Chapter 20 - Celebration And Status

The ship crested the final wave into the Grand Line. The sea stretched endlessly, its currents wild, its skies unpredictable. Xefer stood at the helm, his eyes steady but his smile warm. The girls gathered close, their faces glowing with pride. Together, they had endured storms and beasts, and now they had entered the sea of legends.

‎

‎"Look at us," Xefer said softly, his voice carrying both affection and pride. "We've made it here together. And I couldn't ask for better company."

‎

‎Keala and Keeva laughed, conjuring small bursts of flame that danced like fireworks above the deck. Kunai raised her sword, her eyes shining with determination. Xefer chuckled, shaking his head.

‎"Careful, my fiery twins. Don't burn the sails before we even start our adventure. And Kunai, don't glare too hard—you'll scare the sea kings away."

‎

‎Their laughter rang out, but it was cut short by a thunderous roar. A cannonball hurtled toward them from a distant ship. Xefer moved with effortless grace, his fist meeting iron midair. The ball shattered into fragments, scattering harmlessly into the sea. He lowered his hand, his smile never fading.

‎"See? Nothing to worry about. As long as I'm here, no cannon will ever touch you."

‎

‎He closed his eyes, calling upon the system.

‎"System, show me my new status."

‎Xefer opened his eyes, his gaze calm but filled with warmth. "So, I've climbed to Vice Admiral strength. Not bad, right? But don't think I'll carry all the weight. You three are Rear Admiral level now, and I expect you to shine."

‎

‎Across the waves, the pirate ship loomed closer. At its bow stood a man tall as a fortress, holding a massive cannon in his hands as though it were a toy. His aura was heavy, oppressive, and three lieutenants flanked him, their power evident. Behind them, dozens of crewmen moved in disciplined formation.

‎

‎Xefer's smile widened. He turned to the girls, his tone playful.

‎"Now, my loves, this is your first real battle. Don't be nervous. Whoever takes down the most pirates tonight gets a gift from me. Maybe a kiss, maybe something sweeter. So fight hard."

‎

‎Keala's flames burst forth, swirling around her in a storm of heat. Keeva mirrored her sister, their twin powers weaving together into a blazing aura. Kunai drew her sword, her stance steady, her eyes sharp. Xefer teased again, his voice light.

‎"Don't let the twins hog all the glory, Kunai. Show them that swords can cut through more than fire."

‎

‎The pirates' ship drew closer, its crew moving in unison. The captain raised his cannon, resting it upon his shoulder with ease, his eyes locked upon Xefer. The three lieutenants flanked him, their weapons drawn, their auras pulsing with menace. The lesser crewmen spread across the deck, their formation tight, their intent clear.

‎

‎The air grew heavy with tension. The sea itself seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the clash to begin. Xefer remained at the helm, his gaze unwavering, his presence commanding. The girls stood ready, their powers unleashed, their spirits burning.

‎

‎The captain grinned, his eyes gleaming with challenge. He raised his cannon, his aura surging, and with a roar unleashed his own power. His body shimmered, his movements warped—the mark of a Paramecia Devil Fruit, medium in rank but mastered to perfection.

‎

‎Kōzan Kōzan no Mi — Fortress Fortress Fruit.

‎

‎The deck beneath him rose into jagged walls, iron and stone fusing together. Cannons sprouted from the ship's sides, spikes jutted outward, and the entire vessel transformed into a fortress‑golem under his command. His aura pressed down like a mountain, suffocating and immense.

‎

‎Xefer's gaze did not waver. He stepped forward, the storm swirling at his command, the sky darkening as lightning flickered. His face was cold now, stripped of teasing warmth, his eyes sharp as blades.

‎"Girls," he said, his voice calm but edged with love, "this is your first real battle. Show me everything you've learned. Whoever kills the most gets my gift. But leave the captain to me."

‎

‎The twins sprang forward, their flames blazing. Kunai's sword flashed, her strikes precise. The pirates advanced in organized movement, their formation tight, their intent clear. The girls met them head‑on, their powers unleashed, their spirits burning.

‎

‎Xefer stepped forward to face the captain. The storm roared around him, lightning crackling in the sky. The captain grinned, his Fortress Fortress Fruit surging, his cannon raised. Two forces, equal in will, prepared to clash.
