Chapter 161 - Chapter 151: Level 3 Relic

Chapter 151: Level 3 Relic

Under Luna's guidance, Gu Xi and his team arrived near an estate located in the northern part of the Upper District.

As they approached the estate, Gu Xi saw something standing upright in the estate.

When they got closer, Gu Xi's eyes widened, "Could this be the relic?"

"Yes, in my memory, they went to great lengths to find an identical relic back then. Isn't it impressive?"

"Truly, very impressive."

Looking at the style of this object in front of him, Gu Xi couldn't help but be amazed. He asked Luna a question.

"Luna, I'm really curious, what was the reaction of the people in the original Victoria City when they saw this relic?"

"I don't know, maybe they had never seen this relic before?"

Luna wasn't very sure either. After all, the relic in front of them was too conspicuous. It was a thirty-meter-high clock tower, with ivy climbing all around it.

However, when the wind blew, it became apparent that what was climbing the clock tower wasn't ivy, but a multitude of snakes of various colors.

This style of object, standing in front of an ancient English-style estate, actually appeared quite harmonious.

This left Gu Xi speechless.

But the scene before him also made Gu Xi admit that such a large object, even if someone knew it was a relic, they couldn't move it.

Gu Xi shook his head, gripping his Frostwind Staff as he approached the clock tower. He wanted to go up and see what was going on with this relic.

Before he got close, Gu Xi suddenly felt as if his bones were rusting, making a creaking sound as he moved.

Before Gu Xi could react, Luna dragged him out of the clock tower's range.

"Be careful, my lord. Everyone who gets close to this relic inexplicably turns to stone, so don't go near it."

"Then how can I check the attributes of this relic?"

Gu Xi asked in frustration.

Surely, with the relic here, he should be able to do something with it.

Luna shook her head, "I don't know either. Even ghosts can't get close."

Hearing this, Gu Xi felt somewhat unwilling. He pointed his Frostwind Staff at the clock tower, "Death Avatar, go!"

The Death Avatar flew over, the black mist pushing aside the snake-like ivy on the clock tower.

But just as the Death Avatar was about to reach the top of the clock tower, it suddenly froze, its body dissipating into black mist, and fell heavily to the ground.

Seeing the condition of the Death Avatar, Gu Xi quickly pointed in its direction.

"Disperse!"

The dispelled Death Avatar disappeared in front of Gu Xi, returning to the Bone Dragon Laboratory. Gu Xi now understood the situation with this relic.

He glanced back at Luna.

"Was this petrification effect there from the beginning, or did it appear later?"

Luna shook her head. She had no memory of this place's situation. After all, there were rarely any living people in Aridowei City. As for the Phantasms, who would care if they turned to stone or not?

But now it was clear that Gu Xi wanted to check it out himself, and Luna couldn't guarantee Gu Xi's safety.

"Forget it, I'll do it myself. I'll ride the Evil Coffin over there. I'll have the Heavy Armor Zombies hold the Evil Coffin. If something goes wrong, give the order to drag me out."

After speaking, Gu Xi began to prepare. He first had the Evil Coffin circle the clock tower continuously to find the best angle of attack.

When the Heavy Armor Zombies arrived, Gu Xi held onto the chains and jumped onto the Evil Coffin, heading towards the clock tower in the initially determined direction.

As the Evil Coffin advanced, Gu Xi didn't notice any particular changes in himself, but his movements had clearly slowed down.

However, Gu Xi kept his eyes fixed on the clock tower, determined not to stop.

Just as Gu Xi was about to reach the clock tower, the Evil Coffin came to a halt.

Gu Xi had anticipated this. He jumped forward, and with a shake of his hand, the Skeleton Warhorse that had never been sold appeared.

With an iron chain dragging the Evil Coffin outwards, Gu Xi rode the Skeleton Warhorse into the clock tower.

Upon entering the clock tower, Gu Xi heard a voice.

[You have contacted the relic. Now, discovering that the relic is within your city, do you wish to dismantle it or directly occupy this relic structure?]

Hearing this voice, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief and decisively said.

"Occupy!"

With Gu Xi's command, he finally understood what was going on.

Luna's memory wasn't wrong, but she didn't see some details.

When building Aridowei City to imitate Victoria City, they did bring out another relic, but they took a shortcut.

The relic in Victoria City was a cogwheel from a large clock, so they built a clock tower around this relic.

But to build Aridowei City, they couldn't find an identical cogwheel.

So they built a clock tower in place and placed a relic in it, but it wasn't a cogwheel; it was the clock tower's hands.

Although both relics represented clocks, their properties were entirely different.

Hence, some discrepancies emerged over time.

Thus, this relic structure gradually lost control, with the relic, which was like a clock hand, playing on its own.

The sensation Gu Xi had of his body rusting and the inability to rush in, which felt like petrification, was actually time being elongated.

Now that Gu Xi occupied the place, he severed the connection with Victoria City's counterpart, bringing the relic under his control.

[Relic - Time Hand (Level 3): Can be placed in a city, providing corresponding effects based on the building level that houses the relic.]

[Relic Effect (Level 1): Activating the relic hand can produce a week's worth of output from a building in the city (can be training camps or resource buildings, used once per week, not stackable).]

[Relic Effect (Level 2): Reversing the relic hand can revert all soldiers in the city to their state one hour ago (used once per week, not stackable).]

[Relic Effect (Level 3): Activating the relic hand causes a person under a certain death or unsolvable effect to remain in that state until the lock effect is removed (only one person at a time, cannot be used simultaneously).]

[Clock Tower (Level 3): An auxiliary building constructed for the relic - Time Hand, capable of exerting all effects of the relic - Time Hand and preventing outsiders from entering the clock tower and controlling the relic - Time Hand.]

[Note 1: The clock tower can store two relics, please place similar or related relics.]

[Note 2: A defensive line can be set up outside the clock tower, but do not damage the building structure of the clock tower.]
