For a long moment, they simply lay there, catching their breath. Aphrodite traced idle patterns on Sharky's back as he rested his head on her chest.
"That was…" she started, struggling to find the right words. "Incredible."
Sharky chuckled softly against her skin. "Mmm."
Then he spoke again, his tone changing slightly. "Aphrodite, we need to talk."
Although they had become intimate, Sharky was not there for pleasure alone. "Tell me about Ares."
Aphrodite's body stiffened slightly. She hadn't expected that question in the middle of everything.
But she obeyed.
"Ares… he's been furious. His son, Phobos, died recently. He suspects Asgard."
Sharky's eyes darkened when he heard that Phobos was Ares's son.
He continued calmly, "Tell me everything about Ares's family."
Aphrodite exhaled softly and began speaking, her voice steady but cautious.
