"Tch… I knew it," he muttered inside his mind. "This stupid system is getting back at me… just because I called it weird so many times."
He sighed.
Option 1? Hmm… I was already planning to do something like that,
Option 2? Seriously? 10% boost to my future dojutsu damn!
And Option 3… Nope. Big no. Huge no. I'm not getting caught skipping class by Dad in Sage Mode. I want to live, thanks.
As Arata stood quietly, thinking, Kurama watched him from within his mind.
The great Nine-Tails narrowed his eyes.
"Heh… So the system's trying to mess with him now?" Kurama chuckled.
He could already tell what was going to happen.
This kid… he's no idiot.
Arata wasn't just some chakra powerhouse or lucky brat. In his past life, he had studied psychology. He always read people, even if he played dumb sometimes. Kurama had seen it all. How Arata reacted, how he handled people, even how he tricked the system before.
Kurama knew—this system's revenge plan is gonna fail hard.
And deep down, Kurama believed something else too.
"If I know this weeb, he's 100% gonna choose Option 1. No way he skips a chance at a kiss from a cute girl who's his fiancée."
But…
There was a strange feeling inside the fox.
Something told him… Arata wouldn't pick any of the three.
No. Knowing Arata, he'd find a fourth option.
Something unexpected.
Something that would make even the system freeze in shock and completely stunned.
On the outside, Arata had a smug grin on his face. But inside his head? A full anime episode was playing.
He had already thought of a hundred different outcomes. The more he imagined, the more he smirked.
The system chimed in again.
"What are you smiling for, Host?"
Arata raised an eyebrow and whispered in his mind, "Watch and learn, buddy. If you're ever Meet a female System, this might actually help you."
Then, he turned to Naori with a serious face, his tone calm but curious.
"Naori-chan… tell me honestly," Arata asked, "Are you being forced or something to marry me?"
Naori's eyes widened for a moment. Then she quickly shook her head.
"No, Arata-kun! I… I actually recommended it," she said, blushing hard. "I told my uncle… well, my .... uncle… that I wanted to marry you."
Arata blinked, surprised. "Huh?"
Naori kept going, though her voice got softer and more nervous.
"It's because… when I saw you that day, you were kind. You helped those kids in the village, you stopped the fight without hurting anyone… and you smiled like it was nothing."
Her hands fidgeted with her dress, and her face turned redder and redder.
"I don't know why, but something inside me… just felt warm. And then, I started liking you more. Your kindness… your smile… everything…"
She trailed off, unable to finish her sentence as her blush reached "Hinata-sees-Naruto" level.
Arata, meanwhile, smirked on the inside like a boss.
"That's right, System. You thought you were smart? Watch me do my own thing."
The system went quiet for a moment.
"…Something's wrong."
Inside Arata's mind, Kurama burst into laughter.
"HAHAHA! I knew it!" the big fox said. "He didn't pick any of your dumb options!Or he as think Something DIFFERENT "
Kurama's tails swayed with amusement.
"This kid's got a sharp mind and a big heart. And when he plays the game of Mind , he doesn't just follow the rules—he rewrites them!"
"I don't love you, and I don't want to marry you."
The moment Arata said those words, time felt like it stopped.
Naori froze.
"...Huh?" she whispered.
The System and Kurama both shouted at the same time inside Arata's mind:
"HUH?!"
Even the wind paused for a second.
Tears started to fall from Naori's eyes. Slowly. One by one.
"R-Really...?" she said in a shaky voice. "But… but you're my fiancé… you said..... I will be a good wife. What… did I do wrong?"
She looked completely broken, her eyes wide, heart crushed.
She stepped back like she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Like someone ripped out her heart and stomped on it.
She couldn't even cry properly now. It was that painful.
"I… I wanted to be with you. I thought you liked me too… even just a little. But now… I just feel like dying…"
Inside, Arata felt that pain too. He looked serious, even a little sad.
But then, he slowly lifted his hand and spoke again.
"Naori-chan," he said softly, "I said that… for a reason."
She stopped, still crying but listening.
"I've heard what people say about me… 'He's the peace child.' 'He stopped the fight between the Uchiha and the Senju.'"
He smiled slightly. "And I figured… someone from your clan, or other clans, would eventually offer marriage. Not because they like me. But because of peace… status… duty."
Naori blinked. Her crying slowed down.
"But I don't want that kind of marriage," Arata said. "I don't want someone to be with me just because of who I am."
He took a step forward and looked straight into her eyes.
"I don't want to force someone to love me. That's not love. That's pressure."
He scratched his cheek awkwardly, his tone soft again.
"But if someone, even just one person… really likes me—not the 'peace kid' me, not the Senju heir me, just me… then I'd be happy."
Naori stared at him, stunned.
Arata smiled.
"And you… you said you don't dislike me. That's enough to make me happy."
Inside Arata's mind…
"WHAT THE—?!" the System screamed. "That wasn't ANY of the options!!
Kurama chuckled, amused.
"True man of culture," the big fox said. "As when Shibai show Arata memory to kuruma but kuruma He's seen all the anime. All the memes. Shibai Otsutsuki passed him everything—including the heart of a real Otaku."
He snorted.
"Even I didn't expect this level of emotional damage… to the System."
"What happened? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Naori sniffled finding Some Confidence.
Her voice was soft, still shaking, but now filled with some relief.
"I thought… I really thought you didn't want me…" she said quietly.
Arata didn't say anything right away. He just listened.
Naori looked down, holding her arms tightly.
"When I first heard… that I might be engaged to you, I was the first one who told Uncle Madara I agreed," she whispered, her cheeks turning red.
"I saw you walking around the village… always helping others… always smiling. You were kind, and your presence felt warm, peaceful. Like sunshine."
She looked up again, tears still shining in her eyes.
"So when you said you didn't love me, I—I felt like my whole heart shattered."
Her voice cracked again.
"But then… when you said what you said… about not wanting to force anyone… about understanding how girls might feel…" she bit her lip.
"It made me… love you more."
Arata blinked.
Now he was caught off guard.
Naori stepped closer and hugged him tightly, pressing her head against his chest, still sniffling.
"I'm sorry for crying so much," she mumbled.
Arata gently placed a hand on her back and said, "No… I'm the one who should say sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."
Naori shook her head quickly. "No, you didn't say anything wrong. You just… told the truth."
Arata smiled a little and leaned back.
Then, with quiet hands, he reached up… and wiped the tears off her face.
Naori froze. Her face turned red again.
He leaned forward slowly, looking into her eyes—those big, soft eyes full of emotion.
And in that moment, Naori stared into his deep brown eyes too… like her whole world was in them. And The world around Her faded—no noise, no motion, just the quiet intensity between their hearts. His hand gently cupped her cheek
Arata didn't rush. He moved with calm, warm intent. As her eyes fluttering closed, trusting him completely.
As Their lips met in a soft, tender kiss—warm and electric. Then, slowly, the kiss deepened. It wasn't rushed or forceful—it was a conversation without words. Their mouths moved together with emotion, learning each other's rhythm, their breaths mingling.
His other hand slid to the small of her back, pulling her gently into him
Inside Arata's head—
System: "Hey! Hey!! This was not in the script!! THIS WAS NOT IN THE OPTIONS!!CHOOOSE ONE HERE!"
Kurama (sipping virtual tea): "Hmph. He may be lazy, but he's smooth when it counts and He completed your option you said to comlete he Task and He DID.
