

Yun Wuji was not surprised by her sudden appearance. In fact, the main reason he had fought the Qilin God was to draw her attention. As for how he knew she would come, it was naturally because of the Thread of Fate.

Without saying a word to her, Yun Wuji raised the arm holding his sword and pointed it at her. From its tip, a dense silver sword light burst forth and shot straight toward her.

Swoosh!

The sword light was as powerful as the yellow-red beam the Qilin God had unleashed earlier, but it was faster, far faster.

In the blink of an eye, it was already upon Hua Qingying. Her expression grew serious as her heart churned with torrential waves.

This man's strength and sword attainment were astonishingly high. She was very familiar with the Qilin God, and as someone who frequently ventured into the Endless Fog, she had encountered it several times and even used it as a whetstone for her own training.

She understood very well the terror of the Qilin God. If she stood at the very limits of humanity, then it stood at the very limits of abyssal beasts. Yet the man before her was dominating the Qilin God completely, even finding the spare time to attack at her as well.

The sword beam radiated a dense and terrifying aura, one so overwhelming that even she, known as the strongest person beneath the True God Realm, felt threatened by it.

Hua Qingying no longer cared about anything else. Her sleeves billowed and her long hair flew wildly as she unleashed the entirety of her profound strength without reservation.

Boom——

She turned, brandishing the Immortal End Sword, and swept forth thousands of dazzling sword beams.

The two forces collided in a terrible blast. However, the silver sword beam shattered her thousands of strikes the instant they met, breaking them apart one by one like fragile glass.

It was as if a beam of annihilation had appeared, destroying everything it touched, even the fragile space around it. Hua Qingying's pupils contracted at the sight.

She was a sword fanatic, an immortal of swords. All her life, she had believed that, aside from Hua Caili, no one could surpass her in the way of the sword, and especially not someone who wielded a Heavy Sword.

She had always looked down on the way of heavy swords. Heavy swords were violent, brutal, capable of taking on thousands and defending just as many. However, they also consumed an obscene amount of energy and were generally boorish and immoderate. Against powerful enemies who could go toe-to-toe or even overwhelm them, they would most likely run out of strength before the battle was even decided.

Hua Qingying had faced many heavy sword users, and all of them had been crushed under her fast and agile sword. But this was the first time she had seen someone like the man before her. His attacks were devastatingly heavy and violent, capable of sending the Qilin God flying like a sandbag, yet at the same time, they moved with insane speed, so fast that even as she witnessed it, she could hardly believe it was real.

Facing the sword beam that had barely lost any of its power or momentum, her Immortal End Sword extended a lengthy blade, piercing through dozens of meters of space in an instant and shooting straight toward the sword beam.

BOOOMMM!

It was as if the end of the world had arrived. An ear-splitting explosion erupted as purple and silver light collided, producing shockwaves of annihilation that shredded everything for thousands of kilometers.

The sky seemed scarred by two glaring marks, one purple, the other silver.

"Holy shit! What is that?!!!" The shockwaves reached all the way to the people on the periphery of the Endless Fog. From a distance, it looked as if the Endless Fog itself had been split in two, the two scars merging together like the Sword of Heaven cleaving the world in half.

"Are True Gods fighting there?!!" Countless profound practitioners watched in disbelief as the two scars that had split the Endless Fog refused to fade, even after a long, long time.

...

"Why are you fighting her?" Inside the Sky Poison Pearl, Li Suo asked, confused. From her impression, Yun Wuji was extremely lustful, and a large part of what he enjoyed in life was the company of women. She could not understand why he would pick a fight with her for no reason instead of trying to approach her.

"You really are dumb to ask such a simple question. Isn't it obvious that he is trying to pick her up?" It was not Yun Wuji who answered, but Hei Xiaolian, staring at Li Suo with disdain as she spoke.

"Pick her up? You mean to seduce her? But that doesn't make sense." Li Suo was not offended by Hei Xiaolian's attitude; she was far too used to it. She was more curious about the answer to her question.

"This chick over there is the cold type. No amount of goodwill, good looks, or flirting will move her. Only by leaving a long-lasting impression does someone even have a chance to get into her heart," Hei Xiaolian said, speaking as if giving a lecture, like some expert in the art of picking up women.

"So by defeating her, he'll make her interested and she'll seek him out later to fight him again?" Li Suo was not dumb; she understood quickly.

Roaar!

Swoosh!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

While Yun Wuji fought Hua Qingying, the Qilin God, which had been out of commission for a few seconds, rejoined the battle. It attacked both of them, and in an instant, the fight became a three-way clash.

However, even though the Qilin God targeted both, most of its attacks were aimed at Yun Wuji, the tiny human who had been beating it since earlier, charging at him with its horn.

Yun Wuji blocked the horn with his heavy sword. Without looking back, he raised his arm and unleashed countless sword beams that obliterated Hua Qingying's attack.

Neither of them spoke a single word to the other, as if they were not interested in knowing each other. They simply continued to attack. Yun Wuji showed no intention of asking why she was here, and she had no intention of explaining herself or clarifying her position.

It was as if the two simply wanted to fight, and so they did.

Bang! Rumble!

Yun Wuji stomped the ground, channeling his strength into the arm holding his sword to push the Qilin God away. He spun around and kicked the beast in the head, sending it flying. At the same time, he gripped the sword with both hands and slashed in the air, creating a large arc that cut toward Hua Qingying.

The arc was enormous and thick, moving with incredible speed, far more powerful than the sword beam from earlier.

The light in Hua Qingying's eyes turned into a sword, and the Immortal End Sword shone brightly in her hands, its ringing loud and undying.

She slowly looked up. Her body, heart, soul, intent, and sword merged seamlessly into one, and what was a jade glow emitted a purple hue that looked as brilliant as a fantasy.

Another collision between the two occurred, carving even more scars into the sky.

"Ahh!"

However, this time Hua Qingying was thrown back, letting out a painful, delicate cry as blood spurted from her mouth.

As she steadied herself in midair, the purple light surrounding her dimmed considerably. Her hand holding the sword trembled faintly, and the light in her eyes flickered. She stared at her opponent, who did not follow up on his attack. Instead, he turned his attention to the Qilin God that was lunging at him, let out a complex sigh, and flew away.

She had lost. For the first time in thousands of years, she had actually lost to another human. Although she had not used all her trump cards, her opponent remained clearly more relaxed than she was. It was obvious he was not going all out, yet he fought both her and the Qilin God while still maintaining the upper hand.

After flying a great distance, she turned to stare at Yun Wuji one last time, as if to imprint his image in her mind, before leaving for good.

"She finally left, heh." When she was gone, Yun Wuji muttered with a faint smile, still exchanging blows with the Qilin God.

The fight had been fun. She was incredibly strong, just as her reputation suggested. Now all he had to do was wait for her to come find him.
