Chapter 715 - Chapter 716: Jurassic Park (Conclusion)

"Hmm."

On the deck of the Whitebeard Pirates' ship, Whitebeard stared at the newspaper in his hands, lost in thought. While most people wouldn't find the idea of using food-related Devil Fruits to create food particularly shocking, for those in desperate need, it was a game-changer.

People like Whitebeard, whose hometown had been devastated by the Heavenly Tribute, or high-ranking officials in the Marines and the Revolutionary Army, would see this as a lifeline.

Warfare was largely about logistics. Even the Marines, despite their resources, were struggling with supplies due to the disruptions caused by Daniel Davis. In theory, the seas were teeming with Sea Kings that could provide an endless supply of food. However, not every place had access to Sea Kings. Otherwise, Luffy wouldn't have nearly starved to death or been poisoned in the original story.

"Whitebeard, I really don't know what to say about him."

After solving Wano's food crisis with the help of Katakuri and his crew, Daniel Davis couldn't help but think about Whitebeard's hometown.

In truth, Wano's food shortage could have been resolved without Katakuri's help. With the strength of Daniel Davis, Esdeath, and the others, a trip to the Calm Belt to hunt a few massive Sea Kings would have sufficed. In fact, Daniel Davis had done just that, sending Chelsia with the Door-Door Fruit and Akame to hunt.

In this world, true powerhouses never lacked food. For example, Impel Down relied on hunting Sea Kings to feed its prisoners, as the Marines' supply lines couldn't meet the demand.

Similarly, the Kuja Pirates on Amazon Lily hunted Sea Kings for food. Even Boa Hancock, as powerful as she was, couldn't plunder enough resources to sustain an entire nation. Daniel Davis had sought the Big Mom Pirates' help not just for variety in food but also to demonstrate that Devil Fruits could be used for purposes other than combat.

Just like ninjutsu in Naruto, which wasn't solely for fighting but also for production.

If Whitebeard had been willing to act, or even just let his commanders handle it, his hometown's food problems could have been solved long ago. But it seemed Whitebeard had never considered this.

While it was true that as a Yonko, Whitebeard had a certain image to maintain, and sending him to hunt for food would have been beneath his status—much like how the Marines wouldn't send an Admiral to chase after pirates with bounties in the millions—it was still baffling that he hadn't thought of it, especially when his hometown was in such dire straits.

Even Dragon, when the Revolutionary Army faced food shortages, would occasionally hunt Sea Kings or purchase food to ensure nutritional diversity.

In fact, Wano had similar issues. Kikunojo and Ashura Doji, with their strength, could have easily hunted Sea Kings to feed themselves. Yet, they chose to go hungry instead. This kind of thinking, especially in a country that was supposed to be opening up to the world, was utterly baffling.

"Forget it. I'm not Whitebeard or the others. How can I know what they're thinking?"

After shaking his head in frustration, Daniel Davis quickly pushed thoughts of Whitebeard and the others out of his mind. After all, he wasn't a savior. He helped Dragon and the Revolutionary Army only when it didn't interfere with his own plans.

If he started thinking like Whitebeard, he might end up like a certain blue idiot, lowering his own IQ in the process.

It had to be said that some pirates' intelligence might not even match that of a certain blue idiot. Take Kozuki Oden, for example. He was played like a fool by Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi, dancing naked for five years. While his initial intention to save Wano's citizens was noble, the result was utterly idiotic.

Dancing once to save a hundred people? Over five years, he never considered how many people Kaido and Orochi would kill in that time. If you did the math, you'd realize he didn't save many people at all. And expecting pirates to keep their promises? If they were trustworthy, they wouldn't be pirates in the first place.

Then there was the infamous hour-long boiling oil punishment. For someone of Oden's strength, with Armament Haki, an hour in boiling oil should have been nothing. This kind of logic made it clear that Wano hadn't been completely destroyed only because Kaido and Orochi weren't much smarter.

"Done. Now, let's see what the Red Scabbards will do. This might be interesting."

Looking at the amusement park constructed from Sky Island clouds, Daniel Davis clapped his hands with satisfaction. In Big Mom's Totto Land, there were amusement parks made of candy, cake, and chocolate. While Daniel Davis didn't have the same resources, he had something even better—Sky Island clouds.

These clouds were perfect for building amusement parks. Their soft, elastic texture made them safe even for high falls, creating the safest amusement park possible.

With Wano now under his control, Daniel Davis wanted to improve the quality of life for its citizens. After all, only when people's living conditions improved could he collect taxes more effectively.

Moreover, the Sky Island cloud amusement park wasn't just for Wano's citizens. With Wano now open to the world, it would attract many outsiders. The novelty of Sky Island clouds alone would draw tourists, potentially making it a significant tourist attraction in the future.

If Wano's citizens were well-fed and content, the Red Scabbards would find it nearly impossible to incite rebellion to restore the Kozuki family's rule. In fact, any attempt to rebel would likely be met with resistance from the citizens themselves.

Thanks to his education in his previous life and his experiences in the Qin's Moon world, Daniel Davis understood that no matter how well he improved Wano, there would always be dissenters. The Red Scabbards would undoubtedly be at the forefront of such dissent. Even if Kozuki Hiyori had no such intentions, it would be difficult to change the Red Scabbards' mindset.

After all, Hiyori was a woman, and for the Red Scabbards, Kozuki Momonosuke was the rightful heir to Wano's throne. They would stop at nothing to see him crowned, much like the resistance movements in the former states of Qin after their conquest.

The situation was shaping up to be quite amusing. The Kozuki family's reputation might very well be ruined.

As for preemptively eliminating the Red Scabbards, Daniel Davis had never considered it. He wasn't like Kaido or Kurozumi Orochi, who relied on brute force. Even if the Red Scabbards managed to sway Luffy to their side, as they had in the original story, Daniel Davis wouldn't be caught off guard.

"Yamato. Whoever thinks Kaido is a fool is the real fool."

Watching Akame and Yamato spar in the large training ground, Daniel Davis gained a deeper appreciation for Kaido's cunning. After Wano began to thrive under Daniel Davis' rule, thanks to Katakuri's help and the country's opening, Kaido had released his daughter, Yamato, from confinement.

Yamato had immediately sought out Daniel Davis and, after a fierce battle with Esdeath, seemed to hit it off with her. She decided to stay and join their group. It had to be said that Yamato, as Kaido's daughter, was incredibly strong. Like her father, she wielded a spiked club, though hers had rounded spikes compared to Kaido's sharp ones. However, the difference was purely cosmetic—getting hit by Yamato's club was just as devastating.

Daniel Davis welcomed Yamato's addition, especially given her strength. However, the more he observed her, the more he suspected that Yamato might actually be the daughter of Kaido and Big Mom.

"This is Seastone weaponry. Akainu, Sengoku, you'll get to taste it soon."

Looking at the array of Seastone weapons before him, Daniel Davis couldn't help but admire the craftsmanship of Wano's blacksmiths. It was no wonder they were capable of creating Poneglyphs.

Seastone was most commonly used in handcuffs, prison cells, and weapons like the Jitte. Swords, spears, and bullets made of Seastone were rare. However, in Wano, such items weren't uncommon. With skilled blacksmiths and an abundance of Seastone, Daniel Davis saw no reason not to make use of it.

It was baffling that Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi, with all their resources, hadn't utilized Seastone weapons more effectively. What a waste.

The materials used to create artificial Devil Fruits in Doflamingo's factory were made of Seastone, after all.

Daniel Davis naturally didn't hold back, equipping Esdeath and the others with Seastone weapons. With their spatial rings, they had plenty of storage space.

"Admiral Zephyr, in the current situation, the World Government hasn't even tried to bring you back. It's truly baffling."

After setting Wano on the right track, Daniel Davis left a shadow clone in charge and departed. However, he didn't leave the world immediately. Instead, he sought out Zephyr.

With the Revolutionary Army's flames burning brightly, the strength of Zephyr's Neo Marines couldn't be ignored. Sengoku, Tsuru, and others had repeatedly urged the Five Elders to revoke Edward Weevil's Warlord status and arrest him. This might have convinced Zephyr to return to the Marines.

Unfortunately, the World Government, prioritizing its image, had rejected Sengoku's requests. While the Warlord system could be abolished—as it was in the original story during the Reverie—it had to be done on the World Government's terms, not under pressure from the Marines.

The Five Elders, having held power for so long, were no fools. For them, Zephyr would have to return voluntarily. They wouldn't extend an olive branch, as it would set a dangerous precedent. If they compromised this time, Sengoku and the others might make further demands.

To be honest, if not for the Celestial Dragons, the World Government under the Five Elders wasn't entirely terrible. But once the Celestial Dragons were involved, everything fell apart.

"Hmph." Zephyr snorted but said nothing. Having served as a Marine Admiral for so many years and trained countless officers, Zephyr had deep feelings for the Marines. Even after retiring, he continued to train new recruits.

In contrast, Sengoku and Garp, after retiring, spent their time traveling the world. This disparity highlighted how unfairly the World Government had treated Zephyr.

Without Zephyr's decades of training new generations of Marines, the organization might have struggled even more during the Great Pirate Era. Instead of the Seven Warlords, there might have been fourteen.

Ruling was never simple. It wasn't just about strength. After all, even the Sage of Six Paths, with all his power, couldn't bring peace to the ninja world.

Even Daniel Davis, after taking control of Wano, had to make compromises with some of the country's nobles.

"Those bastards. After everything the teacher has done, they treat him like this. Now that they're in trouble, they need him again." Ain, Zephyr's loyal student, vented her frustration about Sengoku's recent call to Zephyr, urging him to return for the sake of the greater good.

While Zephyr couldn't bring himself to criticize the Marines or the World Government, Ain had no such reservations. Sengoku, known as the "Buddha" and a former Fleet Admiral, was no saint. He was a pragmatic leader, much like the Third Hokage.

While Zephyr had never questioned Sengoku's intentions before, Daniel Davis' revelations had planted seeds of doubt. With Ain constantly whispering in his ear, those doubts were bound to grow, rendering Sengoku's pleas meaningless.

Ain had delivered a perfect assist.

"Is there any way I can meet Vegapunk? I just need to know which island he's on." Daniel Davis stated his purpose for visiting Zephyr.

If he could locate Vegapunk, he could extract him. Even if that proved difficult, he could still address issues like Kuma and the Pacifistas.

"That might be difficult, but I can try."

Vegapunk's location was one of the World Government's most closely guarded secrets. Even among the Marines, only Admirals and above might know, and even then, not all of them.

"Alright. If that doesn't work, I'll have to go after Kizaru."

"Something's happened. These guys are really something."

Returning to the Marvel world, Daniel Davis checked the news and found a major headline: Jurassic Park, which had been heavily promoted and was trending, had suffered a catastrophic failure on its opening day. Equipment malfunctions had caused numerous casualties.

The cause was absurd: extreme animal rights activists believed the dinosaurs shouldn't be caged and should be set free.
