The little Spotty quickly grew tired of lying on Malin's lap. It jumped to the ground and began to explore this familiar yet strange world. It ran to the other side of the street, watching everything inside from outside the shop door. The meat at the counter made it excited, but its wariness prevented it from touching the scraps the shopkeeper offered. Instead, it quickly leapt down from the counter and, under the watchful eyes of many, blinked across the street and jumped directly into Malin's arms.
Malin smiled as he picked up little Spotty. He had already sensed that the young man had reappeared nearby. That he didn't show himself meant someone was watching him.
