Ultimately, only one Blackfish managed to retreat successfully.
The sacrifice was worth it.
Trading two Blackfish ships and the lives of over a thousand people aboard them for a battleship was absolutely worthwhile.
With the destruction of that Retribution-class Battleship, Alfonso II's defenses were completely exposed.
