Drey's pov:
The stairs leading to the basement looked like it was floating,it was artistic and scary,even dangerous.
But what caught our eye was what was lying below. In the basement was bags stacked together, the stink of drugs filled our lungs. It was so strong that you could get drunk just from inhaling the air there.
The son of a p**ck actually stored such a high volume of drugs,who the h*ll is he trying to kill?
" Ah, that was frightening". I yelled silently when I heard the loud beep in my ears.
" Oh, you could jump out of your skin too?". Max whispered trying to hold his laughter.
" I just realised something while trying to hack their system". Jade said.
" Bad news?". I asked.
" Depends, I found out what part of the warehouse Xandra could have been held captive. But, there's no door that leads to it in this warehouse. There's a small warehouse they no longer use, it's connected to this place through an underground passage".
" So,what to do now?".
" Try to get out safely from there. I'll send you the safe route. Also, I'll send you the location,head there as soon as you are out".
" Copied".
I was worried about how to get out of there without raising alarm. It's actually more difficult sneaking out than sneaking in. But thanks to Jade guiding us,we were able to get out safely.
Max's pov:
We stood in front of the small warehouse waiting for Jade's next instruction.
The warehouse looked worn-out from being abandoned for long. Who would guess they used such a place as the entrance to their stronghold.
We were waiting for an instruction on what to do next from Jade but it never came. We waited for a whole five minutes. Jade would normally respond in 30secs to 1min.
We even took the initiative in reaching out to him but we still didn't get a response. We were lost for a moment without Jade to guide us.
We decided to face it head-on and entered the warehouse. We found ourselves in an empty room. Completely empty except from a front desk which reminded me of a reception room.
There was another door there so we bit the bullet and took it. The room was pitch dark. I could not even see my fingers in front of me.
I could hear Drey fumbling around probably looking for the switch. The light came on after some secs and I stopped breathing for a moment at what I saw.
It was Xandra tied to a chair. She was tied with consideration for her condition. It wasn't too tight that it was uncomfortable. But I couldn't even see that,all I could see was the person I love in pain and struggling to escape.
My heart was in pain seeing the one I love in such a condition. I was overcame by the strong emotions that I forgot we were still in danger.
I ran to her and hugged her tight. She weeped in my shoulders.
"Max". I swore I heard her weeped my name.
" What?".
She shook her head. She must miss her dead husband in times like this.
At that moment, I was oblivious to my surroundings and lost myself in that moment. I couldn't even hear Drey calling out to me.
Well,that was until I heard a laughter accompanied with clapping from behind me. I was startled back into realisation.
" What a pity,this moment is so emotional that I want to record it".
I turned back to see that bastard called Alex or Kyle or whatever.
" You, I'll definitely kill you myself today". I yelled and wanted to run to him but Drey held me back.
" Oh, I'm so scared". He said sarcastically.
" By the way, I want you to meet someone". He said and clapped twice and someone entered from a door I didn't know exist before.
I haven't really taken a proper look at my surroundings.
" Jade". I gasped " oh,thank goodness".
Drey pinched me from the back and whispered," that motherf**ker is pointing a gun towards us".
I looked again and thoroughly,he was pointing a gun towards. Almost as if he was on their side.
"Jade?". I called carefully.
" I'll advise you to keep quiet and know your place. That's if you value your wife's life".
I was frightened and dumbfounded. I felt betrayed too. I sneaked a look back at Xandra but she's passed out. I would have panicked but at that moment, I was relieved because she didn't hear that.
" Jade,how could you do this to us". I retorted.
