As the four Aurors walked down the street, Lucius Malfoy, who was standing by the window making a phone call, spotted them immediately.
After exchanging a few words with his wife, he hung up and smirked mockingly at the Aurors, meeting their gaze with a smile.
Then, he turned away, walked back to his seat across from William, and sat down comfortably.
Lucius was curious to see how the Ministry of Magic planned to handle someone as high-profile as William.
As a former Dark Wizard who had escaped punishment after the Second Wizarding War,
he had already anticipated this scenario before coming to London and had even prepared his escape plan.
So now, he simply waited to enjoy the show.
But just as he sat down, he noticed something odd—
the magic theory book William had been reading just minutes ago was now completely finished.
As William closed the book, its leather cover vanished right before Lucius' eyes.
"Spatial magic?"
Hearing Lucius' question, William glanced up, smirked, and casually picked up the book on Transfiguration.
This time, Lucius focused intently on William's reading speed.
And to his shock, he realized—
William wasn't reading.
He was flipping through the pages at an insane speed.
Then, as voices and magical fluctuations echoed from downstairs,
Lucius couldn't contain his curiosity any longer.
"Did you actually understand it, or are you just memorizing it?"
Instead of answering, William simply raised his hand and waved it in front of Lucius.
Lucius stared at his own fingers—
and to his horror, his nails transformed into sharp claws.
Frightened, he immediately cast a restoration spell,
just in time to revert his hands before the Aurors arrived.
But even though it was just a basic Transfiguration spell,
William had learned it on the spot—
and he had only read for a minute.
At that moment, Lucius finally understood why so many people called William a genius.
No, not a genius—
this was monstrous.
What took an ordinary student a full semester to learn,
William could master in minutes.
His mind raced, trying to rationalize how a 20-something nobleman had already become so powerful.
Before he could dwell on it further, footsteps echoed up the stairs.
Four young Aurors—wearing trench coats and hats—strode onto the second floor.
"Lucius Malfoy, you are in violation of the Statute of Secrecy for casting magic in front of a Muggle and providing magical knowledge.
You must come with us to the Ministry of Magic immediately."
Lucius scoffed, lazily sipping his wine, and leaned back in his chair with an amused expression.
"Apologies, but I don't believe I've violated any laws."
The leading Auror was about to argue,
but before he could even finish his sentence—
a single word boomed through the air.
"Silence."
"Ah… ah… ah…!"
The Auror suddenly found himself mute—
his words choked in his throat, unable to escape.
Terrified, he instinctively reached for his wand.
Snap.
Before he could raise it,
William snapped his fingers—
and the Auror froze in place.
His mind raced in panic—
this was clearly a binding spell—but how?
Magic was supposed to require incantations and wand movements.
But William—
he had just snapped his fingers.
The Auror waited, hoping his teammates would act.
But after a few seconds of silence,
his heart sank.
The other three Aurors were also frozen,
trapped by the same binding and silencing spells.
"Hahaha."
Seated comfortably, Lucius grinned at the helpless Aurors and leaned toward William.
"Duke Devonshire, would you mind if I sent this lovely scene to the newspapers?"
William glanced up at Lucius, amused.
He hadn't expected the old snake to be this ruthless.
If news of four Aurors being effortlessly subdued spread,
the Ministry of Magic would have to spend ten, maybe a hundred times more effort just to restore its authority.
But for William, this wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
At the very least, it meant the Ministry wouldn't dare come after him for learning wizard magic.
As for what would happen to these four Aurors—
that was none of his concern.
Seeing Lucius' expectant gaze, William simply shrugged.
"If you're not afraid of retaliation, then go ahead."
"Hah!" Lucius chuckled.
"Even without this, the Ministry watches my wife and me like hawks.
As long as I don't use illegal Dark Magic,
there's nothing they can do to me."
Within hours, the Wizarding Press published a front-page article.
"Four New Aurors Completely Defeated—Can Our Ministry Still Protect Us?"
Attached was a moving photograph of the four Aurors,
frozen mid-action, locked in an embarrassing pose as they reached for their wands.
It didn't take long for the entire wizarding world to hear about it.
Suddenly, William Devonshire was no longer just a tech genius.
He was a magical prodigy—
one who could silence and immobilize four Aurors with a single gesture.
Lucius leaned back, watching the clock with a smirk, enjoying his 1961 Château Latour.
But soon, he noticed something strange.
Even after five or six minutes,
the Aurors were still frozen in place.
Lucius kept glancing between William and the Aurors, growing curious.
William quickly realized the problem.
It seemed that because he had used space energy,
his binding spell was far stronger than normal.
The Aurors couldn't break free—not even close.
Lucius considered helping them,
but after seeing William's raw power,
he didn't dare try.
What if he botched the counter-spell and ended up trapped himself?
Soon, the restaurant manager arrived with two waiters, carrying trays of exquisite dishes.
One of them glanced at the frozen Aurors—
but the manager quickly gave him a look, silently warning him not to ask questions.
After serving the food, the manager bowed and was about to leave—
when William spoke up.
"Prepare four more servings for our guests."
"Of course, sir."
The manager nodded and left.
About ten minutes later,
four identical meals were placed at a separate table five meters away.
Finally, William set down his fork and snapped his fingers.
The four Aurors suddenly floated into the air,
one by one, gliding over to their new seats.
Snap.
As soon as they landed,
their legs buckled—and they collapsed into their chairs.
