Cheng Xiao woke up to find Xu Kai's arm wrapped around her waist. Unlike before, she did not try to remove but gently shook him to wake him up.
"Xu Kai" She called his name softly.
"Hmm!" Xu Kai reply but made no movement of waking up.
"I have to go and get ready for work." Cheng Xiao said.
"You can ride with me." Xu Kai replied.
"Didn't we agree to take it slow?" Cheng Xiao asked.
"We did, but there is no harm in going together to work." Xu Kai said.
"What if?" Cheng Xiao asked.
"You were my secretary for so long, just say I gave you a lift." Xu Kai replied.
"You can't do that, you have a meeting with my department today, so I don't want any gossip to arise." Cheng Xiao explained.
It was one thing if someone were to spot her exiting his car. Although she could say that he gave her a lift, it would not make any sense since she is not his secretary anymore.
"Xu Kai, don't forget what you promised me?" Cheng Xiao threatened.
"Are you threatening me?" Xu Kai asked.
"What if I am?" Cheng Xiao retorted back.
"You will get it now." Xu Kai said and pinned her under him.
"You promised to take it slow." Cheng Xiao reminded him.
"I didn't do anything yet." Xu Kai replied.
After a few argument, Xu Kai decided to let her go and take her bath. Xu Kai laid on the bed with a hand under his head and stared at the ceiling. He thought of this moment that he never imagined would come true.
Cheng Xiao really has given him a chance. At first when he woke up, he thought that it had been a dream and pretended to be asleep to check how she would react when she woke up. Before when she would wake up the first thing would do was to try and remove his arm that was wrapped around her.
But today she didn't do that, instead she gently shook him awake and asked him to let her go to go and get ready for work.
Cheng Xiao and Xu Kai walked down the stairs and went straight to the dining room. They both sat down, the maids brought them their meals and left, Xu Kai took a toast and started to apply butter on it before handing it to Cheng Xiao.
Cheng Xiao took the toast and thanked him, the butler looked at them in shock. Yesterday before they went to the old mansion, Cheng Xiao was treating Xu Kai like an enemy but the time they returned he noticed that something was different. At first, he thought that his eyes were deceiving him until he saw them again this morning.
