Her mother's primary task was to manage the household, and secondly to use every means to maintain her youth and beauty, so she could earn her father's attention and receive more of the jewelry, clothing, shoes, and handbags she loved!
Her existence seemed to be a tool for her mother to please her father, or more like proof of their relationship.
For that relationship, she seemed to have received a lot of love.
But when she lay tossing and turning on the little bed at the boarding school, she found herself more like an abandoned child.
Her classmates at the boarding school, although each coming from wealthy or prominent families, upon closer inquiry, were either illegitimate children of wealthy families or pitiful kids whose parents were too busy flying around to have time to care for them.
At school, besides competing against and criticizing each other, there wasn't much else fun to do.
