Nelson's pov;
They have been mocking me and calling me names since I got to school.
We just finished our second class for the day when the emergency bell was rung. We all gathered at the big hall waiting for the arrival of the principal and he came soon after.
" Good morning, kids". He said using a mic so we could all hear him as he stood gallantly on the podium.
" Good morning principal". We all chorused.
" Nelson Kim, please come up here".
My heart palpitated. I knew my Mom went to see him but I didn't knew what they talked about. I was scared shitless. But I couldn't refuse to go up.
I walked as slowly as possible up the podium as if to delay the inevitable. My heart was beating super fast. I finally got there and stood in front of him. I was too afraid to even look up properly.
" Do you all see this boy?".
" Yes".
" Good. As of now that I speak,no one must say any foul word to him or try to bully him. You mustn't make him even at the very least uncomfortable.
If any of you goes against my order, you will be punished with suspension and ultimately expulsion. You are here to study,not to pick on others".
There was murmuring among the kids. They were all probably complaining.
" Silence". The principal yelled and immediately everything went silent. Even a pin drop could be heard.
" Do you all understand what I just said?".
" Yes, principal".
" Good,now I'll wait for the scapegoat. You can all head back to your class now". Everyone hurried back to their classes.
" Thank you sir". I bowed.
" You're welcome boy, you can go back to your class now". I quickly ran off as I was rather intimidated by the principal's fierce pose.
After that,they didn't dare to jest me again but I was still alone. They were avoiding me like plague. I was happy though.
I was so happy that I even shared my food during lunch. Her mummy was not at home so no one made her lunch.
" Let's share my food then".
" Really?".
" Sit down, you can't while standing, it's bad habit".
She sat down beside me as we both shared my lunch.
" Thank you".
" You are welcome".
" My name is Louisa".
" Nelson".
" It was very nice to miss you Nelson". She took my hands and shook them. I was really happy to have a friend again.
Lexi's pov;
It was the delivery day. I only had two hours more and thankfully, I only had one more to go. I had been knitting all through for the past two days. Only stopping in-between meals. I couldn't even cook. We got to eat good food thanks to Munchinkins.
" Mummy, you are too tired, you've been working all day". Nelson said as he sat on my bed while I knit by the table.
" I'll soon be done cutie". I replied with all my attention on what I was knitting.
" Should I cook dinner?".
" You must want to burn this house down. Are you even tall enough to reach the gas?".
" I was kidding mummy. But I'm really hungry though".
" I'm sorry. There's only one one more to go, I'll be done soon,ok?".
" Ok, Mummy". He pouted.
I soon finished the last one. All my fingers were sore and full of blisters. I didn't think I could knit again for at least one or two weeks.
I made instant noodles for Nelson as he must be very hungry. I freshened up and packed up all the cardigans as I made for Col's Designs.
" I'm going out briefly, cutie, would you like to come along?". I yelled up to his room so he could hear me.
" Yes mummy".
" Come on along then"
" Where are we going?".
To deliver something at my workplace".
By the time we got there, they were already closed. I forgot it was a special day and they were supposed to close early.
" Damn". I cursed. I remembered Nelson was there and scolded myself internally. I should have minded my language.
" I mean dome". He probably didn't even hear me the first time but it was still wrong of me anyway.
I called Alex.
" They are closed already".
" Yeah, Mrs. Morgan already told me where to bring them. I'm just about to wrap it up,will you bring yours over?".
" Alright".
" I'll text you the address".
I suddenly felt very tired. It might be because I worked too hard these days and didn't have a good rest. I managed to drive to Alex's place safely.
He came out just as I parked.
" That's fast". I said.
" Yeah". I went to bring out the packed cardigans. As I came out, I suddenly felt weak and couldn't walk properly so I slipped. Alex was fast enough to catch me before I fell. I felt lightheaded and fainted.
