-scene change to the HUNTER-
"Someone made quite the mess" mumbled the chosen to himself while looking through the scope of his sniper rifle. His finger pressed a button on the side of his sniper scope making the scope zoom in on the scene he was interested in. It was the aftermath of Joseph kidnapping of the VIP. when he got the report of strange attackers in Florida in the US part of earth that led to the kidnapping of VIP and scientist. He did his best to come quickly with the psychic teleportation that him and his siblings are able to preform.
He arrived late unfortunately due to already being on a hunt for a skirmisher. Traitor advent that somehow broken free of the elders control. He didn't care how they broke free, he didn't care for their cause. But he did envy their freedom to do as they pleased, only slightly. Not only did his prey escape due to a clever trick but now he arrived late to the scene of carnage. Pratal Mox was a crafty little skirmisher and he will relish the next hunt when he finds Pratal mox again.
A blown up limo, several dead advent soldiers and some property damage here and there. That was the scene Hunter could see through his sniper scope, oh and his bitch of a 'sister' was at the scene now as well. He can't exactly see her but he knows for a fact that she is there, his instincts tell him so and his instincts are hardly ever wrong.
"Sister I'm already ten steps ahead of you heh" while he couldn't investigate the crime scene by the new unknown faction he can investigate the attack on a advent prison facility that went dark. Before his sister undoubtedly goes to check out the area, no doubt that she would've received word about it as well.
He could very easily look into the current attack before him, learn what he can and track the movements left behind. But he won't for the simple reason that he does not want his sister knowing he already gotten involved in tracking the new quary. Hunter would rather a permanent death than share any information he gathered, as petty as it sound he would prefer death than ever helping his sister or brother. He can't stand either of them. it would be more fun beating his sister too the hunt as well.
And his fanatical brother if he took an interest in this if he ever got a report about the recent attacks, however he doubted that zealot would be interested. So far the attacks haven't occurred in his area of operations, nor an order from his beloved eldars.
From a beam of psychic energy hunter vanished and then re appeared before what was supposed to be a secret advent prison for troublesome prisoners. This prison in particular was more new but heavily fortified.
It was supposed to be fortified enough that the resistance wouldn't dare attacking, at least without casualties due to the heavy defenses. Large number of advent soldiers, a shield bearer. Sectoid and most dangerous of all, a sectopod.
"So much for that idea, everyone seems to be dead." hunter crouched before one of the dead bodies, his eyes roaming over it then to the nearby corpses. His imagination conjuring up what exactly what happened to each dead soldier to the destroyed sectopod.
"No force of entry from high round caliber or grenade shrapnel….." Hunter was trying to figure out how the enemy unknown to him managed the fear of taking down a sectopod.
High round calibers to perhaps explosives in certain amount could do the trick. But he knows from reports that these machines decimated human tanks, the means to destroy a sectopod was limited to the restiance and even if they had it still doesn't make sense.
He was gonna ponder how until he remembered something and rubbed his eyes. "How did I forget about the base cameras?"
He's certainly not telling anyone about this moment, Hunter thought to himself while making his way past the advent soldiers that was already at the base.
They was doing simple clean up work and more than likely already spread word of the attack in the advent network.
He was going to need to speed up his investigation if he wanted to reach his quarry first before his sister did. He moved with a quick past the fodder that was cleaning up around him. His eyes briefly lingered on the carnage at the entrance to the base, then made his way to the security room.
"Whoever has been behind these attacks must be armed and dangerous. As well highly professional to be capable of leaving behind such carnage. A worthy hunt indeed"
-meanwhile-
"BALD BALD BALD BAAAALD!!!"
"MY EYES!!!!"
"IM GONNA DO YOUR MOM JOSEPH AND SEND YOU BACK TO THE FIELD TO PICK MY COT-"
It took several minutes of the three grown men screaming before they regained their sight and hearing.
"JOSEPH YOU ASSHOLE!"
"IT WAS HENRY FAULT!"
"Brother you was the one who SPAWNED IN THE CRATE!"
"…..it was Rex fault"
"You little shit"
It took a couple more minutes for them to get their barings together and stop squabbling like grown children. Somehow the argument of Joseph being at fault went off course on if Metroman was close to the flash speed to making fun of Palpatine empire only lasting two decades.
"Wait we're getting off course! We known Joseph did it and wasted all of our flash bangs, however we didn't bring in the rest of our rewards. Hopefully someone here doesn't break anymore of our loot." Rex remarked dryly at Joseph who sipped on a smoothie loudly.
Herny tsk while he accessed the system inventory to spawn their current accumulated loot. They came out in chests and crates. There wasn't a lot of the loot. In total only being two chests and crates, the crates wasn't anything remarkable to the three when they opened them.
Each crate was just filled with ammo for their respective weapons. For example Joseph got bolter ammunition, Herny getting gas cartiages and power packes.
"Huh my ammo looks the damn same from the game" looking at his crate of ammo revealed a crate full of white small ammo destiny boxes mixed in with green ones and a few purple heavy ammo. "Well this isn't fair at all, both of you guys aren't even gonna run outta ammo"
Remarked Joseph who looked at Henry and Rex. "Be honest when have you ever remembered running out of ammo for your primary in destiny, or someone running out of ammo in Star Wars." He furthered added on while digging through his crate of ammo to grab a bolter round.
"Dude stop your whining. Your bullets explode people upon contact in a gory mess" Henry scoffed while waving Joseph off, "you also can kill things with your fists or melee weapon you have to save ammo, you just like complaining. That and you love hearing yourself talk"
While Henry spoke he was checking over his weapon crate and opened it. "Oooooh shit I got a lightsaber!" He shouted while reaching into the crate.
"Really?" "No way!"
"Nah just fucking with you both, but I did get a few RPS-6 rocket launcher anddddd a couple scattergun! Which is an equivalent to a shotgun in Star Wars" Rex lets out an appreciative whistle upon hearing what Henry had in his weapon crate.
Excited to check his own loot Rex open his crate only to close his eyes in acceptance. "Blues….." he whispered to himself. he could just hear the slow build up of angelic music that further cemented that his loot drop was complete trash.
"Blues? Blues what?" Joseph asked confused and went behind Rex, looking over his friend he saw what was exactly in the weapon crate and felt bad for him.
The crate was full of blue weapons from destiny. Not a single legendary nor exotic, which Rex wasn't expecting any exotics if he was honest.
Inside the crate was Armillary PSU which was a scout rifle, Ros Lysis being an auto rifle, "My condolences brother" Remarked Joseph as Henry did a small prayer to the RNG gods for Rex next loot chance being better than trash.
"Welp time to check my crate next!" Joseph said as he opened his, only to stare blankly at the empty weapon crate. Then opened the next two quickly revealing they was both also empty of loot.
"...This system is ass and I'm gonna crash out. You don't mess with a man's loot!" While Joseph was using every ounce of will power to not loose his cool and pull a Kylo Ren upon the bridge of the ship, Rex started laughing upon seeing Joseph empty weapon crates.
His laughing was cut off as an unexpected weapons crate spawned above Rex and nearly landed atop of him. It would've crushed him if it wasn't for Joseph acting quickly and shoved him with a bit too much force to save his friend.
"Ooompf!"
Rex was sent tumbling across the cold steel floor with his back hitting one of the chairs in the bridge making him wince. Herny being the closest would quickly rush to Rex side to aid his stunned friend. "You alright man? Joseph shoved you pretty hard."
Herny asked while helping Rex to his feet, "yeah I'm good, just winded with a sore back" while being helped to his feet Joseph would also come to his other side with a worried look upon his own face. "Are you sure? I shoved you pretty hard. I am deeply sorry for shoving you that hard, I acted on the spot as soon I saw the crate appear above you."
Before Joseph could ask his friend if everything was truly alright, Rex simply gave a thumbs up to calm Joseph worries.
"Yeah I'm good man, plus now I got a reason to see if I have a ghost-"
"Your a guardian of course you have a ghost, dumbass"
"Henry shut the hell up, before I find a way to visit your mom and become your dad." Was all Rex had to say to friend before holding out his hand as a ghost materialized before him.
Rex excitement grew when his eyes met the singular eye(optic? What would you call a ghost eye?) of his ghost. It was the same one from the game that he had equipped last, it was the Wayfinders ghost shell.
So far the only equipment that crossed over for him was DRIP being the kitsune set, a random bow from his inventory which was his Tripwire Canary. His secondary being a shotgun being the Fractethyst and lastly his sword that he quite enjoyed using when he still played D2. His baby The Falling Guillotine.
The funny spin to win sword, very therapeutic to spin and obliterate mob enemies around him.
"Heal me up little buddy" Rex asked his ghost with a growing smile, wanting to see and feel the ghost perform its miracle of healing.
Rex ghost did not disappoint as it flew upawards and began to untangle coming apart of sorts, which to Rex was a bit strange yet fascinating to witness the way finder ghost perform its task compared to the more normal basic ghosts.
A blue light was bursted outwards from the middle of the wayfinder ghost, it was a gentle and slow burst of light that went over the trio of friends. It only healed the minor small injuries of the guardian in the room only.
Immediately the sores and bruises that was forming went away in an instant making Rex let out a sigh of relief, he cracked his back then neck as his ghost seeing its task completed vanished where it came.
Or went wherever ghosts go when their not assisting their guardians.
"That was cool" Joseph mumbled as he watched the little robot(would you consider a ghost a robot?) vanish before him. "Hold on was this the first time you brought out the ghost? Why didn't you bring it out when you had the time too?"
"Cause I was distracted with all the crap we was getting into, also I forgot I had one"
"Bruh"
"Joseph can you hurry the hell up already with opening the new crate that just popped in so the author can end the chapter already? God damn dude" Henry spoke annoyed wanting to get on to the next crate as Joseph shrugged at Herny.
"Sorry bro we're outta budget, I'll open it next chapter" Joseph made a 'what can you do?' Gesture with arms as Henry rubbed his eyes.
"The immersion of this story is ruined"
