Cheng Xiao sat in the garden in silence watching the flowers around her. Finally, this whole thing was going to end, she was in deep thought when her phone rang and snapped her out of it.
"Guys!" Cheng Xiao said when the two faces came to her screen.
"How was it?" Su Li asked.
"I am finally going to get that divorce." Cheng Xiao said with the smile.
"What happened?" Shen Mu asked.
"His grandfather..." Cheng Xiao started to explain what happened when she was alone with him.
"Honestly when he asked how much I wanted to leave him, all the confidence in me went away. This was why I never wanted to give this marriage a chance; I don't want to be treated as a gold digger everywhere I go." Cheng Xiao said.
"This was the same reason why you have been trying to get a divorce from him." Shen Mu said feeling for her friend.
"Well at least now when we will finally be able to get that divorce." Cheng Xiao said.
"But that means..." Su Li trailed.
"I might have to leave the city." Cheng Xiao said with a bitter smile.
"What are you going to do with that money?" Su Li asked.
"I will divide it and give it out to donations. At least the money will be put to good use." Cheng Xiao replied.
"Cheng Xiao, I know you like him so why don't you fight." Su Li asked.
"Su Li, we may have not known each other for years but I consider you one of my closest friends. Even if I want to fight, I can never be the reason why this family falls apart. I have been dealing with people at work saying the only reason why I managed to stay all those seven years as his secretary was because I seduced him, I can't deal with his family like that as well." Cheng Xiao said.
A figure standing not far behind heard all she had to say and went back inside. After the conversation with Xu Kai, grandfather asked Xu Kai to walk with him around the garden. They were walking in silence when they heard Cheng Xiao's conversation with her friends.
Xu Kai wanted to walk over but his grandfather grabbed his hand and stopped him. He wanted to hear what Cheng Xiao had to say, what he could not get to hear from her, he was going to hear it from her conversation with her friends.
"My parents don't even know about this. What if mom drops one day at the apartment and see my stuff gone? How do I even begin to tell them that I got married without their permission and that too to my boss." Cheng Xiao said and the two behind froze.
