The next action would leave one wondering how they managed to do it. A golden light lit the platform at the bottom. But that was not the shocking part because even the soles of the shoes of whoever was standing on the platform was not visible.
The light then started climbing and for the first time the soles of the shoes were visible. The light climbed slowly and steadily and the entire feet which were covered in black lether shoes slightly pointed upwards appeared. The next thing visible were the white ankle sock and finally a small part of his feet was seen before the white trauser appeared.
One from the present world would have thought that it was Michael Jackson making an appearance. The lights kept rising and soon the person's hands appeared and it was already obvious that it was a man. He had a black tie and a white coat.
When his head finally appeared, one could not miss the sharp chin and just when one thought that they would see his face, the hat he was wearing appeared to be hiding his face and he was looking up. The crowd could not help but suck in cold breaths.
They already knew who the person was and he was quite famous. Not quite famous but he was ultra famous if he could be described as so. The reason was very simple.
" Who could gave thought..."
" The Savage..."
"Its indeed Kariz the Savage..."
"Turns put our pockets are going to be wrung dry..."
For every person that spoke, one could hear the sigh that accompanied them. Kariz the Savage was a well know phrase and whenever he was in charge of auctioning, it was only rightful that people lost money because he had a knack of making people buy cheap goods expensively and expensive good could even be sold twice what it would on a normal day.
But the fact that he was here today was clear proof that there was something good to be auctioned! The crowd on the lower floor could not help but get excited but those on the higher floors were a different story. They all wore ugly expressions as they saw Kariz the Savage.
This was because it was not their first time here and it was Kariz doing the auctioning. They knew him very well and they could only describe him as a weapon forged against them the rich! They could only send out messengers back to their families knowing very well that whatever had brought them here was going to cost almost twice the amount they had in mind.
If one was close to Kariz, they would not miss the smile that had formed in his lips. He already knew that it had worked. He could now break the silence and start the auction. It happened instantly and the crowd roared.
It went dark for a split second but it was enough for them all to see the hat that had been blown to the air and then...
BOOM!
The boom was maybe imaginary but the bright light that had a tinge of golden on it suddenly lit up the whole stage and they all saw the hat spinning and rolling in the air falling back and landing gently on Kairz's head.
He turned around sharply and the crowd felt their throats constrict. It felt as though he could see through their souls. His eyes were a pale grey and the few hair that stuck out from below the hat were a dark black but sometimes, it appeared like it turned greyish giving of a mysterious feeling.
Kariz was tall. Taller than most tall men. Approaching seven feet. He appeared to be just in his middle life but his aura was well in the Supreme Plane. Ladies fawned over him because he was handsome. But maybe that was not the real reason though.
Down below, one could see his member pressing loosely against his pants and they felt that this was when he was not awake, yet. Some ladies swallowed hard and the men could only wear ugly expressions. They all knew he did that on purpose.
The crowd went silent slowly and soon, it was only Kariz who was visible and the rest of the crowd appeared to be just shadows. Suddenly, a light shone on the table on the stage which was empty but that did not last long.
A translucent glass cube suddenly manifested on the table and the crowd waited eagerly. It was obvious at first glance that no one could see through the glass.
Kariz had not bothered with introduction but they did not care. They wanted him to start already but it was as though he was doing so on purpose.
Making them eager to see the appearing item. Then he opened his mouth and spoke. His voice was not loud but they all heard him clearly as though he was speaking to their ears directly.
"Yet another day for all of us to witness yet another amazing event. I know you miss me but just so you know, I did not miss you back," Kariz started and the crowd could not help but chuckle while others rolled their eyes at his words. The only thing the probably missed about him was that they had not seen those nobles throw away their money just because of a few of his words.
"I will do away with the pleasantries and go direct to the beginning of our event. Just so you know, this is an item that we have been looking for for ages and it is only now that we have managed to find it. Rumour has it that it is capable of doing wonders!"
The crowd went silent. Just from his explanation, they could smell some honey in his words but they still wanted to know what it was that had managed to take first spot. Kariz stretched his palm and the glass cube opened by collapsing sideways revealing something.
When everyone saw what it was, they almost started calling it all a bullshit but when they all took a closer look, they were silenced. What appeared was a floating and almost tattered piece of paper capable of being called piece of junk.
The paper was brownish in colour almost as though it had been collected from the road side. But upon closer inspection, it was a piece of a map. When they concluded it was a map, they all felt their hearts shudder. There was only one map that was capable of being auctioned in the Binary City's Auction House.
"Rumour has it that millions of years ago, there existed a very powerful being who ruled the world. His rein was one of tyranny but he was later deafeated by the Immortal King. But before the being died, he had left behind treasures all over the world.
"It just happens that we have found this map that leads to one of his treasure troves. This map is one of the six pieces that makes it complete. We have verified it with several ancestors and they all say that it really leads to the treasure trove.
"I can't help but wonder, how many of you are daring enough to go on this new adventure and try your luck in finding this treasure? This is just one of the pieces and you never know, maybe it is the one that has been marked to have the treasure.
"This piece of map was found in a dangerous region and it further continues to prove the authenticity of this map. This map starts at 10,000 Blue essence stones. Anyone ready to go for it? Now is ypur chance..." Kariz had barely finished when the crowd started yapping.
"10,000..."
"11,000..."
"12,000..."
"15,000..."
"20,000..."
"25,000..."...
The price started increasing slowly and as it got higher, some people dropped out. But what one could notice at first glance was that those on the higher floors starting from the sixth were all silent. It was obvious that it was not yet their stage or maybe they were too disdained to compete with these high level commoners.
Those who started were those on the ground floor and as they went silent, those on the first and second floors took it upon themsleves to compete.
"50,000..."
There was a slight pause because the person who spoke came from the third floor. Those who were competing below came to a pause and many went silent. It was obvious that they felt that it was not worth it. No one even knew whether the story was true or a fabrication let alone the treasure related to the story.
"Going out at 50,000 for the first time..."
"55,000..."
"60,000..."
"70,000..."
That was the last bid and no one else dared to make a move anymore.
"Going out at 70,000 for the first time... Going out at 70,000 for the second time and the winner of the bid..."
"100,000..."
