With his right hand retracting the silk thread, Malin watched the head of the Mimicking Bird's divine champion fall to the dust.
Withdrawing his left hand from the pale-faced Faye in front of him, Malin lowered his head, gently caressing the deformation on her face with his right hand. The Faye before him had bird-like reverse-jointed legs and strange hooves, her eyes pure white, showing no sign of pupils.
Looking at the divine champion kneeling at his feet, Malin sighed.
"I wish to save you, but you have already fallen; my salvation can only be purification."
"Then please purify me, let my wish be granted, for this is the only desire I have in this life." Faye lowered her head, without looking at Malin, instead cradling his right hand in hers, rubbing her face against it.
"Why do you seek death so ardently? It doesn't suit your identity." Malin didn't withdraw his hand again from hers, and instead, he inquired about Faye.
