We were all unable to move or say a word, even the captain became speechless.
" Is there a plan?" Charles asked.
" Yeah, there is, we finish this " I answered and walked towards the back.
" Is he crazy?" I heard sir William's voice.
This wasn't even the heart, it's just a camp of theirs near the heart, am sure their idea will say less about anyone who will attempt on attacking the heart.
" Wait up " I heard Charles voice behind me. I stopped turned and was facing him.
" Do you want to die? Now I know the reason why we walked all the way to this place without a round wasted, they are guarding the heart " he said.
" So? This is our world, and we make the rules " I replied him and walked off.
I ignored his call, walking dumbly towards the gathering. Though I have no idea of what to do, no plan, and the scariest part is no one was following me, but I don't know why I feel different than before, I am a different Wilson and I can feel it.
My radio started talking to what I recognized the voice, it was the captain.
" State your position soldier."
That was when I noticed that I've gone further away from their position.
" Uhm, close to the target " I muttered, truth be told i am scared to the bones but i don't know how I've managed to surpass it.
" Do not engage, war are coming to you, find a bearing and keep your head low, and lastly try not to make too much noise " he instructed before the radio tuned off.
I can't believe my eyes, I am standing meters from one of the monsters all the while, and it didn't attack. I don't know why but my intuition told me that it didn't hear anything from the bushes.
I tried sneaking to a safer position when I mistakenly stepped on a dried stick.

With a very slow motion I turned facing the most ugliest beast I've ever seen, and even at that i can't explain it's true looks.
Looking at his face I could tell it has noticed me, I pointed my gun to it's eyes, it was making some crackling noise.
I pressed the trigger but the gun was jammed it refused to shoot.
" Bloody hell " I said audibly.
And with that it pounced at me I used my gun blocking it's mouth, Even though it's saliva and disgusting smellwas trying to kill me before it's teeth Pierce through me, I was still not allowing my death that simple and heartbreaking.
We were still struggling with ourselves when it's head burst open pouring it's guts all over my face and i could tell some were on my tongue. It fell on top of my body dead and gone.
" Next time try having a plan before walking into troubled " Bryce said helping me out with the beast.
I let out a weak smile to which he retaliated same way.
Bryce's radio tuned on.
" Boys whatever you are doing, do it and leave that position, it's about to rain from the sky " the Captain's voice announced.
I stood up with haste following Bryce back to the top hill.
We haven't even run a meter when gunshots and bombings started rocking the valley.
I could tell Bryce was scared as I was maybe even more than me.
" Take cover " I heard a voice beside us, as bullets flew pass us towards an incoming beast.
" Why are we running?"
I thought to myself and stopped my tracks, I turned facing the direction we were both running away from.
" What are you doing?" Bryce yelled.
" This is a diversion, let's make it count " I said to him, even though he was frowning he followed me without saying a word.
We ran deeper into the woods until we came facing an airstrip.
So all the while the heart was located in the western base. There were so many aircopters and from seeing them I could tell it's been years since anyone flew these planes.
" You said you were a pilot among the fallen warmen here in the west right?" I asked Bryce who couldn't reply but gave a nod.
" Can you try working on one?" I asked again.
" I think " he replied " but am going to need some time " he added.
I gave him a nod with my heart beating faster than ever.
The good news was there was only one entrance opened in the airstrip, the bad news was these monsters were having no patience to walk in one by one.
I was yelling while shooting, aiming directly at the airstrip entrance. I am winning, no much speech about it, but how could I believe I can win these monsters all by myself. The roof began to crack open, looking at my body am left with only a few rounds, is this how the infamous Wilson dariket will die? I was lost completely, but when I thought it was over another phase began.
A bomb blew up at the entrance with the captain and the others walking in alerted.
" Where is Bryce?" Ledger asked.
I couldn't speak so I pointed towards the planes.
" There's more coming, we have no time, and the heart has been located, you guys keep doing what you are doing, we'll lure them out of the base. Max, William, ledger you guys are with me the rest of you get that aircopter in the air " the captain instructed and ran out followed by his three colleagues.
I was still breathing heavily and too shocked to move a limb.
But there is nothing a slap couldn't fix.
I came back to reality with the hand of Laura.
" Not now dude " she said walking pass me.
I looked up to no monster on the roof and the gunshots I could hear them distance away.
" Yes it works " Bryce yelled happily.
But the engine was making a lot of noise, and I have a feeling that they could hear it.
" They are going to come back due to the noise " I shouted.
" Before they come back I need to get this thing in the air, so I'll need a lot of cover, first, someone open the airstrip " Bryce said running the engine a bit more.
I kept quiet for a while listening, and I could feel vibration.
Apart from Bryce, Laura and Charles it was just me and four other watchdogs.
" Here they come " one of them muttered.
There was a box of weapons beside us, I hurriedly opened it and saw one of the most powerful explosive device in the warmen history, back in the south there are only but few remaining.
I took it and have it to Charles who have already boarded the aircopter.
" Ready for takeoff " Bryce announced.
Before he could take off the captain and the others came rushing in, but the captain and ledger were both in critical condition.
" We'll cover you, get on the aircopter " I said.
Ledger and the captain with William boarded the aircopter but max stood beside me with a smile on his face.
I was happy but sad at the same time, what about his sister? I took a glimpse of the aircopter and saw her expression, bleak and dark.
" What about her?" I asked him.
" She'll come to forgive me " he replied as a dozen breed of viggon monsters crowded the airstrip.
The western part of the war, I will never believe in a thousand years that I'll be a witness let alone be holding a gun, trying to survive.
CAPTAIN HARVEY'S POV....
I was too weak to stand or argue about who will stay and cover and who will return home, though we spotted the heart, quite unfortunate for us we were almost killed.
" The heart is beside the base, circle round, and I'll jump in with a bomb, and blow it all up " I said somewhat in whispers.
Everyone started arguing about it.
" Then I'll do it " I heard the voice of Charles.
" Why, no one deserves to die, we should even go back for the rest " Laura said looking angry.
" Laura, you got plans, the captain is the only one who can deliver the message to the top ranks, I think this is my gate " he said as they both continued arguing.
All of a sudden the aircopter door opened with William standing at the edge.
" What do you think you are doing?" I asked him.
Everyone by now was quite silent.
" I have a brother, his name is Dominic, tell him his brother died a hero " those were the last words of William as he jumped out with everyone screaming the word " no " I watched as he fell down in the middle of the heart, that was it, the whole place became bright.
" Quickly, get us out of here " I said to Bryce who enforced more power to the engine and flew us away from the blast.
WILSON POV....
We all were shooting and running with a mindset that it will be our last, already we've lost two men so it was just the three of us.
While running I noticed the aircopter circling around the base.
" What are they doing? I asked while running.
" I don't know, we need safety " max replied me.
Still looking at the aircopter, I saw someone jump out and the moment he landed the whole place turned bright, with the ground quaking, we all stopped looking at the wave coming towards us.
" It was nice fighting alongside you guys, this is the way I imagined " the other guy said beside me, and in seconds we were blown into the air, coming back down everything went dark.
