Chapter 35 - Chapter 3: Married

"""Finally the day arrived, my wedding day with Iris had come. Now we are in the city hall greeting the citizens who want to congratulate us. I thought it would be quick and over soon. But the queue of citizens overflowed beyond the hall's capacity.

Because today King Majagada also held a public feast and distributed leftover war supplies back to the people. It was clear it would be crowded and full of citizens. Seeing the long queue of citizens made me a little happy. Honestly, I was confused about what to do next.

"Stay calm, smile, and return the prayers and greetings from the citizens." Iris whispered beside me. "This event will be over soon at 5 PM and we can go home, dear."

"Yes." I replied.

My social energy was completely drained because of this. Approaching night, the queue was finally cut off and the guards forbade citizens from entering again. I breathed a sigh of relief and leaned my back against the chair.

"Phew, I'm tired." I said.

"Wait until you have to learn about public appearance and politics, propaganda, and public control." Iris replied. "I think you need to go to school for that first."

I held Iris's hand tightly and leaned my head on her shoulder. Iris caught my head and gently placed it on her lap. "Tired. But this is warm and comfortable. It's a shame Kuti is sulking and chose to teach beginner archers at the city guild how to hunt monsters."

"Hey, this is our event. Focus on me," Iris pulled my mouth.

"Y-yes, sorry." I replied.

"We have an hour break here. Do you want to eat for a bit or rest like this?" Iris asked.

I buried my head into her stomach. "It's warm here. Let my energy recover before meeting the special guests."

"Alright. We'll eat at home later. The next guests are from the nobility of the neighboring country. But after this, it's your friend named Dahlan with envoys from the Ilm Empire." Iris said.

"I-Iris, for the future, please help and cooperate. I-I've never been in this position. Or had a basis for leading and politicking. I-I will also try my best to help you." I said and looked at her face.

"Yes, of course." Iris replied and smiled. "It's okay to sleep for a bit on my lap. I also want to close my eyes for a moment."

"Y-yes," I tried to close my eyes and rest for a bit. But I couldn't fall asleep and saw Iris sitting and asleep.

I felt Kuti's presence here. He entered through the hall window that was not yet closed. Then he removed his camouflage, "Did I miss a lot? The teenage beginners I taught to hunt were quite troublesome for them to defeat a monster as simple as a monster pig."

"Well, that's natural, this is a peaceful area. They're just getting to know each other and just want to adventure." Iris woke up and stretched her body. "You came too, Kuti, after this there are still important guests from other kingdoms. If you want, you can stay here and act as my and Thomas's bodyguard."

"Yes, I will stay here." Kuti said and stood behind me. "I will use my camouflage to disappear for a moment."

"D-don't, just grab a chair and sit next to me." I requested.

A servant came and brought a chair for Kuti to sit on. Iris seemed fine with it. An idea came to me, "You still have that badge, right? Just put it on to look more official."

"Ah, that badge," Kuti took it and put it on his left shoulder.

The palace protocol entered, beginning the procession to receive guests from other countries. Seeing this session made me a little sleepy. King Majagada and my parents were present at the beginning of the procession. The invited guests from other countries entered the hall after King Majagada and my parents sat in their designated places.

Envoys from Prince Kogurs came and congratulated us. As old allies and under the protection of Majagada."""Prince Dionis himself came to congratulate us.

Then Dahlan came with the Crown Prince of the Ilm Empire, Rovaldi, to congratulate us both.

"You beat me to getting married in this world." Dahlan whispered. "And to a princess no less. Poor Kuti then."

"I'll follow suit after this." Kuti replied. "I don't mind being second. The most important thing is that my love for him is number 1."

"Oh dear. By the way, have you seen Rosa? She hasn't updated our chat group in a long time." Dahlan changed the subject.

"No, we haven't met her at all during our adventures. She might suddenly become a powerful witch after meditating and studying under someone." Kuti answered.

Our conversation stopped because Prince Rovaldi wanted to speak to us. "Good evening, I apologize for interrupting your conversation. But I'm sure you'd like to hear an offer from me."

"W-what is it?" I asked.

"The Ilm Empire offers the two divine envoys from 999 to study at our Ilm Academy. Our Divine Envoy 333 also invites you to be friends." Prince Rovaldi answered.

"Ah, about that, we'll probably decide after discussing it first." Kuti replied.

"Also to strengthen the new friendship between the Ilm Empire and the Holy Kingdom of Majagada. I hope you both will accept it. It would be a great pity if we were to conflict in the future. It would be a great pity if the two strongest nations on this continent were to conflict, wouldn't it?" Rovaldi asked.

"It seems that won't happen." Iris, who joined our conversation, replied. "Just accept it, there's no harm in it, right? I already graduated from there 2 years ago."

The conversation then moved on to political matters. I felt out of place because it was actually Iris's problem as the next potential leader of Majagada, and I myself wanted to stay away from politics.

But Iris forced me to keep talking. Until finally, I agreed to study for two years in the Ilm Empire with Kuti. The three of us would live in the Ilm Empire as honored guests. Iris would continue her studies in physical magic and state administration. As for Kuti and I, we would take basic education first, and then decide on our studies.

"Good if you agree. I'm also currently taking basic education there." Dahlan added. "If only Rosa could join too."

"Oh, come on, Dahlan, Rosa must be adventuring and having fun right now." Kuti retorted. "Or are you in love with her?"

"No!" Dahlan answered firmly. "It's just that we used to be close friends."

"In that case, I will discuss this further with my father and the divine envoy." Rovaldi said. "If all goes well, then next week the pick-up party from the academy will arrive to escort you!"

Rovaldi seemed excited. Iris smiled and let the man pass. "Hey dear, in the future. The Ilm Empire will be an important partner for us. Next time, be a little more cheerful."

"Yes, I-I know." I replied.
