By the time the sun had dipped below the skyline, Nora had just finished going through the final reports for the day. Her schedule had been packed and exhausting, but it had gone smoothly until a black luxury car pulled up at the company's front entrance.
She was still working on the file when her new secretary informed her about the car Alric had sent. She frowned and asked the driver to report in the office.
"I was not told that we have an appointment. Why did Alric send you?" looking at the confused woman, the driver felt at a loss of words.
"Madam Nora," the suited driver stepped forward, his voice polite yet assertive. "The boss has asked me to bring you to a hotel for dinner."
Nora blinked in confusion, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Alric? But we didn't have anything planned for tonight."
