Chapter 32 - Wake Up, World: Kitsune’s Reality Check

Dawn crashed through Kitsune's window, lighting up her messy room all soft and chill. But something was off. Papers shuffled, a cold breeze snuck in, and she felt a weird heaviness in her chest. Lying in bed with her phone by her side, she kept thinking, "Where the heck is Taiyo?" Normally, her phone would blow up with his wild texts—stuff like "Yo, they roasted me!" or "Your crew's so extra!"—but today, nothing. No texts, no missed calls, just a dead vibe that felt super off.

Dragging herself out of bed, she groaned and stretched. "Maybe I'm just overthinking it," she thought, figuring Taiyo probably crashed after getting home. Still, that gut feeling wouldn't quit.

Her room was a hot mess—plushies and random junk everywhere. Sunlight danced on the floor while her phone kept lighting up with notifications (except, of course, nothing from Taiyo). Every glance made her worry level go up. Something was seriously sus.

Outta nowhere, her phone buzzed hard. Half asleep, she grabbed it. An unknown number popped up. "Bet it's spam," she thought, but then it buzzed again with a long, creepy ringtone. Annoyed, she answered, "Hello?"

After some static, a low, eerie voice said, "This world isn't real." Kitsune's eyebrows shot up. The voice kept going, "You're still in the isekai. None of this is real. Wake up before it's too late."

She couldn't tell if it was a prank. "Is this a messed-up joke? Who even are you?" she muttered. The voice warped for a sec and then added, "You've been stuck in this simulation too long. Don't trust anyone. If you start remembering, they'll come for you—"

That was enough. Frustrated, she slammed the phone down. "Fucking weirdos," she grumbled, tossing it aside. No creepy call was gonna ruin her day—her karate tournament was on, and she wasn't about to let some ghost call stop her.

At school, the gym was lit. Everyone was hyped for the fight. Kitsune's crew—once wild but now chill—were yelling like they were in a straight-up shonen anime. Meanwhile, Taiyo sat on the sidelines, bored and muttering, "I should've stayed home."

In the ring, Kitsune cracked her knuckles and locked eyes with her opponent. Just as she took a deep breath, her phone buzzed again with an unknown number near her bag. For a moment, that creepy call flashed in her mind, but she shut it down. No time for that—this fight was too important.

The bout was intense. She dodged a high kick that almost hit her face, her moves smooth like a dope dance routine. The crowd was hype AF. Then, she spotted a mystery dude in a lab coat with blonde hair and golden eyes, drifting through the chaos. He locked eyes with her and whispered a single name: "Alepou."

That hit hard. Who the heck was he, and how did he know that name? Before she could ask more, a loud shout from the sidelines pulled her back in. No time to get lost in mysteries—she had to keep fighting.

Mid-fight, something lit up inside her—a warm surge of power that flipped the script. In one perfect punch, she sent her opponent flying. The whole arena went silent, jaws dropping. The ref's eyes were wide as hell, and Kitsune was still trying to wrap her head around it all. She'd planned a flashy routine, but one savage hit ended the match. The crowd whispered, "She's a monster," "Not even human," and "Straight-up isekai vibes."

After that, every match ended almost instantly. Opponents either got wrecked or bailed before the fight even started. On the podium, trophy in hand, Kitsune got cheers and some lowkey whispers. Deep down, she wondered if her crazy power was a gift or a curse.

Then came the next fight. This time, her opponent was all about weird moves, even declaring his "secret tickle technique." The crowd went, "What the heck?" Kitsune just raised an eyebrow. The match started, and in no time, she hit a sensitive spot on his waist. The dude burst into uncontrollable laughter and collapsed. The ref barely managed, "Winner… Kitsune!"

As the tournament rolled on, every fight ended in seconds. Kitsune was racking up wins like it was nothing, but she couldn't shake the mystery of that lab coat dude or the freaky call. Even while dodging attacks and landing her moves like it was a game, she kept thinking, "What if this power is more than just for winning fights?"

She knew one thing for sure: she was way too damn strong for this basic world. Whether her power was a blessing or a curse, her story was just getting started—and the next level was gonna be wild.
