"Xu Kai, do you want everyone to be talking by tomorrow?" Cheng Xiao asked him in a low tone.
"Let them talk, do you expect me to watch another man make an attempt at you? Do you think I will be able to tolerate that?" Xu Kai asked back.
"It is not like I was going to indulge him." Cheng Xiao replied.
"I don't care, you are mine, I don't want any other man looking at what is mine." Xu Kai whispered in her ear.
"Yoh, possessive much!" Cheng Xiao teased.
"You know it." Xu Kai responded and removed his hand from her waist.
"Wait a little longer." Cheng Xiao said in a low tone.
Xu Kai knew what those words meant, after she made a name for herself in the industry, they would make their marriage public. Cheng Xiao didn't want people to say that she seduced her way into the upper class by sleeping with her boss, although Xu Kai would be able to shut the rumors down, they would still surface.
The only way to trample such rumors was to make a name for herself, at least that way they could see her talent.
The couple of the hour came and everyone turned to look at them, everyone's eyes landed on the necklace and earrings the hostess was wearing. As they walked in people started to swamp them offering their congratulations for their anniversary.
The hostess received so much praise for her jewelry; some asked her where she had bought it and she would just say that her husband bought it for her. Several women went to their husbands urging them to go the husband and ask where he got it from.
"Your wife's jewelry has caused quite a stir." Someone said coming to the host.
"Where did you buy it from? My wife cannot stop pestering me saying she would like a piece as well." Another came saying.
"It was custom made." He looked around and spotted Cheng Xiao.
He called a waiter and asked them to call Cheng Xiao over. Cheng Xiao was laughing at something Shen Mu said when the waiter came to her and told her the host was calling her. Cheng Xiao headed to them.
"This is the one that designed the piece that my wife is wearing." The host said introducing Cheng Xiao to everyone.
"Isn't she the one who was Mr. Xu's secretary?" Someone asked.
