Chapter 4 - Nexus

Congratulations miss Kamila Hybusa. You have graduated from the DSA academy and you are now a Dungeon seeker. Your level is, Awakening.

You have been accepted into Nexus.

We look forward to what you can do.

She read the message from her phone in happiness. I did it. Now I can help Loki in Phonix, she thought. What ...

Her happiness completely vanished. Then she heard a knock at the door. She put her phone down on the kitchen table and went to go see who it was. She opened the door, and Monica was at the other side of it.

Monica

-Hi Kamila, long time no see. Nice to see you again.

Kamila

-Hi Monica, nice to see you too.

Monica

-Is Loki around.

Kamila

-No, he still as not come back yet. Why are you asking for him, I can come and tell him for you.

Monica hesitated but answered, "I wanted to tell him something." She continued, "I just graduated from the DSA academy, and I was accepted into Nexus without my consent." Kamila was surprised and did not have what to say.

Meanwhile

I the middle of resting, Loki was attacked by a larger spawn of monsters. He quickly got up from where he was sat. "What, again," He shouted, "where did they even come from."

His inventory appeared in front of him, "it's no big deal, there just low-level monsters." His sword come out of the screen and landed into his hand.

"Fire skill: Blade separation." Hos sword was set ablaze, and the sword separated into little pieces and parsed the monsters. He was impressed, after defeating the monsters in the overpass dungeon, he had leveled up and unlocked a new skill, Blade separation.

Some monsters got up, the skill did not damage them enough, it was only a low level hence it did not have a lot of power behind it.

The sword quickly reattached itself back together, it looks like I'm going to have to deal with them myself. His inventory opened again, this time he equipped his dagger alongside his sword, his hands were full. Loki proceeded by taking the monsters down.

The battle lasted 20 minutes, he had just finished killing off the last of the monsters and he was exhausted. Just then, he felt a strong pressure of danger behind him. He looked back, a fist was already planted into his chest, and it was so powerful, it felt as if his soul had separated from his body.

His body was flanged across the mall, going through several stores and landed in a shop. Disturbed by what had just happened, he struggled to get up. He was disoriented. It came walking to him.

Loki tried to get a health portion from his inventory, his health became low from just that one punch. But his items were nowhere to be found. In shock, he looked at it and in its hands were all his items, shown as floating icons.

He had no time to react as it kicks him and he went through several stores again. After hearing loud crashes, he opened his eyes to find himself in an empty pharmacy. Next to him were bandages on the ground. He grabbed them and tried to get up, his health was in the danger zone.

The thing came up to him with Loki's sword in its hand. Loki could see it clearly in the light that shined through the cracks of the ceiling. It was an Orc Lord. He tried to punch it, but it dodged his slow fist, and it spinked his sword into Loki's stomach.

"Grrr!" He screamed in pain.

Next, it kicked him in his chest, and he fell through the walls of the pharmacy, and ended up in an empty bookstore. His health bar was surpassing the danger zone, death. The bandages he had picked up appeared in his inventory and showed up on the status screen. He pressed on them and they rapped themselves around him and it stopped the bleeding, for now.

He crawled for a little bit before he stood up behind a shelf. It passed through the hole in the wall that Loki made.

It sees me

He dropped to his hands and knees, wedged behind a row of huge shelves, cramped in the crawl space between the shelves and the wall. He was scared, as he was dying. The only way through was passed the thing and he wasn't fast enough to make it.

He could see it stalking back and forth through the gaps between each shelf as he passed by. There was certainly enough room to move but he tried to move backwards. A lose nail from one of the shelves got lodged in his leg. His health bar moved, he tried to scream but he held himself back.

Filled with pain, he stopped controlling himself to carefully dislodge it. He had yet another injury to add to his already suffering body.

He heard a loud crash, and the farthest shelf slammed back against the wall. It hit it again, breaking the metal shelf in pieces then attacked the next, crashing against them almost rhythmically, breaking through the metal, coming closer.

I have to get out! I have to.

The panic though was of no help, there was no way out. His leg ached, and he wanted to sob aloud. The bleeding had begun again. Blood soaked through his clothes and felt has though he could feel it draining out of him.

The shelf a few feet away crashed against the wall and he flinched. It was getting closer, he could hear large foot steps getting even louder. Eyes closed, Loki could still see the way it looked at him, it's red eyes.

Suddenly the shelf in front of him was wrenched away. It toppled the other, thrown down like a toy. He opened his eyes and looked up just in time to see the downward swing of a sword.

Loki

-I'm going to die!

Switch

-What a wonderful world this is, anyone can do as they please as long as ot goes not hurt anyone else. But that is all about to change.

Just then, Loki remembered the words of Switch, a god that said these words.

This is my imagination....
