I looked at Bob, surprised again by how much I didn't know about this world.
"Huh... I guess you could show me around the south if we go there one day."
Bob looked back at me and slightly tilted his head to the side as leaves fell from the trees, and it grew darker by the second.
"I guess we could go in about 2 or 3 days. It will take some time to prepare everything we need. But Dipull, you should know not everywhere is safe; there is still war. This time it's okay, though, because I've been there many times."
Bob spoke with concern in his voice; he didn't want me to suffer or be unhappy, but at least this trip wasn't going to be too dangerous.
"So Bob, what do we need to prepare for this trip to the south from the east?" I asked, curious about our needs.
Bob clapped his small penguin hands together and said, "Well, we need food, clothes for you because you're new to the cold weather there, and someone to bring us, of course."
"Then how did you get there the first time, Bob?"
"Oh, that? I got thrown by a giant coming from the west part."
I looked at Bob, very surprised, confused, and impressed all at once. How did he even survive that?
"It's getting late, Dipull. We should go to sleep. You sleep on the ground next to me, and I'll sleep in my bed, okay?"
"What? Why should I be the one sleeping on the ground? At least give me something to cover myself so I don't get cold."
Bob let out a deep sigh. "Okay, okay. I'll let you sleep in my bed next to me if you really don't want to sleep on the ground that badly."
I glared at Bob again, but at least I would sleep well. "I'm more than pleased with that offer."
Bob and I went back inside his house. I slept in the corner on the right side, and Bob on the left. A small wind blew into the house every now and then.
"Ugh..." I woke up with my head hurting. I stood up and opened my eyes to the bright lights of the sun shining through the window and the green sky. I glanced back at the bed; Bob wasn't there. Where was he?
"Eh?"
I walked to the door, pushed it open, and saw Bob preparing and carrying some stuff into a carriage. There was an eight-legged horse attached to the carriage. Bob saw me and waved.
"Did you sleep well?" Bob yelled from far away.
I started to walk towards him. "Yeah, I did." That was a lie.
"Who's that horse, anyway?"
"Oh, this guy? He's Vlad, the fastest one in our little family. Oh, and about that 2 or 3 day wait for planning. I stayed up all night after you slept, and I'm finished."
I was caught off guard again. How does he keep doing that?
"Anyway, do we need to do anything else before we go?" I asked, wondering what was in these things. Was that a sword I saw in the carriage?
"Anything else? Huh, I don't think so, Dipull. I'm just gonna—" Bob climbed on top of Vlad and said, "Dipull, get inside. We're going."
"Okay?"
I entered the carriage, looking around. It was made of wood. I knocked on it—*knock knock*. "Hmmm?" It was pretty solid. I sat down on the ground of the carriage as it started to move. The light hit my eyes, but it didn't bother me, and I slept through it.
"Mmhm...?" I woke up, still being hit by the bright light. I looked outside from the back of the carriage and saw we were on a dirt road, surrounded by old trees and tall, big rocks everywhere. The light wasn't going through the trees, but there were no animals, only old trees and strange big rocks.
"Hm?" I pulled back and sat down again, going to the front. Bob was still riding. Not wanting to bother him, I sat back down and went through some of the stuff Bob brought. I found a blanket and wrapped myself with it, looking like an egg, and lay fully on the ground, bored.
"How long will this take until we get to the south?"
I wondered aloud. Some time went by, and I looked out from the back of the carriage again. The scenery looked different now. There were stones and trees everywhere, covered in a white powder-like substance falling from the sky. The sky had a crystal-like light bluish color. I pulled back inside; it was so cold here. I started going through the stuff Bob brought and found a metallic-gridded kind of lamp.
"What is this?"
As Dipull began twisting the lamp's switch, it lit up with a spark, bringing a warm feeling. Dipull stood up and hung it to the side of the carriage.
"Ah... it's pretty comfortable here now."
As Dipull enjoyed his time in the carriage, a loud *bang* could be heard. He stood up, went to the front to see Bob, and looked outside.
"Is something go—"
Before Dipull could finish his sentence, Bob looked up. A massive sea serpent with bluish scales and reddish-orange eyes loomed over them, towering above almost everything around.
"Run!"
