Arthur's expression shifted as he watched Brock rush into the building. To avoid witnessing something he shouldn't, he had refrained from using The Eye of Horus to follow him.
Now, seeing the anger etched on Brock's face, he urged him to calm down while activating The Eye of Horus. He quickly scanned the floors and found what he was looking for.
The door to the room had clearly been forced open, and the inside was a chaotic mess; it looked like someone had ransacked the place but found nothing of value.
"Calm down!" Arthur said, patting Brock on the shoulder. "You need to confirm who she was living with and whether she was really taken."
"Her new boyfriend," Brock replied, his voice tense. "Yeah, I'll call him."
Brock's hands trembled as he used his device to dial the number. Meanwhile, Arthur maneuvered the car into a small alley.
Once he was sure they were alone, Brock finished the call. "That guy is a doctor. Right now, he's at the hospital, but as a patient. His condition is really bad. When I called, he was really emotional and said those people were coming for me, but in the end, they took Annie."
"Life Foundation?" Arthur asked.
"Who else could it be? I can't think of anyone else I've crossed paths with." Brock was so anxious that even Venom was on the verge of surfacing.
Arthur could already hear Venom's voice in Brock's head: "Let's get over there, catch them all, and then eat them nice and slow!"
"Get out of the car," Arthur said suddenly.
Brock was taken aback, unsure of what was happening, but he complied and got out. Arthur patted Little Black, and the car vanished without a trace. In the next moment, he took out The Pen of Thoth and drew a teleportation circle on the ground.
"Get on."
Brock hesitated for a moment. "Are we going back to ask for help?"
"No, we're going straight to the Life Foundation. It'll be faster!" Arthur grabbed his shoulder, and with a flash of light, they appeared inside the Life Foundation building.
Brock looked around, then turned to see a man in a black trench coat and mask. For a moment, he stared in disbelief. "Your outfit change speed could break the Guinness World Record!"
"Sorry, I'm not interested in that," Arthur replied, releasing The Eye of Horus. He glanced at Brock with a slight smile. "Are you ready?"
"What should I do?" Brock asked, taking a deep breath.
"Just cooperate with Venom," Arthur instructed. "In my view, even though Venom is a symbiote, working together is crucial; that's the key to maximizing your fighting strength!"
"Understood!"
Brock closed his eyes, and in an instant, black matter crawled over his body. He grew larger and looked down at Arthur, grinning. "Hehehe!"
Venom laughed, his huge tongue lolling out.
"What are you laughing at?" Arthur asked. "Just deal with the fighters as you like, but knock out the others."
"Hahahaha! I knew coming with you was the right choice. I'm going to have a feast now!" Venom cackled, baring his fangs. Arthur frowned and couldn't help but say, "I suggest you get your teeth cleaned if you have the time!"
"I'm proud of my teeth!" Venom replied, slapping his chest, clearly oblivious to the joke. "Which way?"
"This way!"
Arthur had already scouted the area with The Eye of Horus and led Venom in that direction. While sneaking in would have been the better option, Arthur was fed up with the Life Foundation's actions. He needed them to understand just who they were messing with.
So, this time, he opted for the most direct approach: a full-on assault!
With two loud bangs, he fired his guns, blasting two large holes in the wall. Instantly, the alarms throughout the Life Foundation blared to life.
The guards sprang into action, and the first group to arrive opened fire on Arthur and Venom without uttering a word. Despite Venom's massive size, he moved with astonishing speed. To put it simply: calm as a still maiden, but in motion, wild as a husky. It was a perfect description!
He leaped around, snatching a guard at random, and opened his mouth wide, so wide it was almost surreal, nearly half his head was mouth. With a swift chomp, he swallowed the guard whole, leaving everyone around him in shock.
Arthur couldn't help but swallow hard at the sight, feeling a twinge of guilt for his own sinful thoughts. Ever since his last visit to the Domain of the Unknown, he had envied the sheer pleasure of eating whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.
He fantasized about devouring the entire Domain of the Unknown, but he knew that was impossible, and frankly, he didn't want to. So many people lived there, and even if he could drive them all out, the place was a mess.
They had eaten, drunk, and done their business there; the thought of it made him cringe. Just imagining the owner of that giant skull, knowing his head was being used by so many for their daily needs, was a hellish thought.
Arthur was skilled at zoning out during battles, and at that moment, he didn't take his opponents seriously. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that even if a god stood before him, the outcome would only be determined after a fight, so these guards were no threat at all.
With a flash of movement, he occasionally shot at a few would-be attackers, but most of his focus was on observing Venom's combat style. This guy could take a beating and dish one out, but when faced with heavy firepower, his defense was a bit lacking. If the humans maintained continuous fire, they might even take him down.
And that didn't even account for fire attacks or sonic waves, which were particularly lethal to a symbiote.
As they fought, Arthur kept an eye on Venom. Whatever Venom could handle, he took care of himself; for what he couldn't manage, Arthur stepped in to help.
In the blink of an eye, they breached the outer defenses and entered the main hall of the Life Foundation.
The space was completely empty, but then a voice echoed through the room: "Welcome, both of you, to the Life Foundation. However, before we have a friendly discussion, I think I should first reclaim what belongs to me!"
On the front wall, a large display screen lit up, revealing Drake's face. Behind him, a woman was tied to a chair, her beautiful eyes wide with furious anger.
