Ray and Oliver spent several days sailing toward the Four Mountain Range Island. A week later, their small boat at last reached the island's shores.

After disembarking, Ray looked over his shoulder at Oliver. "Come on, kid. I have to meet someone in this town before we do anything else."

Oliver nodded, then fell into step beside Ray as they headed into town.

_____

Greenery Town

While following Ray, Oliver looked around, observing the town.

Oliver gazed around in awe. Greenery Town was nothing like the village back on Commy Island—calm, warm, and full of rustic wooden homes that gave the place a comforting charm. As they walked in, Oliver saw the townsfolk light up with joy at Ray's arrival, welcoming him with genuine enthusiasm.

Each time the residents greeted him, Ray responded with a bright smile and an easy wave of his hand.

Curious, Oliver glanced at Ray. "People here really like you. Have you been to this town before?"

Ray chuckled softly. "Years ago, when I was still serving in the Navy, a group of pirates raided this town. They sent me to take care of the problem. After that was settled, the townsfolk and I grew close—we've been friends ever since."

Oliver nodded in understanding after Ray's explanation, and together they continued deeper into the town.

When Oliver and Ray reached the outskirts of town, an isolated, weathered wooden house stood before them.

Ray led Oliver to the isolated wooden house and knocked firmly on the door.

"KNOCK, KNOCK,"

 "CRACK."

The door creaked open, and Oliver saw an elderly man in his sixties peering out.

The old man's face was etched with wrinkles, a smoking pipe perched in his mouth. His green eyes gleamed beneath short gray hair and a full gray beard, and despite his advanced age, his muscular build hinted at enduring strength.

The old man wore a dark blue shirt and matching trousers, paired with sturdy brown boots.

When the old man saw Ray, his face lit up with a wide smile. "Ray! What a surprise! It's wonderful to see you, my boy. Come in, please. I'll make some tea so we can catch up—it's been ten years since I last saw you."

Ray smiled at the old man and nodded in appreciation before he and Oliver entered the house together.

_______

Inside The Old Man's house

Ray and Oliver settled into the lounge as the old man disappeared into the kitchen to make some tea.

Once the tea was ready, the old man stepped back into the lounge. He served Ray a cup of freshly brewed tea and gave Oliver a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

With a gentle smile, the old man told Oliver, "Drink up, kid. This hot chocolate is really good." Oliver nodded, smiling gratefully in return.

The old man looked at Ray fondly. "It's wonderful to see you again, my boy. It's been ten long years since you last came. I'm guessing you're here because you need something from me."

Ray took a sip of his tea and grinned. "Still as sharp as ever, huh, old timer? Yeah, I came to ask you for two favors."

After speaking, Ray took another sip of tea, then added with a gentle smile, "But first, let me introduce the kid. This is Oliver—my adopted son."

The old man and Oliver both widened their eyes. A moment later, Oliver gave a faint smile and resumed sipping his hot chocolate.

The old man chuckled, shaking his head. "You? Adopting a son? I never saw that coming, my boy. This is a big responsibility. You sure you can handle it?"

A big tic mark twitched over Ray's eyebrow. He yelled, half annoyed and half amused, "Old man, are you picking a fight with me?"

The old man let out a hearty laugh and shook his head. "No, my boy. I'm simply reminding you that raising a kid is no small matter—you must treat it with seriousness."

After hearing the old man's words, Ray gave a nod of understanding.

After a brief pause, the old man looked at Ray and asked, "Alright, now tell me—what are these favors you want from me?"

From the small backpack resting on his shoulder, Ray retrieved a blueprint and offered it to the old man.

The old man examined the blueprint carefully, nodding in admiration at the design. He looked up just as Ray said, "I want you to build a restaurant in this town. Here's the blueprint for the building. That's my first favour. For the second, I need you to fill out the registration form on my behalf."

The old man sighed and nodded. "Fine… I still owe you for saving my life. I'll do it for you."

Ray smiled at the old man. "Thank you, old man. That'll be a huge help."

After the old man agreed to fulfill Ray's requests, they chatted for half an hour. When their conversation ended, Ray and Oliver bid the old man farewell and left his house.

After stepping out of the old man's house, Oliver asked Ray. "So, where are we going now, Ray?"

Ray smiled at Oliver and said, "We'll go to the blacksmith to get you a training sword, so I can start teaching you swordsmanship."

Oliver looked puzzled and asked, "Why not just go to a sword shop? Buying a pre-made sword would be more convenient, since visiting a blacksmith means waiting for it to be forged."

When Ray heard this, he chuckled. "You'd be right if it were a typical blacksmith shop, but it's not. This place is both a blacksmith and a weapon shop—and the only shop in town that sells swords."

Oliver smiled and nodded before following Ray as they made their way toward the Greenery Town blacksmith shop.

______

Greenery blacksmith shop

"Ding, Dong,"

As the doorbell echoed through the Greenery blacksmith shop, the owner left his forging room. His eyes lit up, and he smiled widely when he saw who had arrived.

"Well, well, if it isn't Ray, it has been so long; you little bastard, how have you been?" The shop owner greeted Ray aethusiacly.

Ray smiled at the shop owner, who looked to be in his late fifties. Broad-shouldered and muscular, he had a bald head, deep brown eyes, a long, well-kept beard, and skin bronzed from years under the sun.

He wore dark green pants, an Onyx T-shirt, and black boots.

Ray smiled at the shop owner. "Good to see you too, Steven. It's been ten years."

While Ray chatted with Steven, Oliver wandered around the shop, his eyes widening at the sight of the weapons hanging on the walls.

There were swords, sabers, axes, spears, hammers, bows and arrows, and countless other weapons.

Steven gave Ray a serious look. "A few years back, I got a skillful-grade sword. Interested in buying it? It's called Suigetsu."

Ray arched an eyebrow, intrigued. "Interesting," he said. "Let's see this sword."

With a smirk, Steven stepped back into the forging room and emerged holding a gleaming light blue sword.

The sword's handle and sheath were both light blue, while its guard was a gleaming golden cross.

Steven passed the sword to Ray, and Ray drew it from its sheath.

Ray's eyes lit up at the sight of the sword's gleaming blade.

The sword's blade shimmered like clear water, its double-edged tip gleaming—a true work of art. Steven smirked as he watched Ray marvel at Suigetsu.

Steven turned to Ray and said, "If you truly want it, it's yours—no charge."

Ray's eyes widened in shock, and he stared at Steven in disbelief. Steven continued, "Suigetsu was my sensei's family heirloom. Before he passed, he entrusted it to me and instructed that I give it to a swordsman who would honor it."

Steven took a deep breath before pressing on. "You are one of the most respected swordsmen I know. I am certain you will honor Suigetsu. I am merely fulfilling my sensei's final wish."

Ray was deeply touched and nodded, "I promise I will honor Suigetsu and treat it well."

Steven smiled, nodding his head in satisfaction. Ray turned to him and said, "I want to buy a training sword from you for this little guy."

After hearing Ray's request, Steven brought out three barrels filled with swords. "These training swords were forged just three weeks ago. Let the kid choose whichever he likes; each sword costs 50B."

Ray turned to Oliver and said, "Come over here, Oliver, and pick whichever sword you like."

Oliver's eyes lit up at the words, and he quickly hurried over to the barrels, eagerly inspecting each sword.

After fifteen minutes, Oliver selected a sword with a white handle, a star-shaped guard, and a matching white sheath.

Ray gently took the sword from Oliver and drew it from its sheath. A smile crossed his face as his eyes traced the gleaming blade.

"You are as talented as I remember, Steven."

Steven scoffed at Ray's words. "Flattery won't earn you a discount," he said with a smirk. "Now, pay up."

Ray chuckled, paid for the sword, carefully sheathed it, and handed it back to Oliver.

Ray bid Steven farewell, and he, accompanied by Oliver, stepped out of the shop.
