Shinobi don't like to be in the hospital, but there are very few fools who think iryonins are useless units, and most of them know who they should thank for pulling them out of Shinigami's clutches when they are seriously and fatally wounded.
You could say that most of the non-clan fighters have a vested interest in improving medical services, unlike what's going on now. Will of Fire and all that, but when a friend dies simply because there are too few iryonins and you could be next, even the brainwashed begin to wonder if the village's top brass is on the right track. And through former colleagues, this leverage can be effectively used to undermine Sarutobi's reputation.
It's one thing when you know about the situation from rumors (actively spread by the Nara clan and its allies), and quite another when an iryonin acquaintance complains to you about his life.
In general, the time was spent with use and pleasure, but I returned home at the fourth hour. All my relatives were asleep, so I didn't bother Linley and the little girl who slept with her, so I went to my work cellar, where I could also have a good sleep on the spare futon.
But that could be done later, and for the current night I had another important matter planned that no one but me should know about. Walking from the main room to the warehouse, I stopped near a small cubbyhole hidden by shelving and clicked on a certain spot near the wall with a chakra ejection.
At the same moment, the two nearest stone floor slabs lifted and moved apart, revealing a set of seals in a one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half meter square that encircled the empty space in the center and glowed softly even when passive.
Without hesitation, I stepped forward, sent out an activation pulse, and at the same moment, after waiting out a brief tugging sensation, I found myself in a slightly larger room.
A room that was thirty kilometers away from Konoha and seven hundred meters below the surface of the earth. On the walls, ceiling and floor softly shimmered engraved in stone fuin, reliably hiding from detection by all possible means, including spatial, and the use of a small amount of natural chakra in the camouflage complex, gave the belief that even sennin will not be able to detect my secret laboratory.
And the fact that it is located in the rock and can be accessed only with the help of teleportation complex, developed by me personally, based on the mechanism of summoning, and there is no exit to the surface at all, gave additional confidence.
I'm not Orochimaru to set up his clandestine laboratory for inhuman experiments just a couple of kilometers from Konoha and to worry about normal camouflage only for the entrance, not the entire complex of rooms.
Not even shadow clones can get in here, let alone by other means, because of the slight shift in dimension similar to the closed worlds of summoned animals, so even exceptionally lucky shinobi who get this deep and find themselves in the vicinity will simply float through the lab without realizing there's anything else here but solid rock.
Many thanks to Mito-chan for providing me with the Uzushio tweaks. Of course, she didn't give me a ready-made solution, but she described the basic principle of operation, as well as the seal that allowed me to pull natural chakra from the environment. The clan's gratitude, so to speak.
